Sensual Sunday – Excerpt from Unleash (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 6) plus FREE ebook
Sensual Sunday is brought to you today by Unleash, which is the sixth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Sensual Sunday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Sunday’s sensual snippet…
Aurora held her hand out to him and he locked the door and stalked back towards her, the sensual shift of his body with each step rekindling the embers of the fire he had ignited in her veins.
She let the black covers fall away from her and met him at the edge of the bed. There was something she had wanted to do to him ever since he had revealed the full design of his tattoo to her. He stopped before her and she didn’t hesitate. She caught the waist of his black trunks above his right hip and pulled the soft material down, exposing the full length of his ink.
Aurora leaned in and ran her tongue over it.
Snow growled, grasped her arms, and pulled her up onto her feet. She wobbled on the mattress. He tugged her closer to him until his body pressed flush against hers and his arms caged her like steel bands, and tilted his head back.
Aurora dipped her head and kissed him. He instantly took control of the kiss, turning it hard and fierce, filled with rough passion that thrilled her.
He had been so gentle with her on the rooftop that she had expected him to be like that again, but this savageness excited her, flooding her mind with exotic possibilities.
She tried to keep up with his kiss and when that failed, she gave herself over to her passion and nipped at his lower lip between kisses, eliciting dark erotic moans from him that rumbled through his big body and into hers.
Her body came alive, belly heating and tightening, desire overwhelming her as her breathing quickened and a need to feel Snow’s hands on her, palming and caressing, teasing her to another earth-shattering climax, consumed her. Snow’s aggressive kisses, the feel of his body against hers, and his unrelenting grip, wasn’t enough to satisfy her dark hungers. She needed more.
Aurora grabbed his shoulders and twisted with him, forcing him down onto the bed. His breath left him on impact and she didn’t give him a chance to draw another before she was astride his hips. She braced her hands against his broad chest, moaning at the feel of his hard muscles beneath her fingers, and kissed him again, capturing his mouth with aggression that surprised her.
Snow’s big hands caught her bare bottom and he palmed it just as she had desired as he kissed her, taking control of it once more, leading the frenzied dance. Elation swept through her, passion carrying her higher, until she felt dizzy and desperate, lost in her need to feel the pleasure only Snow could give to her.
She moaned into his mouth and shamelessly worked her body against his, rocking her core along his hard length. It felt wickedly good, luring her into surrendering more control, giving in to the decadent desires racing through her blood.
Snow rolled her onto her back and covered her body with his, slowly grinding his cock against her as he kissed her breathless.
It maddened her, tightening her stomach, leading to a strange concoction of bliss and frustration. It wasn’t enough.
She ached to have him use his strength on her, to unleash all of his passion and indulge his desires. She wanted to let go too, yearned to let her wildest fantasies rule her in this moment with Snow.
She had dreamed of him seizing command of her, using his powerful muscles to take control of their lovemaking and surrendering to his base instincts to have her. Just the thought of him doing such a thing had her quivering inside, hot and achy, on the verge of moaning breathlessly and begging him to take her.

Felicity Heaton
A powerful vampire lost deep in his bloodlust, Snow is a savage animal, mindless with rage and a thirst for violence, and trapped with no hope of awakening from an endless nightmare… until a song draws him up from the abyss, restoring his sanity but leaving him haunted by the sweet feminine scent of lilies and snow, and fragmented familiar lyrics.
When the mysterious and beautiful songstress reappears in Snow’s room at Vampirerotique, she awakens a fierce protective streak and stirs dark desires that drive him to claim her as his female, even when he knows his touch will destroy her innocence.
A single forbidden taste is all it takes to unleash emotions in Aurora that she shouldn’t possess, tearing her between duty and desire, and luring her into surrendering to her wildfire passion and embracing hungers that burn so hotly they threaten to consume them both.
One act of kindness can lead to one thousand acts of sin though, each a black mark against the bearer’s soul and another grain of sand that slips through an hourglass. The clock is ticking and time is almost up. Can beauty save the beast?

Author Spotlight – Shelley Munro – The Terrifying Taniwha plus Giveaway
I have a new guest author this week – the wonderful Shelley Munro! She’s here to share some unique New Zealand mythology and give away a copy of Make that Man Mine! I’ll hand things over to her now…
The Terrifying Taniwha
My name is Shelley Munro, and I was brought up hearing tales from Maori mythology. Everyone in New Zealand knows of Maui who fished our country from the sea. One particular beast from the legends has always fascinated me, and that’s the taniwha.
The taniwha (pronounced tan-e-far) is a Maori monster, a ferocious beast that ate naughty children and devoured warriors and other hapless people who found themselves in the wrong place.
If I were to describe a taniwha to a non-New Zealander I’d say they were a water dragon since many taniwha live in lakes, rivers and the sea. According to my research they were often called lizards by the Maori people. In Maori mythology lizards are symbols of death and the appearance of one is an ill omen. Our New Zealand lizards are small, but the idea of a large one inspired fear in everyone.
While most taniwha lived in water, some made their homes in caves or under mountains. Those earthquakes—caused by a taniwha! Some of the monsters could fly while others were capable of traveling underground. Some taniwha looked whale like.
Local Maori tribes were able to appease taniwha with offerings of food, and they received protection in return. But the taniwha were known to turn on their benefactors if the food supply dwindled or wasn’t good quality. Beware the grumpy taniwha!
Occasionally a man or woman transformed into a taniwha after carrying out bad deeds. Sometimes the transformation happened due to bad luck.
Taniwha can talk, which makes for easy communication, although I understand their growls can be fearsome too. The other thing about taniwha is that they like to take human wives and aren’t above stealing them if the opportunity presents itself.
I used the legend of the taniwha in my romance Make That Man Mine.
Make that Man Mine
by Shelley Munro
On her 25th birthday Emma Montrose decides it’s time to show bad boy investigator, Jack Sullivan she’s more than an efficient secretary. She’s a woman with needs, and she wants him.
Jack is a taniwha, a shifter, who requires women to satiate the sexual demands of the serpent within. Nothing more. Then work forces the reluctant Jack and ecstatic Emma undercover as a couple. Thrown together, pretence and reality blur generating hot sex laced with risk…
Of course, I changed the legend to suit my story. Jack, my taniwha, is a private person and working with Emma pushes his buttons in a big way. He’s fighting both his own taniwha instincts and Emma’s enthusiasm. I fear he’s fighting a losing battle!

Teaseday – Winter’s Kiss (Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 8) Plus FREE EBOOK
Today’s tease comes from the book Winter’s Kiss, which is book 8 in my popular Vampires Realm romance series.
Read on for this Tuesday’s tease… It’s a super long one today but I just couldn’t help including all of this scene as it’s one of my favourites in the novel. A little background info – Nika has been bitten by a werewolf and was saved by Winter, a vampire of the Validus bloodline who secretly longed to turn her when she was mortal, claiming her as his mate. Now, they’re on the run from the werewolf, Willem, trying to get Nika to safety… and have sneaked into the Validus mansion for a brief pit-stop…
She took his breath away. Her honey blonde hair hung in wet ringlets that stroked her cheeks and caressed her bare shoulders. A black towel hid her soft pale body, a dazzling contrast. His gaze skimmed over her, taking in the shape of her and stopping when he reached her legs. The one she had broken still bore a red mark where the bone was healing. It marred her otherwise perfect skin, a reminder of her ordeal.
Taking the shirt with him, he walked across the room to her. She smiled when he placed the oversized black shirt around her shoulders and covered her. His gaze fell to her throat and he noticed that she had removed her cross. He glanced down to see it in her hand, spinning as it dangled from the chain.
“I’m scared,” she said, her eyes reflecting all that fear, enormous and soulful, tempting him into holding her and whispering sweet words of reassurance.
He smiled, hoping it would be enough to calm her, and drew the shirt closed across her chest. “There is nothing to fear. We shall leave this place soon.”
“And go where?”
Winter wished he knew. The thought of taking her to the compound made a strange uneasiness settle in his chest. He pressed his hand against it and rubbed the spot over his heart, hoping to soothe the dull ache. There had to be a way of discovering where the werewolves hid their bastion.
“We cannot remain here.” He moved back across the room to the bed, sensing her following him, her footsteps almost silent on the extensive black and red Chinese rug that covered most of the floor, leaving only a thin border of dark wooden floorboards around the edges.
“Why not?” she said and sat down on the end of his double bed.
The black towel she wore melted into the black sheets. She removed the shirt from her shoulders and placed it down beside her. When she leaned back, her slender pale hands were a stark contrast to the bedclothes. His gaze traversed the length of her arms, following the line of them up to her shoulders. His stomach turned and growled when his gaze reached the smooth, sublime column of her throat. Her hair had fallen away, revealing the slope of it, covered with dewdrops of moisture that clung in the most enticing way to her skin. An urge to chase them with his tongue filled him, commanding him to go to her and slowly lick her throat until he had caught every drop. It led onto a desire to lean into her then, to ease his teeth into her neck and draw on her warm blood, to take her completely and in ways that he had only seen in fantasies of her.
“Why can’t we stay here?”
He stared at her, shocked out of his thoughts by hearing her say such a thing and seeing a desire to stay in his room in her eyes. It was fear talking. Bringing her here had scared her. Now that she was safely here, she didn’t want to leave. She feared someone catching her. It was a foolish way to feel. She was safer back out there in the woods. Safer from his family and from him.
Here in his room, he couldn’t help but feel safe, and it was leading to thoughts he shouldn’t be entertaining. There was no future for them. The Law Keepers were inescapable. The quicker he resigned himself to the fact that soon they would part ways and would never see each other again, the better. He couldn’t do this to her. He couldn’t do this to himself.
Grabbing the trousers that he had laid out on the bed, he tossed them at her. She frowned when they landed across her lap.
“Get dressed.” He paced around the bed to the two tall windows on the other side of the room.
The open curtains revealed the cloudy world outside. In the distance, he could see the glow of the village where it continued to burn. He drew the curtain slightly, not wanting Nika to see it and become upset again. It had been hard enough to see her so upset at the village with her father. It had been almost impossible to resist her request to turn the old man and save his life. He laughed internally at himself. Save his life? Instinct had told him that her father had been welcoming death in that moment. Turning him would have condemned him to live on, facing an eternity of regret. That wasn’t the life to give to someone, no matter how sweet and desperate the one requesting it was.
He glanced at Nika to see her carefully pulling on the trousers and slipping the cross into her pocket and then looked back out the window again to give her some privacy. The snowy grounds of the mansion stretched far in front of him. Footprints criss-crossed the open ground, always two sets side by side. The only ones that weren’t regular and following the boundary of the grounds were his. They cut across the other sets at an angle. He should have considered what an obvious mark he would leave. In a family bound by rules, and who prided themselves on regularity and loyalty, his footsteps across the snow would look highly suspicious. If luck were with him, any Watchman who saw them would merely think one of the younger vampires had caused them, excited at the prospect of hunting and eager to reach the woods.
“I’m tired,” Nika whispered on a sigh and he looked at her.
She buttoned the black shirt over her chest and stared down at the rug. He could sense the fatigue she spoke of, a tiredness that ebbed and flowed across the room from her, reminding him that he had snatched little sleep the day before and that her body was still healing. They would need to find her food and perhaps somewhere they could rest, but right now she could have neither. They had to leave. It wasn’t safe here.
He walked across the room and took hold of her arm. Her attempt to resist him by leaning backwards failed, as though she was strong enough to fight him, and he pulled her onto her feet. There was a definite pout about her expression.
“There is no time for rest,” he said and undid her belt. He could feel her eyes boring into his face and her heartbeat accelerated. The warm subtle scent of arousal clouded the air around him. He quirked an eyebrow at her reaction to his touch and steeled himself. No matter how much she wanted it, he couldn’t change his mind and surrender to her. He slid the dagger onto the belt and pushed it back through the loops before fastening it again. He wouldn’t give in. “We must leave now.”
Nika’s heartbeat slowed when he walked away. Silence filled the room and then he sensed an abrupt change in her emotions. A strange sense of intent replaced the fear and desire. Curiosity? It was impossible for him to pinpoint exact emotions when they were subtle ones like jealousy, curiosity and confusion. The ones that provoked a strong reaction like arousal, anger, happiness, were easiest to discern from her scent, her blood and her body.
“Where are we going?”
Winter felt her step up close behind her and sensed her intent to touch his back. He turned to face her and took a step backwards, out of her reach. Her gaze lingered on his waist, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. The knives had caught her attention.
“You’re dressed for war and you won’t tell me where we’re going. Why should I leave here?”
“Because it is not safe. Your fear is making you believe it is when in reality we are in the lion’s den. We must leave. I do not know where we shall go, but everything will be fine.”
Her expression softened, green eyes lighting up. His senses spoke of happiness and calm. Was it because he had told her that everything would be fine? He didn’t know if it would be, but it had felt like the right thing to say. He could protect her from any who came after her, within limits. He could not fight his kin. He could not fight his lord. If either of those came after him, they were doomed. He would have to give Nika up to them.
“Why are you doing this?”
Those sparkling green eyes met his and he stared into them, searching for the courage to voice the words that he wanted to say.
Closing his eyes so he didn’t have to see her reaction and torture himself with what might have been, he lowered his head and whispered, “You were not the only one who looked each time you passed by.”
He didn’t wait for her to speak. Turning on his heel, he went to the door and unlocked it. He took down a cloak from the hooks on the wall near the door and handed it to Nika when she came to stand beside him. It was freezing out and they had little time to find shelter before dawn. They needed to leave the mansion though. As much as his instinct was telling him to remain here for the day and his body ached for sleep in a comfortable bed, he couldn’t risk it. When the dawn came, the other commanders would return to their rooms and would smell Nika.
“Speak not a word, understand?” Winter said and she nodded.
A sweep with his senses revealed they were still alone on this floor. He opened the door, waited for Nika to pass through and then stepped out into the hall. Closing the door, he checked his surroundings again. Nothing. Nika made a small squeaking noise when he grabbed her around the waist and ran down the hall with her slung over his shoulder. He moved her into his arms when they reached the stairwell and she wrapped her legs around his waist, her arms looping around his neck. Emotions and sense warred in his head. His body ached to feel hers pressing into it, enjoyed the way her soft body felt against his side. Her breasts were touching his chest, only his armour stopping him from feeling them. His sense said to move her to his back again where he couldn’t feel her, but he couldn’t risk her cutting herself on the knives he carried. He had no choice but to hold her this way. If she cut herself, every Validus in the mansion would smell her within seconds.
Reaching the servants’ floor, he turned right down a dark corridor and headed for the stables. Voices echoed down the hall ahead of him and he ducked into a room, holding Nika close. He quietly closed the door and listened. Footsteps were heading towards them. Slipping into his vampire guise, he assessed the pitch-black room. It was storage. They were unlikely to come in here.
Nika’s breath against his face was warm and sweet. Her hands trembled against his neck and her heartbeat spoke of fear again. He cursed himself and held her closer, one hand against her backside while the other pressed into her upper back. Her eyes were wide and searching the darkness. How much could she see? Her vision was better than a human’s, but without changing into her wolf guise, she wouldn’t be able to see in the way he could.
The people passed and he tracked them with his senses, waiting until they were a good distance away before leaving the safety of the room. He ran along the corridor, Nika clinging to him, and skidded to a halt the moment his feet hit the icy dirt of the stable courtyard. It pained him to be here. He’d had several horses in his lifetime, but none like Midnight.
Nika moved against him, bringing him out of his thoughts. They needed a fast horse. One leaving the grounds would be less conspicuous than two.
Winter carried Nika into the main stable block and set her down on the hay-strewn floor between the two rows of stalls. A quick glance at her revealed that she was calm. He set about finding them a horse. His senses locked on Nika as he gathered a saddle and bridle. She remained close to him, her blood speaking of fear. Strange how she had felt so safe in his room. Strange how he had felt so safe. As though a room could protect them. It would keep them safe from the werewolves, but not from his family.
Nika tensed.
Winter turned on a pinhead to face the person standing a few metres behind her and then instantly moved to defend her from the shadowy figure standing in the entrance to the stable block. His arm came out to block the man’s path to her. She moved behind him.
“Ah, the woodman’s daughter,” a familiar warm deep voice echoed around the room.
Winter tensed too. He caught Nika’s arm where she stood behind him and guided her closer. The man moved closer too. Winter stood firm. Nika clung to his arm, trembling. Or was that him?
He stared into Hyperion’s eyes as his lord came to stand not two metres from him.
“You have grown into your beauty,” Hyperion said to Nika, eyes flashing hungrily as he smiled.
Winter growled and Hyperion turned a frown on him briefly before looking back at Nika.
“I have not seen you since you were small and promised to the wolves.”
Another growl escaped Winter’s lips and he stepped forwards, intent on protecting Nika, even if it was from his lord. Everything he had thought before disappeared when faced with this threat to Nika. He would protect her from his family. He wouldn’t surrender her to his lord. He wouldn’t surrender her to anyone.
“And what do you do in the stables, Winter?” Hyperion turned to him, purple eyes searching his, handsome face marred by darkness. His lord wasn’t amused.
“I came for a horse, nothing more, my lord.” Winter bowed his head and closed his eyes, hoping that if he acted as expected, his lord’s patience and understanding would return. In a fight, Winter didn’t stand a chance against Hyperion. Hyperion was three times his age and ten times stronger.
“A horse, the woodman’s daughter and the scent of old blood,” Hyperion said. Winter stiffened. He had made Nika clean herself and change, but had forgotten that her blood stained his gloves and clothes. “A blind man could see that something is happening here, Winter. Explain yourself. You already have a horse to call your own, but you are stealing another?”
The lack of anger in those words surprised Winter and he found the courage to look up into his lord’s eyes. They held no anger either. His lord was no fool. He would know that Nika was a werewolf now, but he hadn’t mentioned it. Why? It was too much to hope that Hyperion was going to let them go. No matter what indiscretions his past held, Hyperion didn’t tolerate his Watchmen breaking the law. At least, that was what he said. He had never needed to prove himself before now.
“My horse is dead,” Winter said and braved a step towards Hyperion. Nika remained close behind him, fiercely gripping his arm and peering around it. At least she had sense enough to know that Hyperion was a threat to her. “The werewolves attacked in Validus territory. Nika is not safe.”
“I am sorry, Winter. I know how you favoured the steed… but I cannot possibly let you leave here with this girl. Willem will destroy her family.”
Nika stepped out from behind him, her hand on the dagger at her waist. She glared at Hyperion. Perhaps she didn’t have sense after all.
“Willem. The beast that bit me and murdered my entire village?” Her words held an edge as sharp as the blade grasped in her hand.
“I thought there was an air of wet dog about the stables.” Hyperion smiled at her and then turned it on Winter. His look became thoughtful. “Should we send her to the compound?”
Winter pushed Nika back behind him and growled, his claws extending.
“You should know that you are breaking the law.” Hyperion’s eyes darkened and Winter sensed his anger rising.
He was a fool to anger his lord, but he couldn’t let them take Nika to the compound. She wasn’t strong enough. It would be the end of her.
“I know as well as you do. My lord is no stranger to the laws.” Winter took hold of Nika’s arm again and gripped it tightly, silently commanding her to remain behind him this time.
Pain surfaced in Hyperion’s eyes brief seconds before he lowered his gaze to the floor of the stables. He frowned and whispered, “Sakura.”
Winter hated himself for mentioning something that hurt his lord. He had done it on instinct, an immediate reaction to the thought that he was breaking the law. If he was, then he was following his lord’s well-trodden path.
“Take Demeter,” Hyperion said and Winter’s eyes shot wide.
“But my lord, Demeter is your horse.”
“She is, and there is no faster horse to be had in these stables. Return her to me. I have business to attend to, but I expect you back before the eastern party arrives.” Hyperion turned away and walked to the stable entrance. He paused, the strange half-light of the approaching dawn shadowing his features and adding to the solemn look in his eyes. “It is too late to travel this morning. Rest here the day. I will order this area out of bounds. Tomorrow night, leave as the sun sets and take your little wolf girl to the last stronghold of her kin, on the borders of St. Petersburg, north of the city.”
With that, he was gone.
Winter stared at the empty doorway, his claws easing away and his body relaxing inch by inch.
“Your lord?” Nika whispered, still clinging to his arm.
“Yes,” Winter said, staring after Hyperion.
Light began to chase away the darkness. With a sigh, Winter guided Nika into the empty stall beside Demeter’s. He waited for Nika to settle down on the straw and then stared at the large black mare. His lord was lending him his own horse to assist his escape from the mansion and speed him on his way to the bastion of Nika’s kin. It was more than he had expected, far more. It had shown Hyperion’s faith in him more clearly than the day he’d had the title of commander bestowed on him. His lord believed in him, trusted him, and liked him enough to cover for him even when he was breaking the law. Winter smiled and settled down in the opposite corner to Nika, closest to Demeter’s stall. The night faded and sleep beckoned him.
Nika moved across the stall and curled up close to him, her cloak covering her. He glanced at her neck.
“Your necklace is gone,” he murmured and she touched her throat.
“I thought perhaps you found it offensive.” She lowered her hand to her trouser pocket. “I still have it. It doesn’t seem to bother me so I thought I’d keep it. My parents gave it to me when I was a child. Come to think of it, it was after the wolves had attacked. Maybe my father and mother had wanted to protect me from them.”
“Perhaps,” Winter said and stifled a yawn. He was glad that she had found something to restore her love for her father. What he had done was unforgivable but he had paid the price for it and Winter was sure that he had suffered all these years knowing what he had done for the sake of the village. Maybe the dreams of a better life he had woven for Nika had been more than that. Maybe they had been her father’s hope shining through, his wish that she would escape the wolves and be free to live that dream.
Closing his eyes, Winter released his breath and let sleep come to claim him. A smile still touched his lips.
Hyperion had given him a reason to return, a purpose and a direction. Without him asking, his lord had given him everything that he needed. Now he knew where to take Nika.
Now he could help her.
Now he felt he could return once this was all over.
With his lord’s consent, he wasn’t breaking any law by taking Nika to her kin.
Now he just had to resist breaking the law that forbade a relationship between species.
Nika moved against him and wrapped her arms around one of his. The warmth of her and the smell of her blood were alluring, intoxicating. He breathed deep, taking the scent down into his lungs and holding it there. His fangs itched for her blood.
It was becoming harder with each passing second.

Payne was on fire, burning for her, desperate to taste her again. He kissed her inner left thigh, teasing her down from her climax. Her pleasure rocked him still, mingling with his own, drugging him and making it hard to control his incubus nature. He pressed his teeth to her soft flesh, feeling it quivering and her pulse beating hard against his lips, trying to rouse his more dominant vampire nature in order to suppress his other side. His fangs didn’t lengthen but his incubus instincts did recede a fraction. It was always hard to suppress his incubus urges with his vampire desires even at the easiest times, like when he was at Vampirerotique and the shows were taking place. Now, it was verging on impossible. His incubus hungers pushed him to keep going, to lick and tease her to a second orgasm so he could feel that intense rush of pleasure flow through him. It forced his vampire side to recede.
He knew that he needed to embrace the incubus part of himself, just as Elissa had said, but he was afraid of what might happen if he did.
She was so tempting. Her taste, her scent, her sweet arousal and the way she had moaned when he licked her, all of it pushed him to do as she was commanding and feed on her sexual energy.
Sexual energy that he had awoken in her.
A blind man could see that she was new to all of this. That was the only reason he was letting her do this with him. If he had discovered that she had done this with other men, he would have pictured her with them each time she touched him and would have lost control, and it wouldn’t have been his incubus side in command.
His vampire nature said to possess her and claim her, to make her belong to him.
Submitting to her like this was a way of achieving that. He had spoken the truth to her when he had detailed what he wanted to do to her, but it wasn’t his incubus side that wanted it. It was the vampire in him that wanted to spoil her to all others and make her need him as she had never needed another.
Elissa tugged on the rope and Payne obediently stood, his legs aching as his muscles stretched. He loved the way her cheeks flushed and desire heated her eyes whenever he followed a command without a moment’s pause. It pleased her. She enjoyed controlling him.
He couldn’t deny that he enjoyed it too.
Or that he was waiting for her to take things to the next level.
She looked so damn hot in that outfit, even more so now that she had ditched her knickers. He wanted to take hold of her, force her to bend over and sink his cock into her hot sheath. He wanted to seize control.
It was hard to deny that urge.
Elissa turned her back on him and he groaned under his breath, his gaze raking over every sensual inch of her, following her sexy curves to her bare bottom. She yanked on the rope around his neck and Payne moved, drifting along behind her, staring at her bottom and imagining being inside her, thrusting into her just as he had threatened.
She led him to the bedroom and he raised his eyebrows, intrigued as to what she had planned now. He could hear her nerves in the frantic beat of her heart but he could sense her pleasure too. She was enjoying this, and he was too, but only because she hadn’t done anything to push him too far yet. He hoped that it continued that way.
Elissa turned and rounded him, forcing him to turn with her. She pressed her hot palms against his chest and shoved. He fell onto the bed.
“Up,” she said and jerked her chin.
Payne obeyed, shuffling further onto the bed, his heart picking up pace now. He wanted to know what came next. His cock slapped his stomach, eagerly putting in its opinion. Hell, he wanted her on him too. His balls ached, tight with the need to find release, and he wasn’t sure how much more he could take.
It was uncomfortable with his arms bound behind him. The rope bit into his wrists. The pain only added to his pleasure.
Elissa mounted the bed and straddled his legs. She crawled up the length of him, giving him a breathtaking view of her cleavage. He ground his teeth when she licked up the length of his cock, briefly teasing the crown with her tongue.
“Don’t move.”
Payne tried hard to obey that order, even when every instinct screamed at him to thrust. She licked him again and fondled his balls, and he couldn’t stop himself when she gave them a brief, hard squeeze.
He moved.
Elissa clucked her tongue. “I’ll have to punish you for that.”
He loved the way she blushed when she said that. It spoiled the dominant effect somewhat but he liked to see her innocence shining through. It only made what she was doing more erotic.
She gently slapped the end of the rope across his chest.
Payne groaned and she frowned. Shocked by the fact that it had thrilled him?
He wasn’t. Over the centuries, he had developed a tendency to give himself over to pain and liked to use it to get off. It was safer than allowing himself to feel a softer version of pleasure. He had closed himself off to good feelings and focused on the dark. He could see just how far he had gone now though and it unsettled him, but he couldn’t change who he had become.
He wanted to feel her whipping him. He needed the pain.
He moved again. A flicker of something like horror lit her eyes but quickly faded, her expression softening. She pulled the rope out from beneath him and waved a finger at it. It broke in two, leaving him with his wrists bound beneath him and her with a length of silver rope in her hands. She waved her hand again and it broke into two equal lengths.
Elissa folded the two strands in the middle and held that part in her hand, leaving four lengths dangling free. She stared at him, an edge of uncertainty in her eyes, but bravery too, and a touch of passion and arousal.
She brought the four strands of rope down, gently whipping his chest.
It was wrong of him but he ached for more. He wanted her to strike him harder. He moved again, trying to taunt her into it. She had sworn to punish him if he moved. Her eyes narrowed and she struck him again, harder this time. The whip slashed across his chest and then his stomach, reddening his skin. Payne needed more.
She struck again and the makeshift whip caught his cock.
Payne grunted and arched upwards, hissing from how good it had felt.
Elissa’s eyes were wide when he opened his.
Shocked.
She would end this game of hers now. He could see it. She would end it now that he was desperate for it to continue.
Her expression lost its stunned edge and she rallied, striking his stomach again, even harder now. He swallowed and moaned, tried to hold them back so she didn’t stop. The whip slashed him again, one of the ropes catching the sensitive crown of his erection. He clamped his teeth together and the groan still slipped out, drenched in desire, thick with hunger and pleasure. It was loud and sounded obscene to him.
Elissa blushed.
“Are you bad?”
He nodded. Very. She didn’t know how bad.

Snippet Saturday – Author’s Choice – Excerpt from Masquerade (Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 10)
It’s time for Snippet Saturday! Each week has a theme or is author’s choice. This week the theme is Author’s Choice.
This week my snippet comes from my vampire romance novel, Masquerade, which is book 10 in the Vampires Realm romance series. It’s finally a shorter excerpt this week, but it’s still quite long… I love the UST between Vivek and Sophis in this book, the product of misunderstandings and mistakes, and barely leashed desire that runs as an undercurrent through them both and both of them deny its existence… ah, their love is undeniable though.
The fight in the park with the hunter tonight came flooding back and the moment demanding the most airtime in her thoughts reared up again. She couldn’t shake the startling way she had felt as the haze from feeding had lifted and she had found herself face-to-face with Vivek. His desire had been unmistakable.
As had hers.
At first, she had tried to put it down to the effects of feeding but that excuse had died a little more with each silent moment that had passed between them. The longer he had looked at her with eyes full of fire, the harsh rise and fall of his chest emphasising the breadth of his powerful muscular body, the more intense her awareness of him had become. The scent of their desire mingling and filling her senses had urged her to go to him and satisfy the dark craving to finish what they had started earlier this evening.
Not the fight.
Where the fight had been going.
On some instinctive and feminine level inside her, she had been aware that things had changed during the flow of their battle and that they remained changed now. Vivek had started responding differently to her and, in turn, she had reacted differently to him.
Hideously differently.
It had felt too good when he had pinned her to the floor, his body against hers, sending heat chasing through every inch of her and igniting a lust not for violence or blood, but for him.
Every touch of his body against hers since then had sent sparks skittering over her skin and rekindled the embers of her passion.
Definitely disturbing.
She hated Vivek. He hated her. He had made that evident over the past decade or so, destroying their friendship in the process. What everyone said about them might have been possible once but it was impossible now.
Vivek muttered something, slowed, and came around the other side of her. She silently cursed him for it when he looked at her out of the corner of his eye. The streetlights washed over his face, softening the harsh line of his jaw and the straight angle of his nose, and turning his hazel eyes as black as midnight. Golden highlights threaded through his hair, weaving over the tangled dark waves. Sophis cursed him again and swore he was the only man in the world who could look even more handsome than usual under sickly sodium lights.
“When we get back to the mansion we need to go straight to Commander Tynan and file our report,” he said, casual and disinterested, as though commenting on the weather rather than the fact they had uncovered a dangerous level of hunters grouping together.
She frowned at him and he glanced at her again, his eyes briefly touching hers before he faced forwards and jostled the hunter on his shoulder. The calm and detached air he affected didn’t fool her. She could feel his senses locked on her. Monitoring her for what?
She hoped to the Devil it wasn’t for a sign of arousal.
That had been a temporary glitch. Nothing more. The man was a misogynistic cruel bastard.
Her heart said that he hadn’t been once. They had been friends. He had taught her how to defend herself and how to dispatch hunters quickly, and trained her in tracking and almost every other valuable skill that she knew. He had spent hours with her in the training room when he should have been teaching others, favouring her over them.
What had changed him?
Aleksis Romanov loomed up in her mind and her steps faltered, her hands shaking at the memory that assaulted her and her side burning so fiercely that she swore if she touched it her fingers would come away bloodied.
“Are you alright?” Vivek’s tone was low and cautious, his English accented with a Russian edge that teased her ears and gave her comfort that she couldn’t help but accept. Her senses locked on him before she could stop herself and the comfort just his voice had given her paled in comparison to that which flooded her when she felt his senses focus on her in return.
I will not let him near you.
Those words echoed in her head, husked close to her ear, whispered with so much feeling that she believed in their promise to keep her safe from the beast that was Aleksis Romanov.
Had Vivek meant them or had he only said what had been necessary to make her continue with their mission?
Sophis looked up into his eyes, afraid of seeing the answer in them. There was no edge of softness and concern in them now, not as there had been during that moment behind the white van when fear had gripped her and she had turned to Vivek for reassurance and strength.
She cursed her own weakness this time, nodded and kept walking. She didn’t need his strength or his reassurance. She was strong enough to fight her own battles, even against a foe as deadly as Aleksis. Her swift steps carried her a few feet ahead of Vivek and she was thankful when he didn’t catch up with her and brought up the rear instead.
What was getting into her?
Seeing Aleksis and Izabella again had rattled her. Now that she knew they were in the city and had seen them once, she would be prepared when she faced them again. She would kill Aleksis.
And Izabella?
Sophis’s senses switched back to Vivek. His fear had been palpable when he had spotted Izabella at the hunters’ base tonight.
When Sophis had been recovering from the dagger wound in the infirmary a decade ago, Seth had come to her, saying that Vivek had sent him to check on her. She had asked him why Vivek hadn’t come himself. He had hesitated and made excuses, but eventually he had confessed that Izabella Romanov had staked Vivek in the back whilst he had been holding Sophis to comfort her. Sophis still felt sick to her stomach whenever she thought about that, or whenever she happened to catch sight of the scar on Vivek’s back. He had come close to death because of her.
Things had degenerated so quickly between them after that night that she had never had a chance to apologise, or even thank him for remaining with her.
Or ask him why he had been so focused on her and not his surroundings.
Her memory of the night was patchy, but sometimes she relived it in her nightmares, and each time Vivek held her close and told her to hold on.
Told her not to leave him.
A shiver raced down her spine and arms, spreading heat through her body, and she turned her head to one side. Not enough that she could see Vivek walking behind her, but enough that her awareness of him increased.
Was that moment just part of her fevered imagination during her nightmares or was it something that had actually happened?
She couldn’t ask him. If she did, he would brush it off, would laugh at her and tease her about it. It had plagued her for over ten years and now she wondered if she would ever find the courage to talk to him about what had happened that night.
He had been surprised when she had touched his back earlier tonight, resting her hand over the spot where the scar was, and she hadn’t wanted to stop herself from silently asking him whether he was all right. He had needed to know that she was there with him and that nothing would happen. Just as he had promised to keep her safe from Aleksis, she had promised without words that she would protect him from Izabella.
They would both have their vengeance one day.

Excerpt
Dream threads wrapped around Daria, tugging her away from Seagem to an unfamiliar place.
She stood on a hilly desert, gritty beige sand under her bare feet. Overhead, a yellow sun blazed in an arching azure sky.
The starkness of the color dried the air from her lungs, making her lightheaded.
Daria fought the dizziness. Where is this place? What am I doing here?
She’d curbed herself of dream walking without the presence of Yadarius, ever since Indaran’s death. Somehow, her blocks must have slipped.
Trepidation, like cold fingers, clutched her stomach, chilling her in spite of the blistering heat.
She shaded her eyes with one hand, staring at the vast blueness. She wasn’t in Seagem anymore; she doubted a sky of such a hue existed anywhere on her world. Was this Yadarius’ doing? Had He sent her somewhere? For what purpose?
Turning in a small circle, she scanned her surroundings, searching for signs of the SeaGod’s presence.
Nothing. Not even a hint of brine in the parched air.
She took deep breaths, striving for calm. To break her paralysis, she forced herself to take a step. The hot sand slithered under her feet. At least being in a dream protected the soles of her feet from burning.
The act of moving freed her from the bonds of her childhood fears. I’m a woman grown. A warrior. This is an entirely different dream walk than my last meeting with Indaran. She tried to believe her words.
Trudging to the top of the hill, Daria looked around. Sand dunes ringed this barren, rocky outcropping, scarce of vegetation. A sense of purpose unfurled tendrils of knowingness. There must be a reason for her being here, and she needed to find out what.
Her ears caught a rhythmic sound, and then the scrape of a shod hoof on a stone.
More curious than apprehensive, she waited.
A rider on an ebony stallion, leading a pack mare, appeared between two ridges, The man wore a loose, light-colored garment over trews, and a head-covering that looked like a cap with a long cloth shielding the back of his neck. She noted the bow hooked close to his hand on the saddle and the fletches of what must be a quiver of arrows on his back. No sword, though.
He turned his head. A strong face, unlike any she’d ever seen. Hawk-like features. Dark skin. Penetrating brown eyes.
His gaze shot to hers, like an arrow through her heart.
Daria felt the impact and stumbled back, her hand flying to cover her chest. Beneath her palm, her heartbeat stuttered, then quickened, like a horse kicked into a canter. Warmth spread under her fingers, racing throughout her body. Her knees weakened.
The man reined in his stallion, watching her, his eyes narrowed. Slowly, he extended his hand to her, palm up, a clear invitation to come to him.
She reached out her hand.
A chain of connection forged across the distance between them.
Then she saw darkness stain the horizon behind him. A clear warning of danger swept through her othersense. She lowered her hand and backed away.
Then the dream threads unraveled. Daria slept on, dreamless.

Teaseday – Prophecy: Dark Moon Rising (Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 3) Plus FREE EBOOK
Today’s tease comes from the book Prophecy: Dark Moon Rising, which is the third book in my popular Vampires Realm romance series.
Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…
Prophecy looked up and frowned at the mansion in front of her. It wasn’t hers. Her eyes dropped to her hand and she saw the red magic lazily encircling her fingers. They moved to her chest and she touched the faintly glowing star there.
Had her heart brought her here?
Deep inside, she was scared. Her heart feared and the magic had responded to it by bringing her here to Valentine.
Walking along the perimeter wall, she eventually came to the gatehouse. She remembered the last time she’d been here and wondered if the guards would remember her.
They blocked her path as she approached and when their eyes filled with fear, she took it as a yes.
They remembered her. Seeing your friends killed was probably a hard thing to forget.
“I’ve come to see your lord,” she said in her most confident tone.
They didn’t budge at first; they just stared at her with hard, cold eyes. When she tensed her jaw and narrowed her eyes, they stepped to one side. She didn’t bother thanking them.
Entering the house, she ignored the looks she got from all the people who had stopped to stare and searched for Cornelius. If anyone knew where Valentine was, it would be him. There was a jostling amongst the people and then Cornelius appeared. He hurried forwards, the quick motion causing his blond hair to fall down over his eyes. She suppressed the smile that wanted to spring onto her lips when he continually pushed it out of his face, only for it to fall back again.
“Lady Prophecy,” he greeted her in an out of breath voice.
“Is Valentine home?” She kept her voice steady and smiled gracefully when Cornelius nodded and held his arm out to one side.
She followed him through the house, her eyes constantly scanning the faces of the people she passed. They all seemed unnerved to see her and she wondered if Valentine had told them about the ball yet. She wondered something else too.
“Um, Cornelius?” she said.
He stopped and turned to face her, his brows raised into an expectant look.
“When Valentine came back last night…” She tried to think of the best way to broach the subject. “Did he mention the ball?”
“Yes.”
“Did anything happen?”
Cornelius started walking again and she fell into line beside him.
“He killed an elder who spoke out against your family.”
“Oh,” she said and struggled to keep up with him. He seemed in an awful hurry. “Is that why they’re all scared of me?”
“They think you’ve come to finish the job, but they should really be worried that Valentine will.”
“Why?” She stopped when he did and looked at the door they were next to.
“He’s in a terrible mood. Excuse me…I’ve…I’ve…got matters to attend to.” With that, he was scurrying off down the hall as fast as his legs would carry him.
She stared at the door and considered leaving, but then she remembered what Venturi had said.
When this war started there wouldn’t be time for anything.
She knocked on the door and then turned the handle, not waiting for an answer. Walking into the room, she closed the door behind her and flicked the lock. There were no lights on in the room, but the pale silvery light of the moon made up for that as it streamed in through the window. Valentine was standing on a small balcony outside. Both of the glass doors to it were open. His shadow stretched long across the floor to where she stood.
She watched him for a moment, studying the sweeping curve of his bare back while he stared at the world outside. His head was tilted slightly upwards. Was he staring at the moon and the stars? Her eyes followed the strong line of his arm to his hand as he raised it. He gripped something in it. It glinted in the light.
A bottle?
He swigged the contents and when he lowered it again, she could see that it was half full with a clear liquid. She frowned, struggling to make out what the label said where it was partly obscured by his hand.
Did he even know she was there?
“What are you thinking?” she said quietly, breaking the silence.
His back tensed. He brought the bottle up again and drank more of the liquid.
“You,” he said in a low voice full of so many different emotions that she didn’t know what to make of it. There was anger in there, but affection and hurt too. His fingers tensed around the neck of the bottle and she flinched, waiting for the glass to give way under the pressure. It didn’t. He lessened his grip and his shoulders sagged. “That devil of a Tenebrae.”
She wondered if he could see everything without having to be there. Walking towards him, she stopped as she reached him and ran her hand up his back. Her eyes traced his profile while he drank again. She caught a glimpse of the bottle’s label. Vodka.
“Does that even help?” she said. “It takes a lot to get drunk.”
“I do not wish to get drunk. I just want the pain to lessen.”
Guilt settled in her stomach and she fought hard to remind herself that she’d done nothing wrong. It was all Venturi’s fault, not hers. Although she had affections for Venturi, she would never act on them. She loved Valentine too much to hurt him.
Taking the bottle from him, she swigged it and then placed it down on the desk beside her. She turned him to face her. He looked beautiful bathed in soft moonlight. It played on his bare chest and shoulders, highlighting his defined muscles with glowing silver lines.
She smiled. “I can ease the pain.”
His eyes dropped to her body and there was a flicker of hunger in them. Heat settled in her stomach when he placed his hands against her hips and shifted them upwards, pushing the bottom of her camisole up so his fingers were brushing against her bare sides.
“What did you have in mind?” he whispered in a husky voice that had no trace of anger or hurt left in it.
Her smile turned coy. “Seducing you.”

Her Wicked Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 6)
Felicity Heaton
The King of Demons and the Devil’s right hand man, Asmodeus is a dark angel born of evil and created for destruction. When his master orders him to venture into the mortal world and retrieve a female for him, he seizes the chance to leave Hell for the first time, uncaring of what the Devil has planned for her… until he sets eyes on the most beautiful woman he has ever seen—a female who awakens new feelings within his black heart, unleashing passion so intense that it controls him and desire he cannot resist.
He will not let his wretched master have her. She will belong to him.
Liora is a witch with a bad reputation and an obsession with fighting demons. A mission gone wrong sees her sent to Paris to cool off, but when a dark and deadly warrior with a gaze of golden fire lands in her life, she ends up burning hotter than Hell for the wicked angel. Nothing will stand between her and the immense, forbidding male. Not her cousin. Not Asmodeus’s sworn enemy and twin, Apollyon. And certainly not the Devil.
Caught up in a tempest of danger and soul-searing passion, can they survive against the odds and seize their forever after?
Her Wicked Angel is due for release on September 21st 2013
