Excerpts Extravaganza!

The International Heat authors are hosting an excerpts extravaganza on the Heat Wave yahoo group all day today. Many of us have fall releases and we thought it would be fun to give the readers some behind-the-book secrets and red-hot excerpts. There will be snippets from Anne Rainey, Jayne Rylon, Rhian Cahill, JR Patrick, Jambrea Jo Jones, Lexxie Couper and Jess Dee.

Saturday Snippet

Last week's theme was Screw You and it dealt with break-ups. I promised you we'd turn things around this week and boy, do we! This week's theme is Screw me! and if you follow the blogs you will be treated to some red-hot make-up scenes. Have to confess – it was tough picking a scene for this week. I honestly try to put super hot sex in all my books–hee hee.

RAW

Robert Burns penned a poem called To a Mouse and it talks about the "best laid plans of mice and men" and how often they go wrong. I think it's safe to say that my 'good intentions' of returning home from Lora Leigh's RAW event and writing a blog about it went up in smoke when I turned on my laptop Monday morning and the whole thing crashed. Hard. Now I will confess my laptop was ancient. Super old. Valerie Tibbs took one look at it at RAW and said, "Buy yourself a new computer!"

Today's theme is SCREW YOU! And I don't mean in a good way. Sadly, today we're taking a look at the dreaded break-up. But not to fear…next week is all about the making up. The excerpt I chose if from book one in the Wild Irish series, Come Monday.

Slow Burn

There's a new book out at Ellora's Cave and I want to make sure everyone spotted it. It's called Slow Burn and it's by my critique partner, JR Patrick. This is JR's second published book, though it's her EC debut. I anticipate it won't be her last. JR is a fantastic writer and I'll tell you why. RAW

I'm packing my bags and getting ready to head to Lora Leigh's RAW event this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it. Valerie Tibbs, cover artist extraordinaire, is flying in on Thursday. I'm picking her up at the airport and we're making the 6 hour drive to West Virginia together on Friday. Once we arrive, we're meeting up with Jayne Rylon and the three of us are gonna bunk in together at the hotel.

Happy Labor Day Weekend

Hope everyone in the USA in enjoying the long weekend. I thought I'd do it up right this year. Last night, I went to a Jimmy Buffett concert and had a fan-damn-tastic time. The guy sure knows how to put on a show. Prior to the concert, I did the Parrothead tailgating and it was really fun too. Maybe a little bit too much fun!

Because of last night's revels, I'm taking it easy today. Doing a bit of laundry, puttering around the house, and I just made a big old pot of chili for dinner. Trying...
