Reader Q&A – Symbiosis Through Change

Kelley, I was sure I would settle down in South America, and now it feels like a new chapter suddenly began, and the old one is fading away really fast…

I’ve had to take a new job in Berlin. I was free on Brazilian tropical beaches and studying shamanism, now I am shopping for suits! Something is definitely happening, but I am struggling with objective insights. I’d like to know what it is that I am learning now. Anna

Thanks for your note, Anna, and for being a longtime reader. When I pose your intention to my guides, I’m shown that there is an immediate need for your presence in Berlin. Specifically, the Nature Spirits of your location need a conduit, and for this time, it’s you. It isn’t that you won’t get back to South America, though it will be well down the line before you do.

When I ask about this connection in Berlin, a feminine being comes, who very much comprises a wintry elemental aspect of the space you’re in, now. I’m also shown sand drawings indicating your path to this point, and where you currently stand. Leading to the present, I see drawings that are detailed and intentional, yet are dislocated from each other. They don’t connect to form an overall unifying expression of effort or  focus. Because they are detailed, though, I know you have given much thought to your life choices, and have given each time to manifest and work in your life.

Immediately around your feet, which indicates the present moment, the drawings become tighter, as detailed, and they do interweave to create a mural telling a bigger story. My sense of this shift in the drawings and the presence of the feminine Nature Spirit is that she is working with you to bring cohesion to your life experiences, and what they mean in serving your life purpose. This meaning comes from working with her.

It seems the emphasis for you right now isn’t in studying shamanism, but in embodying it through the Nature Spirits around you. This winter goddess has made herself available to you for this effort, though it isn’t one-sided. She needs some care that you bring to this region, and working together, it can be given.

I wish you the best in your changes, Anna. It is settling in, and will continue to, even more so. Call this goddess in to discuss how you can benefit each other, and how your relationship can move forward in a way that supports you both.

Best to you!

The Weekly Rune – Tiwaz (1 February 2015)

For the week 1 February 2015.

For the last few weeks, relationships and how we feel about specific ones has been the focus of the runes. With Algiz as the half-month rune, this week we sit camouflaged cozily in its native grasses, as Tiwaz, this week’s rune, brings a second wind.

The thing to keep in mind about Algiz is its ability to cloak us in the homefront. ‘Shapeshifter’ is the concept associated with this stave, generally speaking. The heart of it, though, is the feeling of home, what is native.  Algiz will be the runic governance through mid-day, 13 February.  Learn more about the half-month and its impact on our lives on Patreon.

This week, Tiwaz brings a ‘mach-2 with your hair on fire’ feel. It may not be pleasant at first, but allow the gear to shift, and it will become home. How could that frenzied drive feel like home, particularly in light of the presence of Algiz?

Algiz provides the warrior stance, and Tiwaz tells us what to do with it. Tiwaz is the rune of the fight of our life coming to the most heart-rending ends. It’s the life’s dream not becoming reality, ever. It is, however, the Plan B that makes the sun rise, and gives us the passion to care that it did, in spite of everything.

That’s what it really comes down to. Even on the darkest of days, somewhere, somehow, intellectually we know it will pass. Mustering the passion to care that it will pass, so much so that we already feel connected to the state of being beyond despair while it’s still happening… that’s Tiwaz. That’s the heart of self that we’ll find this week.

Disting and Imbolc are the times we seasonally prepare the land for the planting season ahead. Let the Runes guide you in the best way to prepare for what lies ahead for you. The Weekly Rune -Hagalaz (25 January 2015)

For the week 25 January 2015

Still under the carefully placed dominoes of half-month rune Perthro, Hagalaz sheds some insight on what to expect once they fall.

This week, we are faced with the reality of radical change. Hagalaz often portends a blunt shift that is unexpected. The presence of Perthro could soften that transition a bit, in that its emphasis on orlog (primal law) hints that through wyrd (our choices), we are the ones who set up the circumstances for change to happen. Ultimately, we set up the dominoes. We don’t have total control over how they will fall, though given our awareness of how we got where we are, we can have a pretty good idea of how things are going to go.

Perthro will be the runic governance through mid-day, 28 January.  After that point,  we become under the focus of half-month stave, Algiz (through 13 February), which absolutely saves the day. Learn more about the half-month transition and its impact on our lives on Patreon.

Last week, Ingwaz indicated that we need to examine how relationships play into the point of the present, or how they influence our power. This week Hagalaz draws on that wisdom further, and hints that changes are coming.  Given Perthro’s influence, the game is wide open. However, I’d put my money on a reaction from other parties of interest, in the very relationships that were last week’s focus.

The thing is, that reaction means the work you did last week worked.

Whatever peace there is to be had about the changes coming this week, it comes from within.

Celebrate the Small Things – Gratitude

My weekly gratitude post, in the Celebrate the Small Things [ongoing] Blog Hop.

I’m thankful to be getting over the plague that has gripped our household for two weeks. Now where was I?

I’m grateful for being the closest to pain-free as I’ve been in about a year-and-a-half. Amazing!

I’m thankful for a fabulous start to the Two-Year Shamanic Intensive.

I’m thankful for creativity coming in ways that I can grab, hold on to, manifest, and let go.

I’m grateful for the strange new paths that open up when I stop clinging to old ones that didn’t work.

What are you grateful for this week? How will you show thanks? Who is grateful for you?

The Weekly Rune – Ingwaz (18 January 2015)

For the week 18 January 2015

At the risk of sounding repetitive, the runes for this week are the same as last. The staves don’t often repeat in my weekly casts, so this emphasis on holding steady hints at work-in-progress.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, the runes for this week are the same as last. The staves don’t often repeat in my weekly casts, so this emphasis on holding steady hints at work-in-progress.

Still under the awareness of Perthro as the half-month rune and with Ingwaz as our touchstone for the week, we are faced with feelings around connecting with inner creative force, and dealing with dynamics stirred by that effort. Perthro will be the runic governance through 28 January.

Learn more about the half-month rune’s impact on Patreon.

Last week, we talked about how Ingwaz is connected to the Germanic god Ing, and how it carries a certain-push-comes-to-shove need to get back on track. That this stave repeats this week doesn’t necessarily mean this effort hasn’t been made, though it is still in process. Stay the course.

What is certain about this stave is the gestation of a creative process into being, and given Ingwaz’s influence, that process is some part of how you create yourself with others. Examine your relationships. What is you in specific dynamics? What is mask? What is defense? What is simply someone else’s and it’s time to put it down? Perthor questions the feelings provoked around relationships. These are the considerations of this combination of staves, especially x2.

Perthro is stirring feelings around realizing it’s time to roll the dice, again. Ingwaz gives a clear glimpse into the True Self’s way to respond to what’s rolled.
