Reviews – Covert Lessons
If it was difficult to share last week's reviews because they weren't exactly nice…well, this week is just as tough. Covert Lessons is a little book I like to refer to as "The One that Fell into the Black Hole." LOL. I couldn't buy a review for this book (not that I would!). However, I did get two very nice ones and I thought I'd share them with you.
From Romance Readers Connection:
"Paced well and realistically told, with excellent character development, this novel will delight fans of new...

Copping a Feel
I wanted to sneak in a quick word about a new release at Ellora's Cave today. Lexxie Couper's book in the Cougar Challenge series, Copping a Feel, comes out today. This is a fan-damn-tastic book. Lexxie is one seriously funny lady. She likes to write the scary stuff, but personally I think she's missing her true calling. She was MADE for erotic romantic comedy and Copping a Feel simply proves my point! I was laughing out loud at several points. She's also an Aussie, which is where this...

Do you remember?
I've been playing around with writing down some of my stories for my kids and I have to admit it's sort of funny to look back and remember things from childhood. My extended family has always been a huge part of my life. My family runs high to girls. Loud girls. My mother is third of six children, five girls, one boy. The next generation managed to follow suit. There are 15 of us cousins in all, 12 girls and three boys.
I figure my uncle is a shoo-in for sainthood after living his entire life ...

Meet the Heat – Jambrea!
I feel like I've known Jambrea Jo Jones forever! She was one of the very first people I "met" online after my first book, Erotic Research, came out at Samhain. Since then, I've had the opportunity to "meet" her in person at two reading conference and it's safe to say, she's one of the nicest people I've ever had the privilege of knowing. This week, it's her time to shine in the International Heat spotlight and I thought I'd feature my favorite book by her, Magnus.
MagnusMarine Colonel Joe...

Saturday Snippet
This week's theme is one of my favorites–playlists. I often listen to certain songs as I write a book and I definitely keep playlist for each book.
Excerpt from No Regrets.
Ben awoke in his bed alone later in the morning with a smile on his face. The first thought to cross his mind was Vee, in his bed, in his arms. The previous night seemed like a dream to him, one from which he hoped never to awake. Her appearance in the midst of his darkest hour was a miracle. She was his miracle.
Glancing o...

Reviews – Retreat
When I said I was going to share reviews, I said that I would show the bad and the good. I will say that the Retreat reviews are going to be tough. If there is one thing that is great about humans, it's that we are all different. We all have different opinions, different personalities…tiny little things that make every single person on this planet unique. I respect that and as a teacher, I encourage free thought, free expression.
Why did I say all that? Because I want to make it clear…I've...

True Stuff 2
Last week I talked about redecorating my bathroom and uncovering some names and dates. The experience got me thinking about my own 'true' stories. I've lost people in my life–grandparents, a great aunt, a friend of my father's, who I wish I'd taken the time to talk to. I wish I'd heard some of their stories. I hit a milestone birthday last summer and since then I've sort of been thinking about my own mortality. If I died tomorrow, how many stories would I take with me? How many things would I...

Meet the Heat – Jayne Rylon
I don't think I've ever made it any secret that I love Jayne Rylon's books. She's a talented writer who pens stories I always devour in one sitting. In the past year, I've gotten to know Jayne, the real person, in addition to Jayne, the writer. Yep, there's a real gal behind the pen name! LOL. The Romantic Times Convention was held in Columbus this past April and Jayne, a Columbus local, graciously opened her home to me. We had a fantastic time and her husband made us a dinner to die for one ...

Saturday Snippet
Today's theme is dancing and I have to admit, I love dancing. Love, love, love it. I will also confess that I make Elaine from Seinfeld look like a member of the New York ballet. It's pretty safe to say that I have a wicked combination of two left feet and zero rhythm. Does that stop me? Hell no. Oh yeah–you should see me shaking it to Shakira's Hips Don't Lie. Stand back! No, seriously, stand back. Don't wanna hurt anyone.
I chose my excerpt from Sweet Thursday, book four in the Wild Irish ...

Rekindled – Contest!
Your email: Today is the day! My latest Ellora's Cave release, Rekindled, has hit the virtual shelves. Rekindled is the super quickie sequel to Spitfire, but you absolutely do not have to have read Spitfire to read Rekindled. Both books ride on their own–they just mention the same characters.
Blurb:
Rekindled is a standalone sequel to Spitfire.
It's been a year since her husband's passing, and running the ranch is taking its toll on Claire Hutchins. Independent as the day is long, she...
