See all that stuff in the photo? Cool stuff, right?
You can win it. All of it. I know, it’s better than an ice cream sundae.
@knockknockstuff is celebrating Labor Day weekend with their “Get Shit Done” Giveaway. Just RT this tweet and/or follow Knock Knock on the Twitters.
One lucky bastard will win all of that stuff, which includes my latest masterpiece Drinks for Mundane Tasks.

Sie heißt „MEML“: Diese Erziehungsmethode könnte die beste der Welt sein
Can any of you read German? This looks like a review of my book Calm The F*ck Down, the German version of which is called Stay Calm, Baby or something because I guess Germans don’t like the word fuck? But Google Translate makes it read like it was written by an epileptic chimp.
@thedaddycomplex not a professional translation by any means, but hopefully more coherent than Google Translate.
It’s called “CTFD”: This educational parenting method might be the best in the world
Are there any parents out there who don’t get more advice than they can use? “Read this book, have you heard about that method, what do you think of this expert or that one?”
There are so many tips for parenting it’s easy to get buried under a book mountain. Here’s a new method: MEML (CTFD).
David Vienna is the “creator” of this method. The American is the father of twin boys and runs a very successful blog “TheDaddyComplex”, where he writes about the madness of daily family life. But naturally he, like all parents, only wants the best for his kids.
A parenting method that takes away the parents stress
As a parent himself, he knows exactly how easy it is to make yourself dizzy between promoting early education, parenting classes, and “My kid is bigger, better, faster” conversations.
He described the method in a viral blog post aimed at other parents who were also overwhelmed with sorting through the ever changing end point for the best children’s education method. He calls it CTFD- Calm The Fuck Down. Loosely translated it’s MEML- Keep Yourself Calm.
Recently, Vienna has even published book about the method. A best seller in the US, it’s been published in Germany under the title “Stay Calm, Baby: Cool Tips For Quiet Parents”.
Vienna considers MEML to be the key to ensuring our childrens success, no matter what parenting methods you prefer; as long as no violence is used. The best thing about the method is that it’s applicable in all kinds of situations. Here are a few examples.
Your child throws a hissy fit at the grocery store instead of behaving and saying please and thank you? Keep Yourself Calm.
Mom or dad are feeling like they’re at the end of their rope and everything they’ve tried has failed? Keep Yourself Calm.
Your best friend’s kid can walk sooner, ride a bike sooner, solve math problems sooner? Keep Yourself Calm.
Suddenly everyone in your parenting class is judging you because you’ve already stopped or are still breastfeeding? Keep Yourself Calm.
You’ve decided on another/no more kids and made the mistake of announcing the decision publicly? Keep Yourself Calm.
Parents- and this is the key- are already thinking about enough. There’s no need for more outside pressure.
In the end, every family is going to have a different answer. So loosen up! It will help keep your whole family happier together.
Holy crap! Thanks so much for the translation, @powersuitup
