A Lonely Walk

A Lonely Walk

Life is a long lonely walk
So why do people wish
for a long life
for others and self

The loneliness is darker
At the end of the day Or the start
Depends - When you have nothing to do
Or no one gives you anything to do

People get companions
Husbands and Wives
And call them soul mates
So they can bear the loneliness

People bear children
Run around, filling their lives, Being Buzy
But in the dark corner of their soul they know
the fact that they are alone

The Plague in Egypt

From the 11 Commandments? from a naked unshackled mind.....

Then the lice plague broke out. Part of the reason for the plague was resistance to over the counter products like RID, Clear and other pyrethrins, the other part was a particularly warm and humid post summer, a perfect environment in which lice thrive. The lice epidemic was particularly bad because it reached the royal palace.

Queen Hatshepsut or it could be Queen Nefertiti had to shave her head to get rid of the lice, twice. Hell hath no fury like a Woman forced to shave her head and twice – you are inviting mayhem.

The Pharaoh summoned all the Jews in the kingdom to gather at the main village square, in Memphis, Egypt (some say it could have been Tahrir Square, Egypt). “You” he addressed Aaron and Miriam, “this is what you wanted right? You wanted your people to be free. We have been negotiating this for quite some time now. Well, you and your people are free now.” He then turned and yelled at the congregation “Get the hell outta here and take your cattle and your belongings and get out of my sight before I change my mind. We do not want your sickness and disease here. Get out.” He then turned to Moses and said “et tu, Moses. Get out. We don’t want murderers here either.”

So, the Jewish people left Egypt and the land of the Pharaoh. They followed their leaders Moses, Miriam, and Aaron into the wilderness. The exodus was tough. It was uncharted territory and food and water was scarce. There were many people and resources were limited and had to be rationed.

About 2 days after the Jews left Egypt, the Pharaoh could not find his ruby sandals with diamond straps. They were a much-cherished gift he had received from his mother on his last birthday. His mother had told him that the jewels in the sandals were mined in Tanzania and then hand crafted in Egypt and that she had to spend quite a bit of time to get this custom made for him. She also told him that they had magical powers. As long as he wore them, nobody could harm him or harm Egypt.

tired of politics?

If you are tired of the politics on TV and radio, time to change direction and listen to something else, It is time to switch off and turn to.... religion..yes religion.

Politicians will solve your external problems as they have for time immemorial and Religious leaders will solve your internal problems as they have for time immemorial.

I am sure you have felt how significantly Obama has changed your life in the past 8 years. Come November whoever comes Trump or Hillary, rest assured, your life will change significantly. You will have more money in your pocket and you will be able to take that elusive vacation and life will be good, if not better. I believe, like a good American, in all promises from politicians.

Religion similarly has been solving all our problems. If you look at the world around you, the Popes, Imams and other religious leaders has taught us to do good, be good and have made the world a wonderful place to live in. We are at internal peace here in America and all over the world including the middle east.

Both politicians and religious leaders charge a small direct fee, 10% of what you make or $27.99 to solve your problems. Lets face it a normal Joe or Jane is inept and cant solve these problems.

I too am trying to solve a problem. A religious problem. The problem of the commandments and for that I am charging too but not as much. I have a book out there which you can read. Now if you are a religions nut and under 18 I would not recommend this book.

For a limited time, From August 18 – August 25, get the 11 commandments? from a naked unshackled mind on your Kindle at a significant discount (starting at $0.99) at Amazon US.

Still not convinced checkout the 11 compelling reasons why you should read the book and also what others are saying about the book.

Religion

Are you tired of fights around religion. Are you tired of the One-upmanship around religion. Religion which was supposed to bring us together, sometimes you wonder has it really?

The two major religions in the world Christianity and Islam have caused more wars and strife than all the others combined together.

Have you ever wondered why is that? Well both these religions plagiarized a major portion of their teachings from an older religion - Judaism.

Now what is the cornerstone of Judaism. The commandments! Well have you considered them lately. You shall not make idols, honor your father and mother, you shall not commit adultery and the list goes on. So what do you do when you are told not to do something. Well find out. Read and find out what the real commandments were. Would the world have been a better place today if what is in the book is true? You decide.

The Color of the Soul

I wonder what is the color of the soul
of the black cobbler
of the brown taxi driver
of the white banker

I wonder what is the color of the soul
of the Spanish student
of the Chinese tutor
of the English teacher

I wonder what is the color of the soul
of the man from Tanzania
of the woman from Peru
of the transgender from Pakistan

I considered the colors
could it be black
could it be white
or perhaps it was brown

that's when in the horizon I saw
the colors of the rainbow

Dallas

I weep
for Dallas and for others
For men and women
In uniform and not in uniform
No one deserves to die
& not in the way they are dying today

I wonder
if there were no guns
would the violence stop
probably not
people will take out their knifes
to settle scores

I pray
that men and women calm down
and take direction from their soul

A summer Night

It began with a whisper. I strained to hear the words coming through the window but it was inaudible. We had moved to the neighborhood recently but I hated the house. They say buy the cheapest house in a good neighborhood and that is what we did. We got the cheapest house next to the cemetery.

I was alone. Mark had gone out of town on a business trip and the kids were having a sleepover at a neighbor’s house. I got out of bed and went to the window. It was a moonless night and the outside was pitch black. I strained but could not see anything.

“Anybody there,” I asked sharply.

The whispering stopped. I wondered if it was some kids out late in the hot summer month or could it be a burglar. I ran to the bathroom looking for a flashlight, found it and went downstairs. I looked through the kitchen window and as my eyes got used to the darkness I could see a car parked next to the cemetery. I could see the silhouette of two men close to the house. I picked up the phone. There was no dial tone.

“Shit.”

Before I knew it, two shots were fired and the main door was flung open. The two men came in and grabbed me. I struggled with all I had and bit one of the men.

"Te qifsha, kurve", the man grunted.

“Handikapat”, I retorted realizing who these guys were and what they were after. The past has a weird way of catching up with you. They tied my hands and feet, stuffed a handkerchief in my mouth, and carried me to the black sedan. They dropped me in the back seat of the car, slammed the door, and drove away.

Note: Posting it here as I was not able to submit it to a flash fiction contest. See if you like it..:-)
