San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Portfolio Reviews!

Are you a penciler, inker or colorist looking to make the leap into comics? Are you reliable, fast and good under pressure? Do you want to work with some talented writers to tell awesome stories? Are you attending San Diego Comic-Con? Do you want to work with the insanely intelligent, very, very cool guys and gals at Skybound? If you answered “YES” to the first four questions and at least “I’m willing to put up with you” to the fifth, then you should make time for our SDCC 2018 portfolio reviews!

We’ll be accepting open art submissions from aspiring comic artists, with an editor on-hand to review and critique select portfolios. This is your chance to get some one-on-one time with one of the fastest growing companies in comics! You absolutely do not want to miss this opportunity!

Looking to submit? Here’s the info:

    01. Bring your portfolio to the Skybound Booth #2729 (we’re there with IMAGE COMICS) at any time from Wednesday, July 18th through noon on Saturday, July 21nd and drop it off with a booth volunteer.

    02. When you drop off your portfolio, please make sure it contains your full name, cell phone number and e-mail address (this is really important).

    03. If we think you might have the right stuff, we will reach out to set up a review time on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

    04. Please make sure to only include photocopies of art in any submitted portfolios. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for any lost or misplaced artwork.

    05. While we welcome all artists to submit, portfolio reviews will be primarily focused on interior sequential pages (pencils, inks and colors).

    06. And as much as we’d love to review every single portfolio, we unfortunately must restrict the number of portfolios we review each day to a limited amount.

Invincible The Animated Series Greenlit!

The INVINCIBLE comic series might have ended, but we told you it wouldn’t be the end of Mark Grayson and friends. We’re insanely excited to announce today that INVINCIBLE is being adapted into an animated series as part of our partnership with Amazon Studios! That’s right! Not only is the best superhero comic in the universe being adapted as a movie, it’s about to become the best animated series in the universe as well! We’re super early in development right now so we don’t have much to share with you, but check out the full press release below and, of course, keep it tuned here on the site and on our social channels for all the latest news! AMAZON STUDIOS GREENLIGHTS INVINCIBLE FROM THE WALKING DEAD CREATOR ROBERT KIRKMAN

Series to premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 19, 2018 – Amazon Studios today announced it has greenlit the hour-long animated series Invincible from acclaimed writer Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Oblivion Song) co-creator Cory Walker and artist Ryan Ottley. Based on the popular comic book series of the same name, the eight-episode series will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.

“Robert has an uncanny talent to predict the zeitgeist, and we are incredibly excited to see him break boundaries in an animated one-hour format,” said Sharon Yguado, Head of Scripted Genre Programming, Amazon Studios. “In a world saturated with superhero fare, we trust Robert to subvert expectations while encapsulating a story filled with heart and adrenaline. We love his ambitious plan for the show and believe it will look like nothing else on television.”

Robert Kirkman commented, “I couldn’t be more proud of the series Cory Walker, Ryan Ottley and I did together for over 15 years. To know our characters will live on in multiple iterations in other media is almost too exciting to bear! About Invincible

From Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker and based on the Skybound / Image comic of the same name, Invincible is an adult animated superhero show that revolves around Mark Grayson, a normal teenager except for the fact that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father’s tutelage. The series is suspenseful, action-filled, and emotion-packed, yet builds upon poignant and heartwarming moments of love, friendship, and humanity.
