SKYBOUND ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES INVESTOR-BACKED FANDOM SITE GAMMARAY

GammaRay is backed by Skybound Entertainment, Skydance, Third Wave Ventures, and C Ventures

 

August 6, 2018 – Today multi-platform entertainment company Skybound Entertainment, which is managed by partners Robert Kirkman, David Alpert and Jon Goldman, announced the launch of GammaRay, a content platform that explores and dissects every universe of pop culture. GammaRay is backed by partners Skydance, Third Wave Ventures and C Ventures.

Leading the venture will be David Alpert (The Walking Dead) as GammaRay CEO. Joining the team, and reporting to Alpert, as GammaRay COO is Do Duong. Do joins GammaRay from All Def Digital, a digital entertainment brand for fans of hip hop, where he served as Vice President of Business Operations and Analytics. During his time there, Do grew social platforms to over 300MM monthly video views and 6.5M fans and subscribers.

“Skybound’s track record engaging super fans and building franchises that cross traditional, digital, social, and e-commerce gives GammaRay an incredible leg up,” said GammaRay COO Do Duong. Duong continued, “Even in stealth mode over the past few months, we’ve been adding hundreds of thousands, and soon millions, of users and video views and see a clear path to overtaking the current leaders in our category.”

The Fighting Show

A veteran trainer in the world of fighting and stunt work for film and television walks a host through the techniques and history behind some of pop culture’s most renowned fight scenes and characters. The show explores the context behind these fights while breaking down the realism of the scenes.

Popcraft

The show celebrates some of pop culture’s favorite artists and their fandom. Whether it’s creating portraits of famous anime characters from unconventional materials, sculpting detailed busts of Chewbacca, or throwing it back to elementary school days by painting a gruesome shark attack from Jaws with watercolors.

The List Show

A nutritious, weekly, fan-pop list show with just enough insight to get you inspired while keeping it short and sweet.
