I commend and salute you for taking the initiative to bring in a quality motivational speaker to inspire your youth graduating elementary schoolers preparing to make the leap into middle school.

As a worldwide speaker empowering youth throughout the globe and talking on academic success secrets for students and educators, it would be an honor to address your 5th graders and inspire and prepare them for that which is necessary to successfully transition and succeed as middle schoolers.

I particularly found going from elementary school (where I could do my homework in 10 minutes) to middle school (where I had to study for exams) somewhat challenging. Upon bringing home a D on my Science progress report, my father spanked me and communicated his desire to see me do better. Yet neither he nor my mother (a drug addict and alcoholic), nor my grandparents ever taught me how to study for exams and excel academically. They simply communicated their expectations.

Nevertheless somehow I figured it out and taught myself how to study, becoming a self-motivated student which turned that D in my Science class into an A (earning me the most improved student award that year). Thereafter I went on to graduate from University with honors at the age of 20, while many of my peers from high-school were still contemplating entering college.

That being said, inspiring students for academic success and personal greatness is my passion. Having been raised by my grandparents as a result of my parents' divorce and mother's substance abuse, I understand the plight of children / students in the inner city. Moreover my father and stepmother (a retired middle school educator) fought for the first 10 years of their marriage, which I had to endure on the homefront (and even was shipped back to live with my grandparents in 10th grade when falsely blamed for their marital woes). I say all of this to say, I understand kids' struggles and deeply desire to inspire and empower them to excel and do well in life.

I just returned from speaking for Celebrity Cruises in the Mediterranean and Middle East for two weeks, before which I spoke on diversity and leadership at Immaculata University in Pennsylvania.

It would be an honor to speak to your students. As a former high school English teacher to international students from Latin America, Haiti and Asia; I know how to relate well to teens and speak powerfully to their struggles with humor and insight.

As a former lifeguard and personal fitness trainer, I value personal health, living a clean and wholesome life and loving God so we can be fully blessed and be a blessing. Being different and making a difference is a message today's youth desperately need to hear in an age where conformity and peer pressure continually try to constrain and squeeze the purity of youth and life out of the younger generation.

As a worldwide speaker who has been to Africa 5 times traveling throughout many impoverished and war-torn nations revolutionizing and empowering Africans both at home and abroad, I'd be delighted to be your keynote speaker.

Raised by my maternal grandparents due to my mother's substance abuse and drug addiction (she dying before my grandparents), I deeply understand the plight of the African American male and struggles of the inner city.

I also cared for my grandparents in their old age prior to their passing, not wanting to put them in a nursing home (loving them too much and wanting to care for them as they did for me).

Although I am not African American outwardly, I am inwardly and feel deeply connected to my brothers and sisters from Africa despite our diversity of color.
