GOOD MORNING. MONDAY!

Just had to share...this made my morning :).

What company, eh?!

Now of course I know this is not "real", it's just a matter of timing, of random listing, as the reader adds other books, other favourite authors...

But just for that minute, it made me smile :).

REVIEW OF MUSE - a lot of punch!

I've had a lovely review of Muse (BUY LINK!) from Julie Hayes at Anime Radius . The site covers all kinds of reviews, from fiction to games to anime.

(Excerpt) Muse is a very romantic tale – as romantic as the art which inspired it. As a character, Matteo steps right from the canvas, the perfect foil to Gavin. The more we see of Gavin, the more we understand what drives – or doesn't drive - him, the secret he is withholding from everyone until Matteo's arrival. Matteo is the yin to his...

Review of FREEMAN - "Dark, Rich & Very Mysterious"!

I've had a lovely review of Freeman at Vulpes Libris .

Titled: "Now for Something Dark, Rich and Very Mysterious..." LOL

(Excerpt) The strength of Freeman's voice is gripping and sure, but Clare London spins a different take on her protagonist from the classic examples, both with Freeman being gay and also with the amount of information he holds back both from the reader and himself. It is only gradually that key details are fed in, an approach that adds to the tension and sense of mystery. We k...

VIRAL MANIA at Chez Clare

This is just a silly post, but an eye-opener for me! :)

Son#2 and I watched "Britain's Got Talent" on Saturday - it's fun to share it with him.
One of the dance groups 'Twist and Pulse' was the surprise contender of the night - they looked a bit dorky then were absolutely fantastic! (I assume these "surprises" are all choreographed, but it's still fun to watch!)

Son#2 was on Facebook at the same time (I know, sorry, we're a very geeky family LOL), and as soon as they finished, up popped a new gr...

WOW for a gloomy Friday afternoon

It's been one of those weeks...
Work is hell, family either ill or tricky, eyes hurt from too much spreadsheet work, a weekend ahead of me full of challenging edits, and the threat of having to prepare the local Scout Group annual accounts when we're not even part of the committee any more (don't go there, don't go there...).

And then I get this email. I hope the sender doesn't mind me posting it.

Re: FREEMAN

Hi Ms. London

Just finished reading your book in the early hours of this morning, and...

hmmm....

I'm editing a novel where one of the main characters has a name that I've used elsewhere in a published short story.

Do you think it matters?

I'm not so arrogant I think people will read the novel and think back to the short (i.e. assuming they'll read both LOL) and chastise me for lack of imagination.

But does it matter to you? I know some names get over-used, some names are the height of fashion, at one time or another. I just *like* this one :).

I'm not a great fan of fancy names, made up or w...

REVIEW AND VOTING?!

Freeman - BUY LINK

BLURB: Freeman's return to the city is quiet, without fuss -- the way he likes things. But, he's missed by more people than he thought: his ex-wife, his ex-lover, and his ex-business partner. One wants friendship, another one intimacy. The third just wants him the hell gone again.

Freeman -- private, controlled -- hasn't time or appetite for trouble. But, when he strikes up an unusual, ill-advised friendship with young, lively, amoral Kit, it seems trouble's come looking for ...
