India and Peru, Stand Against GMOs and GM crops for Global Food Security

India and Peru, Stand Against GMOs and GM crops for Global Food Security

Some books I have written that might be of interest to you and others in India are:
- Geostrategy to Protect Environmental Health & Food Security
- The Future of Food (volumes 1 & 2)

I'd also love to get these books picked up by Hindi and Tamil publishers within India for translation and distribution, but don't know who to work with there (north and south).

I also have need of a Spanish publisher to distribute my books across Latin America and throughout Peru.

To my knowledge only India and Peru have moratoriums restricting genetically modified seed and crops in their countries. Hence the world (as a matter of food security) needs India and Peru to uphold these moratoriums and not cave to GM companies in the west.

Blessings and breakthroughs!

College Professor Salary: University Professor Salary

College Professor Salary: University Professor Salary

It appears according to some salary websites that the average college professor or university professor salary is between $80,000 to $90,000 U.S. dollars.

Some websites show a wider salary range from $48,000 to $150,000 for a college professor salary.

Of course a university professor is likely to earn more than a college professor when the distinction between the academic institutions is made.

Community colleges are typically two year programs compared to universities that offer four year bachelor degrees, higher education via a Master degree and/or PhD.

The highest paid university professors earn up to $4.33 million annually.

According to the Washington Post "full professors at public doctoral institutions made $126,981 in salary in the 2013-2014 academic year, and instructors at those schools made $50,032."

The Houston Chronicle reports: "The average salary for a full-time professor at a public community college or two-year technical school is $72,000, according to a 2010-11 study published in 2012 in the National Education Association Almanac of Higher Education. This study also found a lower average salary for the same position at independent and private institutions, where the average yearly salary for professors is $54,000."

The Glass Door shows Professors earn $117,740 a year on average.

That being said there are obviously a variety of subjects professors teach and those most in demand and desirable are likely to pay more.

Seasons 52, Restaurant Review, Foodie Reviews

Seasons 52, Restaurant Review, Foodie Reviews

Since there was not enough room on the Seasons 52 website contact page for a restaurant review, I am posting this foodie review here below.

Dear Seasons 52,

As a frequent diner at your restaurant (Sand Lake Rd.) for the past 8 years, an Orlando resident, and food writer; I am writing to report a disappointing experience on Dec.21st (Server Estela, Check #78058-4501) when I took my parents (who drove in from Clermont) and wife out to dinner at Seasons 52.

My wife and I have always considered Seasons 52 our "go to restaurant" in Orlando that is consistent, provides good service, quality healthy food, fresh seasonal ingredients and rarely disappoints. We also used to enjoy Mimi's Cafe until it was bought by new ownership and the ingredients changed (in pursuit of cheap substitutes) and portion sizes were reduced to increase profit margins. We hope this will not happen at Seasons 52.

Here are the list of complaints / disappointments:
1. The server was good early on with her introduction and citation of the dishes, but thereafter began to disappear for 10 minutes or more (until I called other servers passing by to help).

2. The vegetables were charred having been precooked and reheated (as evident in the black red peppers and brussel sprouts). You should know charred food is carcinogenic and causes cancer.

http://www.cancer.org/cancer/news/new...

http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/fa...

http://www.menshealth.com/best-life/d...

I asked the server for red peppers that were not charred black, but she said all are precooked and they did not have any.

Thus your dishes / veggies are not fresh and being precooked in such a way they are UNHEALTHY and CANCER CAUSING.

The brussel sprouts were also very bland and tasteless. My wife cooked some brussel sprouts for Thanksgiving and just some garlic and sea salt could greatly improve the dish for Seasons 52.

3. My grandpa used to hunt deer and bring home venison, so I ordered that asking specifically for NO CHARRING / BLACK effect on the meat, but the cook charred it anyhow and it was extremely tough. The cut of venison also was full of gristle being tough and not tender (cooked too much).

4. Our favorite Ginger drink (usually fresh and amazing) had too little sugar for my wife. Usually it is the opposite with most restaurants as they play it safe and don't put enough ginger. I actually prefer more ginger and less sugar, but my wife and I noticed the proportions had been changed and it was a bit less sweet. (I wish there was a way customers could choose which of the two blends of ginger ale they were served - less or more sugar.)

5. The maple glazed chicken (which my wife ordered) did not have much overall flavor (pretty basic).

The accompany sauce on the dish tasted like a thickened up worchestire sauce, not adequately complimenting the chicken.

6. At the end of the meal we requested to Agave Ginger drinks WITHOUT ice and were given one WITH ice.

7. My wife phoned ahead making a 5pm reservation the same morning requesting a high chair for our 1 year old daughter, which was confirmed it could be done. However upon arrival, though cordial, sweet and welcoming; the hostess in regard to the high chair seemed resistant and hesitant telling my wife: "I'm not sure. Well it should be okay to put one here since it is still early" (5pm).

As if not having a high chair for a 15 month old girl is an option at Seasons 52. The hostess made us feel like it was an inconvenience or our daughter was unwelcome in the formal dining area (though other small children her age were later in the same room throughout the meal).

Good things to report:

1. The piano player was kind and amazing, very sweet to our one year old daughter (when I took her away from the table to calm her down). Lily loves music and enjoyed hearing your piano player.

2. The bathrooms were clean as usual.

3. The valet attendants were kind, allowing my mom to borrow their umbrella while we ran to the car in the rain.

4. The desserts were great as usual.

5. The atmosphere was exceptional (as usual). We really like the booths in the main dining hall near the window (enough room to seat 6 therein).

6. The chili was great (as usual), but the portion size had dropped to half of the bowl. Nevertheless the server kindly brought me a cup of chili thereafter to make up for the initial small portion.

7. The mushrooms, gravy accompanying the venison was delicious and the sweet potatoes were outstanding.

I do hope Seasons 52 will continue its same standards of excellence, quality food, healthy fresh ingredients and preparation, and customer service. We would like to continue dining and bringing family and friends to Seasons 52, but this last visit was truly a disappointment given the bill was $136.48 without the gratuity, which I nonetheless graciously paid to maintain the kind Christmas spirit.

Sincerely and respectfully,

Sexual Assault Prevention, Date Rape Prevention: Greek Life Speaker for Social Success

Sexual Assault Prevention, Date Rape Prevention: Greek Life Speaker for Social Success

Serving Greek life and students at your universities and colleges across the globe is a privilege, honor, and a lot of fun.

As it pertains to the touchy and heavy topic of sexual assault prevention, date rape prevention, and sexual harassment prevention; as the father of a one-year-old daughter I get it and understand how to nurture, protect and think like a woman and be a father.

I am one of the few men probably who have been sexually assaulted and harassed by women.

- When in high school and drinking, while sitting in the backseat of a friend's car nearly asleep, a young lady began undressing me (I having no interest in, nor having pursued her).

- While living and attending grad school in New York City after consensually dating a young lady once or twice, she then felt she had the right to break into my apartment after I repeatedly told her I was no longer interested. I had to call the NYC police to remove her when she refused to leave.

- Years later while with a church youth group in downtown Orlando, a young lady out partying pulled up her shirt and flashed me her breasts.

I both cringe and chuckle as I tell these stories because like everyone else I value my space, boundaries and personal privacy. Yet simultaneously I enjoy sex, just at the right place and time (consensually with the person of my choice).

We all want love and sex, but the timing and the approach is often critical to respect human beings, not be offensive, and afford mutual consent (or to decline such advancements). Guys unfortunately (often, not always) tend to succumb more so to their hormones (more testosterone than women) and are stimulated visually, whereas woman are stimulated more audibly preferring more nurturing behavior to endear them over time (like a crock pot, whereas men are microwaves ready in a minute and sometimes not lasting much longer when they finally get their chance to perform :o).

Talking on and addressing these issues I go deeper into levels of sociology, interpersonal interaction, sharing my own stories (as a guy who grew up without a mother/she being a drug addict and alcoholic, a stepmonster, no sisters, and a giving grandmother - none of which sat down to teach me how to understand or interact with the opposite sex) of social dysfunction which did not position me to do well with women. Nevertheless somehow I learned by quiet observation, interaction (sometimes trial and error), and to my surprise sometimes had women pursue me just because I am transparent and vulnerable.
For example I dated Cinderella when working as a bus-boy cleaning tables at Walt Disney World in Cinderella's Palace (she having sent her friend the hostess to speak to me and convey her interest).

Transparency and vulnerability is often counter intuitive for guys trying to be macho and flex their muscles. Women however want to feel safe, respected, adored and cared for (not like a piece of meat at a steak house to be devoured).

Having traveled to 72 countries and lived overseas (as well as in Queens, NY - the most diverse county in the country) I understand cross-cultural nuances in dating too.

The essence of Greek life is to facilitate healthy relationships, meaningful interaction, fun, fellowship and professional development of students. By not being proactive, when something goes wrong on campus, Greek life (frats and sororities) are often demonized.

Yet every fraternity and sorority house needs a father / mother figure and/or big brother / big sister to mentor the younger and lead by example.

I speak to all of these issues when delivering my presentation on the topic of sexual assault prevention and date rape prevention to universities and colleges.

I speak worldwide for $5,000 and travel expenses from Orlando, FL per hourly keynote; $7,500 for half a day, and $10,000 for a full day plus travel expenses. I also give block booking discounts for multiple speaking venues if you want to partner with other universities, colleges, student groups, associations, companies, churches to have me speak when I am in your state.

I have delivered talks on the same subject matter with great success for the U.S. Military, Universities, Companies and Churches across the globe.

Please advise the proposed date for the event, your audience(s), budget, time of day, desired outcome, budget for educational resources for attendees, etc.

It is my joy and honor to serve you, help equip and protect your students, and improve safety for all on your academic campus.

Respectfully,

Nelson Mandela, Leading with Love, Forgiveness and Leadership

Nelson Mandela, Leading with Love, Forgiveness and Leadership

I greatly admire Nelson Mandela. A man who was a victim of injustice and imprisoned for 25 years by racist whites in South Africa. Mandela had the courage to rise above it all, putting the interest of his country before himself to forgive his enemies and lead South Africa into an era of equality and reconciliation.

Most leaders are somewhat self-serving, having mixed motives as to why they run for political office (many American Presidents leaving more wealthy than when they began to "serve").

Mandela proved himself to be different and a cut above the rest, showing that forgiveness and loving one's enemies does truly work to heal the racial divide and reconcile a nation.

Mandela therefore has a legacy of loving, lifting, fathering and leading South Africa into an era of freedom, justice, equality and empowerment.

Marketing Food, Corporate Profits to Sacrifice Public Health

Marketing Food, Corporate Profits to Sacrifice Public Health

Fascinating subject. I'd say marketing / branding are connected both to the organization and the global marketplace of ideas (varying by geography and regional preferences). For example culturally the European Union (EU) is more against and disinterested in genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food than here in America. I prefer the EU approach to label GMOs in food, but American corporations and their lobbyists thus far have cleverly duped politicians and legislators to NOT label GMOs in food and continue to sell them to unconscious consumers.

Sometimes clever marketing and greenwashing of products (or false labeling to sell food items) can be both profitable and unhealthy (gut wrenching in my opinion for anyone with a conscious). I therefore have to draw the line with marketing when public health is at stake.

Leadership, Building Trust, Earning Respect, Wielding Influence

Leadership, Building Trust, Earning Respect, Wielding Influence

Leadership begins with influence. Having lived overseas in Asia, the fastest growing continent on earth, I succeeded influencing others numerous times. This explains why my previous company for whom I completed a contract in mainland China was willing to pay me more than my predecessors because I added value.

Cultivating relationships and influencing professionals is hard enough to do in one's own country and the western hemisphere. Doing so cross-culturally in Asia is even more challenging. I however succeeded and was treated like royalty by my boss, co-workers, and everyone in partner organizations with whom we worked.

I paid the price and made the sacrifice to genuinely care about people, listen, learn, not be the typical Westerner, and endeavor to see their perspective before seeking to assert my own. In so doing, I was often called upon to provide my perspective, because I first earned their trust, won their respect, and then my intelligence and expertise had a continual open door through which to communicate and wield influence.
