When you Have Crushing Covers
As I was photographing these books, the beauty of their covers just stood out to me.
Notice how the designer did the contrast with the white and making the covers flow together!
Gah! I absolutely love details like that!
Now for the review…
This one had me at “just one more chapter tonight… no, one more…” several nights. It is action-packed and full of intrigue.
I really liked both Rissi and Mason. Their backstory just made my heart go out to them. And honestly, I love sto...

A Hymn of Comfort and Peace
I don’t like not knowing what will happen.
I don’t like uncertainty.
Moving to a new college in the midst of Covid-19, leaving my family and my church, and having health struggles that can put me almost bedridden some days is NOT my happy place.
But…
Regardless of what we’re facing as a nation or as individuals, we DO have hope. But our hope must be anchored in Jesus Christ and His promises.
All other ground is sinking sand.
So despite changes… Despite uncerta...

I Love to Tell the Story, Giveaway and Interview
Three weeks ago I released A Strand of Hope. Today, Lena is joined in the public with another Willow Hollow librarian: Lilian in I Love to Tell the Story! So read on to learn more about book two in Librarians of Willow Hollow–with a special interview with Faith.
About I Love to Tell the Story
Her heart is in the right place…
Bored with her life in Castle Town, Montana, Lillian Sullivan follows her friend’s suggestion and joins the horseback librarian program in rural Kentucky. Not on...

A Strand of Hope – Artwork Voting
The art contest is now closed and I have been blown away by your artwork! God has gifted so many of you with talent and I’m delighted that you chose to share it as part of A Strand of Hope’s release (because yeah, I sure can’t draw)!
Someone had the bright idea to do an “author’s pick” grand prize.
Y’all. I can’t even! How am I supposed to pick just one? There are so many different styles and interpretations of a packhorse librarian (or the mountains and horse).
While I make my decision...

What if your Cozy Town Became a Mystery Site?
I think this was my first cozy mystery to read? I have watched plenty of mysteries with low gore and good humor and love them, so I knew I would like it in book form.
The overall thoughts
The small town feel is alluring, and this book captured it well. There are all the elements you want: coffee shop, book shop, tackle shop, you name it. Even though there was a murder, the small town charm was never lost.
Did I call the “bad guy?” Yep. Okay, so I’m always that one watching mysteries and...

Do my Words Bring Shame?

For the last several years, I have read the “Proverbs of the Day,” and it never ceases to amaze me how much I need each day’s chapter every month. Sometimes, a verse I have read dozens of times before just stops me in my tracks and makes me think.
Like… this one:
“He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.” Proverbs 18:13
I have been so guilty of this. Even recently (especially recently). I get wind of someone’s decision...

A Strand of Hope Featured on… (and Last Day for Giveaway!)
One week has flown by so insanely fast! A Strand of Hope has officially been on shelves for seven days, and I am both humbled and blown away by the response Lena and her story has received!
Lena’s story isn’t an easy one… but then, life so often isn’t easy. We all live around real human beings who say and do things that aren’t always the kindest. And we all need to learn again and again how to love and forgive.
A Strand of Hope in others’ words
Today, I’m happy to feature the blogs that...

A Day in My Life – Release Day Pictures
Tuesday was an amazing day! While I have had several books release, I decided to celebrate A Strand of Hope’s release day with a full-blown party. And boy, was it fun–even with Covid restrictions.
The first half of the day
The day started about like most days. I got up, got my breakfast, did my morning devotions, took my morning walk, and then showered.
I stepped into the kitchen… to find my recently-married sister and two friends standing there! They drove almost two hours to surprise ...
