Excerpt

The fear and unease she’d tried to bury resurfaced. Her heartbeat quickened and sweat thickened across her skin, causing her t-shirt to cling tighter against her body. She’d been here before. Skye didn’t have to search her memory. She’d lived, breathed inside these four walls as an orphan.

After passing several doorways, Skye stepped into a room to the right. A floorboard creaked beneath her weight. Broken blinds hindered the sunlight from struggling through a large bay window. A couple of desks, decades old sat like large bull frogs, bulky, brown and weathered. Laughter and tears echoed through the past and into the room, faint but unmistakable memories from Skye’s past.

Other children had lived here and died.

She paused, frowned.

A sound, possibly a footstep, resounded from the hall. She backed up against the wall beside the door. Forcing air in and out of her nose, slowly, quietly, she waited and listened.

Silence.

Cautiously, she re-entered the hall and found it empty, dark and ominous. Moving as quietly as possible, she eased back down the hall from where she’d started. By one doorway, ‘Office’ was stenciled in faded gray across the open door. Sadly even if there were filing cabinets inside, she didn’t think she’d find anything useful inside them. Still…

She slipped inside, past what looked like a waiting room and into an office with three tiers of metal files in the same faded beige as the walls outside. She eased two drawers open and found both empty.

Exactly where would years of records be?

Helplessness gnawed into her stomach. There must be a storage unit somewhere. They couldn’t have all been destroyed, could they?

As the drawer scraped shut, the noise almost masked the rustle of clothing. That and the sigh of someone’s breath alerted her too late. She gasped. A hand roughly clamped over her mouth, locking the breath in her lungs. Before she had a chance to latch onto the drawer handle, the person jerked her backward. Her fingers clutched at air.

Focusing past the panic, she forced her mind on the drawer and stared hard at the cabinet. The drawer flew from the cabinet, rushing past and grazing her shoulder but missing her attacker. Damn it. She couldn’t get to the person behind her without hitting herself.

Trying to bite at the hand across her mouth, she struggled against the steel-like arm around her stomach. A man. His scent of soap and aftershave filled her senses. Skye stiffened in shock.

David whipped her around and pushed her up against the nearest wall, his hand firmly latched over her mouth. The buckle of his belt dug into her stomach. She shivered as the heat of his body scorched through her clothing and into her skin as fear and a sick sense of excitement rushed through her limbs.

“Shhh,” he whispered by her ear, his breath feathering her hair back from her temple. “We’re not alone.”

Teaseday – Excerpt from Her Fallen Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 2) – Plus FREE ebook!

Today’s tease comes from the book Her Fallen Angel, which is the second book in my popular Her Angel romance series. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…

“How long?” Serenity released her arm and went into a large beech wood kitchen. She looked back at Annelie and then frowned in concentration. “I mean… you have been together how long?”

“We’re not exactly together.” Annelie placed her backpack down on the tiled floor, leaned against the counter and looked over her shoulder, afraid that Lukas and Apollyon were going to follow them.

What were they talking about in the living room? She could see them through the door and they looked deep in conversation, both sitting on the beige couches that formed an L in the bright white room and both frowning. Was Lukas telling him about his appeal and what had happened? She felt as though she should be with him, giving him support, not idly talking in the kitchen.

Lukas removed his backpack, glanced over at her and smiled. She motioned towards herself and then him and he shook his head and waved a hand at her. She took that to mean for her to talk to Serenity. Perhaps it was best to give him time to talk business with Apollyon, and there was a lot she wanted to ask Serenity. Annelie felt as though she was her best chance for getting answers. Far better than asking Apollyon.

“I only just found out that he’s an angel.” Annelie tore her eyes away from him. “How was it for you when you realised?”

“They’re angels?” Serenity gasped and then smiled, her English improving every second and making Annelie feel terrible for not being able to speak French. “I have known all my life they exist.”

Annelie snuck a glance at Lukas. He was watching her and she smiled at the same time as he did. His head tilted and his gaze slowly dropped to her body. He definitely didn’t need coffee to get him going, and at this point, she didn’t either. She kept telling herself to keep her distance until she had figured out what she was going to do but her heart wasn’t listening, and neither was her body. She still wanted him.

“Would you like a drink? I have English tea.”

“That would be lovely.” Annelie dragged her attention back to Serenity. She caught snippets of Lukas’s conversation while Serenity made a pot of tea. He was telling Apollyon about what had happened to him.

Apollyon had seen angels in some pool in Hell. Lukas looked pleased to hear that and she smiled at how happy he seemed. There was hope in his expression again and she was glad to see it. The conversation shifted course and Apollyon mentioned her name. She wanted to keep listening to hear what Lukas would say about her, but Serenity stole her attention.

“Would you like tea outside?” Serenity placed the pot and cups onto a tray with some small pastries, and as much as Annelie wanted to ask her to wait so she could hear what the men were saying about her, she smiled and nodded.

It was rude to eavesdrop anyway.

Annelie followed Serenity out onto a large rooftop balcony overlooking a wide quiet car-lined road and a leafy park beyond.

“You have a beautiful home.” She stared out at the view, feeling even more as though she lived in a hovel.

Serenity smiled and set the tray down on an elegant green cast iron table. “It was not always this way. I had a very petite place once. Apollyon has big tastes.”

Annelie nodded. Having seen Lukas’s apartment, she could easily believe it was Apollyon’s decision to live in such a place. She sat down opposite Serenity and thought everything over as Serenity tied her long blonde hair up and then poured the tea.

“I wore that look once.” Serenity offered her the cup of tea. Annelie took it.

“What look?”

“The one that says you do not believe an angel can love.” Serenity placed a pastry on a small plate and set it down in front of Annelie. She smiled knowingly. “He will make you see otherwise.”

“Did Apollyon change your mind?”

“My dark angel?” Serenity’s smile widened. “He is… how do you say… very persuasive. I was unsure, like you… but many angels love mortals. It is their choice.”

Annelie was starting to believe that. If she wanted it, she could be with Lukas. She did want it, but she was still scared of reaching out and taking it. She sipped her tea and then sighed.

“He is sweet on you, non?” Serenity stirred her tea and looked past Annelie to the open glass doors behind her. “He is nice. He has a good aura.”

“Apollyon said you were a witch.” Annelie took another sip of her tea. “Can you feel things about Lukas?”

“He will not hurt you… if that is your fear.” Serenity leaned back into her chair and smiled, the beautiful green park as her backdrop. “I thought it too, that I would have my heart broken, but a year has gone and I am still crazy for him, and I think he is crazy for me.”

Annelie could believe that too. The way Apollyon had held Serenity, had carefully kissed her, and the love that had been in his eyes, all of it spoke to Annelie and was another step towards convincing her to give things with Lukas a chance.

“Do you love Lukas?”

Sensual Sunday – Hot Snippet from Her Warrior Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 3) – Plus FREE EBOOK!

Sensual Sunday is brought to you today by Her Warrior Angel, which is the third book in my popular Her Angel romance series. Sensual Sunday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Sunday’s sensual snippet…

Einar held the door to the hotel suite open for Taylor. She passed him and flicked on the lights. The living area between the two bedrooms held her attention in a way that wasn’t natural. There wasn’t much to look at. Two gilt-framed cream couches, a wooden coffee table and a flat screen TV on a side cupboard between the two tall windows opposite the door. Was she avoiding looking at him?

Angels had acute senses. He could feel her fear and desire. They mirrored his own feelings so perfectly that he hadn’t noticed them as hers at first. It didn’t help that she insisted on flirting with him one moment and trying to push him away the next. Was she as confused about this as he was? Both of them knew it wasn’t right, even if it did feel as though it was.

Taylor walked to the door of the second bedroom. Einar watched her backside sway and appreciatively raked his gaze over her. She was more than tempting. He wanted her without a doubt, but no good would come of it. She knew what he was, and why they couldn’t do this.

She stopped at the door and looked back at him. Her black hair swept over her shoulder in a graceful wave, blending into her leather jacket, and her blue eyes held his, mesmerising him.

He went to her without thinking, his feet moving of their own volition, carrying him towards the one thing he shouldn’t want but the one thing he couldn’t resist.

Taylor.

She was beautiful.

And he was starting not to care about her blood or what she was, because all of that made her into the woman standing before him. This beautiful woman with so much passion and fear in her eyes, so much conflict that he wanted to touch her cheek and kiss her, and show her that it didn’t matter where they had come from in life. It only mattered that they were falling for each other.

Einar almost laughed at himself.

What foolish thoughts were those?

She flirted with him but that didn’t mean she actually wanted him. For all he knew, this was some devious demonic game to her, a challenge to make an angel fall.

He stopped close beside her, staring deep into her eyes and trying to decipher her true feelings. A sparkle of tears wet her lashes and for a flicker of a moment, pure fear replaced any trace of desire in her eyes.

No.

This wasn’t a game.

This was real, for both of them. They were both scared. She was just fighting it better than he was.

He had given up the moment he had touched her, and she had touched him, last night.

Taylor stepped up to him, pressed her hand against the breastplate of his armour, and tiptoed. He couldn’t move as she brought her mouth towards his, her eyes closing, and kissed him. It was soft, tentative, and mind-blowing. Any hint of reserve he had shattered in that instant. He started to kiss her but she pulled away and took a step backwards towards the open door of her room. She trailed her fingers down his breastplate and smiled.

“Thanks for the date, Romeo.” With that, she turned away into her room and closed the door on him.

Einar stood staring at the white panels, breathing hard and struggling to regain control. Was she trying to break him? Was she just toying with him or was she serious? He fought the urge to kick her door down and ask her, and kiss her, and make love with her. Every inch of him tightened at the thought of burying himself in her sweet body and slaking his thirst for her.

He pressed his hand against the door and drew deep breaths, wrestling for some sort of command over his feelings.

She moved around on the other side, coming closer one moment and drifting farther away the next. Einar listened, trying to convince himself to turn around and go to his room. It was impossible.

He didn’t care if it was real or not.

He didn’t care about the consequences.

Einar kicked the door and it burst open, slamming against the wall on the other side. Taylor gasped and his gaze sought her out.

She stood at the foot of the white double bed, clutching her black top to her bare chest, her blue eyes wide.

He breathed hard, glanced over her, and then crossed the room in two strides and pulled her into his arms. She dropped her top and pressed her hands against his breastplate when he dipped his head and captured her lips. He crushed them with a passionate kiss, his tongue delving beyond the barrier of her teeth and into her mouth to tangle with hers. She moaned, leaned into him, and slid her hands up, settling her arms around his neck. He shivered when tingles cascaded down his spine and she buried her fingers into his hair.

It didn’t matter that it was forbidden.

It only mattered that they wanted this, needed this, and had feelings for each other.

To Hell with it.

One of Heaven’s top hunters, Einar is on a mission to uncover why an angel was working with demons. When he finds the first demon fighting a beautiful woman, he intervenes and saves her life, even when he knows Heaven will hold it against him. The alluring, lethally seductive female is half demon.

There is no love in this world more forbidden than that between an angel and a demon.

Taylor vowed long ago to protect her city from the lowest demons and she isn’t about to let an angel waltz in and take over, and she’s certainly not about to fall in love with him, even if he is gorgeous. Determined to do her job as a hunter, she convinces the dangerously sensual warrior to team up with her, but as the mission leads them deep into the city’s demon underworld, desire flares white-hot between them and not even fear of the consequences can stop the flames of their passion from consuming them both.

Can a love so forbidden ever have a happy ending or are they destined to break each other’s hearts?

Teaseday – Excerpt from Her Guardian Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 4) – Plus FREE ebook!

Today’s tease comes from the book Her Guardian Angel , which is the fourth book in my popular Her Angel romance series and the first of the novels in that series too. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…

Amelia swam towards him and then around him, and his anger faded away when she came to stand behind him and stroked his back.

“They’re beautiful. Are they really a curse?” she whispered, her warm fingertips tracing the wings marked on his shoulder blades.

Marcus stilled, his focus so intently fixed on her that every light touch stirred his insides, fanning his desire for her. Her breath washed over his wet skin, teasing it and he closed his eyes, wanting to absorb how he felt when she was so close to him. Warm. Hungry. Mad for her.

“Apparently so,” he said and she came around him. He caught her bare waist and drew her flush against him. She surprised him by taking hold of his shoulders, lifting herself up and wrapping her legs around his waist. He groaned and clutched her backside to support her, and then remembered the flimsy thing she was wearing on her lower half. He pressed his fingers into her bare bottom and groaned again, his body stirring and aching as he familiarised himself with her soft flesh.

“How did you get them?” Amelia leaned in and peppered his shoulder with kisses, gradually working her way along towards his collarbone and then his neck. He couldn’t think straight to answer her when she was touching him like this. It seemed like torture to have to think at all. She placed a single wet kiss on his jaw and then leaned back and rested her hands on his chest. Her pupils were wide in the low light, darkening her eyes, and he stared into them. “Well?”

She really expected him to answer.

“I got drunk and when I came around, I was sleeping face down and couldn’t call my wings. Heaven called me back to them and I discovered that someone had drawn this curse on me whilst I was unconscious.”

Her hands ran up his chest to his shoulders and then she leaned towards him and caressed his shoulder blades, her breasts pressing against him.

“That’s terrible.”

He murmured his agreement and stared at her mouth.

“It explains why you didn’t want to drink the wine. And you’re really an angel?” Her eyes searched his.

Marcus nodded.

She glanced away and a sense of sorrow flowed through him. He frowned and ducked to one side, trying to see her face so he could understand the sudden change in her emotions. Her gaze met his and the edge of hurt in it compelled him to comfort her even though he wasn’t sure what was wrong.

“What is it?” he whispered, his brow furrowing as he waited for her to speak.

“Einar said that you aren’t omniscient… or some fancy word… that you couldn’t have stopped my mother from dying… I wished that you could have.”

He did too. Watching her grieve had been one of the most difficult trials he had ever endured.

“I wish I could have been there for you.” He let the confession slip out quietly, unsure of whether it would only hurt her further to know that he had seen her suffering and had done nothing about it.

Amelia rested her head on his shoulder and sighed, her breath skittering over his collarbones. Marcus closed his eyes, leaned his cheek against her forehead, and held her close to him, comforting her in the way he had wanted to then. Waves lapped against them, rocking them back and forth. It had been a long time since he had felt such peace.

“I could sleep here, like this. It’s so hard to sleep these days.” Her words were a bare whisper and she sagged against him.

He remembered the couch in her apartment and the blanket. “You haven’t been sleeping well?”

She shook her head. “Not since that break in.”

Marcus frowned. He hadn’t thought to piece the two together. Her mother had died during a break in and one had occurred in the apartment building they shared. It had frightened her and he hadn’t noticed it. That was why her ex had shaken her up by trying to bang her door down. She had feared him breaking in and hurting her.

He wrapped his arms tighter around her and pressed her close to him, enveloping her slender form in his protective embrace. Desire to call his wings out and wrap those around her too, to cocoon her completely, ran deep in his veins but he held them at bay.

“I will never let anything happen to you, Amelia. I promised you that and I mean to keep my word.” The hardness in his voice surprised him as much as the intensity of the emotions that beat in his heart at the thought of her coming under attack and being afraid.

He pressed a kiss to her forehead, rested his lips there for a few heartbeats of time, and then drew back. Amelia emerged from his embrace, her eyes sparkling with tears. He kissed away the ones that had fallen onto her cheeks. She raised her head into his kisses, until their lips were a hair’s breadth apart.

“You really are an angel.” Her lips brushed his as she spoke, stirring his passion.

When she went to speak again, he swooped on her lips, silencing her. Her words became a quiet moan that sent a shiver through him and he held her closer, one hand supporting her backside and the other splayed between her shoulder blades.

He didn’t want to talk anymore.

He wanted to show her without words how she made him feel, how much he craved her taste and her touch, and that he needed her. He hadn’t promised to keep her safe and protect her because he was an angel. He had made that vow because he was a man, and he cared about her.

Sensual Sunday – Hot Snippet from Unleash (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 6)

Sensual Sunday is brought to you today by Unleash, which is the sixth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Sensual Sunday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Sunday’s sensual snippet…

Snow captured Aurora’s jaw and drew her back to him, lowering his head at the same time.

He swept his lips across hers, earning a breathy sigh that verged on a moan, and gathered her body closer to his, settling his free hand in the small of her back and then sliding it around to clutch her hip.

The feel of her soft flesh giving beneath his fingers was divine, stoking his desire up another degree. He wanted to run his hands over every supple delicious inch of her but feared it would frighten her away or she would reject him if he tried to slake his need to touch her.

She tasted sweet and addictive, and he knew he would crave her forever.

Aurora responded quicker this time, her small hands sliding up his damp bare chest, teasing him with the warmth of her palms. She clutched his shoulders, fingertips pressing into his flesh in the same hungry way his grasped her side, and tilted her head and kissed him, her actions choppy and a little clumsy, but enchanting all the same.

Rain began to fall in earnest, fat drops that were cold against his bare skin, but he didn’t feel them. Didn’t notice anything while his lips danced with Aurora’s, his heart on fire and his soul filling with light.

He trembled, nerves threatening to get the better of him even when he was battling them, trying to shut them down so Aurora didn’t notice them. He didn’t want her to think him a weak and inexperienced male, even when he felt like one as he kissed her, drowning in her taste and her heat, afraid he would do something to make her pull away and leave him.

Snow struggled to keep the kiss soft, a tender exploration of her lips and a gentle easing into her first experience. He grew more confident as she kissed him, her mouth working against his, growing bolder with each sweep of her lips.

Her fingertips pressed into his shoulders, clutching him tightly, and she leaned into him, mashing her breasts against his chest. Her heart thundered against his, a frantic rhythm that called to his base hungers, telling him that she wanted more. His body responded in the only way it knew, growing hard for her. Painfully so.

He ached to take things further and he wasn’t sure how long he would be able to deny that need, even when he knew he should.

She loosed her first moan and tensed, as though the sound of pleasure emanating from her throat and heart had startled her. He smiled against her lips and deepened the kiss, stroking his tongue over her lips so they parted for him. He teased another moan from her when their tongues touched, causing his to tingle and a shiver to tumble down his spine. He needed more.

Aurora was way ahead of him.

She delved her tongue into his mouth and groaned low in her throat, the sound conveying pure unadulterated bliss. Snow groaned with her and tackled her tongue, taking control of the kiss again, showing her that two could play at her game. She upped the stakes.

Aurora clutched his shoulders, tiptoed and moulded her hot body against his front, her belly pressing into his hard cock and tearing another moan from him. She ran one hand up his neck to his hair and her fingers tangled in it, nails scraping his scalp, driving him out of his mind.

Rain poured down on them and thunder rolled menacingly overhead.

Snow planted his hands against her lower back, gathered her flush against him and leaned over her, kissing her harder and losing himself in sensations that felt foreign to him. It had been that long since he had held a woman like this and kissed one.

He shook that thought away. He had never held a woman like this, clinging to her as though his world would end if she escaped his grasp, and had never kissed like this either, his passion pouring out of him because it was overflowing and he couldn’t contain it. A dam had burst and he was powerless to resist the violent flow that swept him along, pulling him under at times until he felt as though he was drowning.

Gasping for more.

Lightning cracked above them, the flash registering even with his eyes closed, and the hairs on the back of his neck prickled. His senses blared a warning he was too far gone to heed.

The electricity in the air was nothing compared with the intense energy that blazed between him and Aurora.

Their desire put it to shame, burning at a billion volts, far beyond their control.

Aurora ran her short nails down his arms, clawing at his wet skin, and he growled and gathered her closer.

“Need you,” he husked and she didn’t deny him.

Unleash - paranormal vampire romance BookUnleash

Felicity Heaton

A powerful vampire lost deep in his bloodlust, Snow is a savage animal, mindless with rage and a thirst for violence, and trapped with no hope of awakening from an endless nightmare… until a song draws him up from the abyss, restoring his sanity but leaving him haunted by the sweet feminine scent of lilies and snow, and fragmented familiar lyrics.

When the mysterious and beautiful songstress reappears in Snow’s room at Vampirerotique, she awakens a fierce protective streak and stirs dark desires that drive him to claim her as his female, even when he knows his touch will destroy her innocence.

A single forbidden taste is all it takes to unleash emotions in Aurora that she shouldn’t possess, tearing her between duty and desire, and luring her into surrendering to her wildfire passion and embracing hungers that burn so hotly they threaten to consume them both.

One act of kindness can lead to one thousand acts of sin though, each a black mark against the bearer’s soul and another grain of sand that slips through an hourglass. The clock is ticking and time is almost up. Can beauty save the beast?

WIP Wednesday – Wicked Angels, Dark Elves, Jaguar Shifters and Demon Kings – oh my!

I have returned from my holiday, caught up on my work, and have finally completed the first draft of the next Her Angel romance series book, HER WICKED ANGEL.

It was such a relief to finish the first draft of this book. I had an epiphany last week, realising the majority of the chapters I had outlined but had yet to write were more suited to the next novel in the series. I talked it over with my writer buddy, Alexandra Marell / C A Nicks, and decided to follow my heart on this one and shift parts of the rest of the outline into the next book in the series. It makes far more sense like that. I think that was the reason I had petered out towards the end of the first draft. I knew in my heart those scenes were better suited to the next novel, but had been blind to it at the same time, leaving me with a niggling feeling that something wasn’t right.

With the first draft of Her Wicked Angel completed and sections of the book in the hands of some very helpful and lovely beta readers, I moved on to my next project. Editing the first Eternal Mates book!

I have a title for this book but it’s a secret at the moment. My first task on this project was reading the book to reacquaint myself with it and make the switch from writing about one world to another. I sat down on Sunday evening and all of Monday, losing myself in the book. I finished my read through on Tuesday morning, and I really wanted to dive straight into reading the next book in the series. I probably would have, but I haven’t even written it yet. I’m taking this as a good sign though, and I’m confident that you guys will probably want to do the same when you finish this one. There is a lot of story packed into the pages, with hot new potential heroes to steal your hearts.

I introduce five new hotties in this book alone. There are three dark elves, who are the ancestors of the vampires, and therefore heal via taking blood, so expect some biting! There’s a devoted bachelor jaguar shifter and a rough-yet-so-damn-masculine demon king in the mix too.

Can you tell I’m excited about this series?

Right now, I’m adding all the notes and changes I wrote on my printed version of the book into the word document, and I’ll be cracking on with the edit tomorrow.

Oh, and during a break at the weekend, I drew a picture of Vail from the series. He’s bad, dangerous, and a little bit crazy, but firmly has my heart right now. Click on him to see him bigger!

As a little explanation, the elves have armour like dragon scales and it forms a sort of second-skin. He gets to wear a helmet that’s pretty cool too… and all elves have purple eyes under normal circumstances. Should help you all picture the elves when you meet them for real in the books!

In non-writing news, I had a great break in Italy, and I’m feeling much brighter now that Her Wicked Angel is finished. I’m also really enjoying archery and I’m improving now, finally figuring out the things I’m doing wrong and correcting them!

Since I’m moving on to talking about the Eternal Mates series in my WIP Wednesday posts, I’ll share a snippet from the first book today… all first draft because I’m only just writing it so forgive any errors…

Olivia’s knuckles burned.

The man she had planted on his backside didn’t look as though she had dealt much damage with her blow though. She had the feeling she had caused herself more pain than she had caused him. She stood over him, letting him see the full extent of her anger in her eyes. It was a little over two days since he had tried to take a chunk out of her throat and her fury over it hadn’t dropped from a boil to a simmer. The twin wounds on her neck were still sore, irritating her, a constant reminder of what he had done.

She had thought about how this meeting would go many times during the course of the past fifty hours, considering all the scenarios, but she had never once imagined it would actually happen and she would see him again.

She had definitely never imagined he would kidnap her from her apartment.

Where the hell was she?

Her gazed darted between him and the room, trying to take it all in without giving him a chance to attack her unawares.

If he tried anything funny, she was aiming lower and with her foot. He was anatomically similar to a human male and that meant she could deal him a blow he would definitely feel, all without causing herself a single ounce of pain.

The room around her was dark, the walls and floor made of stone that verged on black, and the ceiling made up of a rich sort of timber. The arched windows at intervals along the wall to her right and the tall arched door a few metres behind her on the same wall let in a large amount of light though. The world outside was bright. Far brighter than it should have been. He had taken her in the dead of night. Were they on the other side of the world now?

The man picked himself up off the floor and she scooted back a step, brandishing her fists in front of her. He cocked an eyebrow at her and rubbed his mouth, his purple eyes darkening. She knew that look. She had pissed him off. Not what she had aimed to do but it was satisfying nonetheless.

“You have a hell of a lot of nerve, Mister. You take liberties with my vital fluids and then you kidnap me?” She stood her ground when he rose to his full height, reminding her just how tall he was, the honed muscles of his bare torso stretching with his action.

Olivia refused to let her eyes drift down and take in that delicious body. He had hurt her. He was some kind of demon and he had bitten her, and she’d had enough damn men in her life like that. She wasn’t looking for a repeat performance with the tall, dark and deadly slice of sexy standing before her. No way.

She really wasn’t.

“Do you intend to hurt me?” She was sure that he wasn’t likely to be honest and tell her if he was, but she had to ask.

He shook his head. “No. To hurt you would be to hurt myself.”

That sounded rather noble and romantic. She glanced around the room again. It was huge, and the furniture was solid wood and very ornate. Was she in a castle? This was how she had imagined castles looked. Why did he live in a castle?

“Female, tell me everything about how we met.” That commanding tone again. He was a man used to getting his way, issuing orders and having people obey, and he seemed to live in a castle on the other side of the world to her offices in London.

Her mind supplied that perhaps he was a knight or a prince. He had a regal bearing, and was handsome enough to be someone of noble blood. He acted like a stuck up bastard too.

He took a step towards her and Olivia moved back one, keeping the distance between them steady. She wasn’t sure whether he had other powers besides the ability to teleport, but she wasn’t going to risk letting him close the gap. He had already bitten her once. There was nothing to say he wasn’t going to try that trick again and drain her dry this time. She bristled at the memory of him attacking her and clenched her fists.

He halted and quirked an eyebrow at her. Maybe he had good senses like many demons and had detected her anger.

“Listen. I’ll answer your questions but if you come near me, I won’t be held responsible for the damage done to your private parts.”

He backed off a step. It seemed that even demons had preservation instincts when it came to their balls.

What do you think?

Sensual Sunday – Hot Snippet from Seventh Circle (Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 7)

Sensual Sunday is brought to you today by Seventh Circle, which is the seventh book in my popular Vampires Realm romance series. Sensual Sunday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Sunday’s sensual snippet…

She pushed Lincoln back and looked into his eyes. A flicker of confusion danced in their depths. Her hand cupped his cheek and her eyebrows furrowed. It had taken a vampire to make her feel alive and understand herself. Lincoln had never lied to her about what she was. He’d accepted her, had leant his strength to her and had faith in her.

She could feel all the love in him, raw and needy, weakening him but strengthening him at the same time. They weren’t alone anymore. They had each other.

Her hand slid around the back of his neck as he picked her up. Their eyes remained locked and she absorbed the feelings in his. No man had ever looked at her like that, ever understood who she was inside. Mark had never seen her as Lincoln had—weak, vulnerable, scared. Only with Lincoln had she opened up her heart.

He placed her down on the bed and leaned over her, his lips playing against her throat. Her eyes closed and she sighed as she leaned her head backwards into the pillow. This was what she wanted and she’d wanted it from the moment she’d set eyes on him.

Since then, she hadn’t been able to take her eyes off him.

A smile wound its way across her lips when she realised he was breathing. The fast pants matched hers, cutting the silence. Her fingers pushed into his hair and she held his mouth against her neck, relishing the way each kiss made a spark bolt through her. She wasn’t in any danger but it thrilled her all the same.

His lips found hers and chased away all sane thought. She felt it drift away and felt the rise in her desire replace it, compelling her to kiss him back. She did, her tongue tracing the gap between his lips and his teeth beyond them. He tasted metallic. Her tongue ran along his teeth and she realised they were still sharp. She probed the tip of one fang and squeaked when it suddenly changed, becoming blunt. He really didn’t want to hurt her. He didn’t want to lose control.

Control.

So small a word but with such importance.

Neither of them wanted to lose it.

Both of them were scared of this.

He rolled onto his back, taking her with him. She found herself straddling his hips, their groins against each other. Her heart sped, hammering against her chest as nerves threatened to consume her.

His fingers skimmed her stomach just below the hem of her cream baby doll t-shirt. She bit her lip, watching his hands catch the material and begin to raise it. Her arms went above her head, assisting him, before she’d even thought about what she was doing. He tossed her t-shirt to one side.

She swallowed and felt like covering herself when his gaze raked over her, dark with hunger.

Seventh Circle - paranormal vampire romance BookSeventh Circle

F E Heaton

Born with powers similar to a vampire’s, Lilith has spent her life hunting demons for Section Seven. On the same night as she watches a vampire kill her best friend, she is faced with her worst nightmare—a client who is not only attractive but a vampire.

Lincoln is a powerful pureblood with a problem. He’s caught up in a prophecy and has little time left to unravel the mystery of the contract between his lord and the Devil before he dies. When witches foretell that a vampire hunter will save his life, he’s prepared to work with his most hated enemy, but he isn’t prepared for the forbidden desire he feels when he meets her.

Their mutual attraction becomes difficult to deny as they work together but when Lincoln reveals the truth about her powers, will Lilith find the strength to embrace a side of herself that she wished didn’t exist? And when they discover Lilith’s role in the prophecy, how far will Lincoln go to save her?

Dark, sensual and fast-paced, Seventh Circle is a story of forbidden love so strong that it will save the world.
