Rob Having a Geektastic Time at SDCC – And You?

2010 SDCC Logo Rob Having a Geektastic Time at SDCC And You?Hey Everyone!

Rob checked in with me from San Diego and it sounds like she's already having a great time at the con!

Are any of you meeting her there, or have you already met her at her book signing?

Comment here or on Rob's Facebook fan page about how your time at SDCC is going/went, and let us know if you were able to meet Rob. Also, if you'd like to submit any photos of yourselves with Rob at the con, send them to reavers@robthurman.net and we'll put them up in a gallery here and in a new Facebook fan gallery – you can help us break it in.

And for the record: this web geektress is soooooo jealous of all you SDCC attendees.

New Rob Thurman Facebook Fan Page

Psssst… hello, everyone!

I'm Jayda, Rob's new web-geek. Yes, I'm up in the wee hours of the morning, working behind-the-scenes [like a little elf or fae or brownie or demon] to do whatever I can to help BASILISK take over the world on August 2nd. Although… it kinda looks like Cal beat me to it! I'm trying to one-up him, I guess. *mischievous glances*

Anyway, I finally got an actual fan page up for Rob on Facebook so that she can get all the "Likes" her work deserves. In all honesty, I kinda did it for myself… I get really annoyed when I want to "Like" my favorite author and realize she doesn't have a fan page – no pretty thumbnail for my "favorites" sections? Whaaa? I don't frakking think so. icon wink New Rob Thurman Facebook Fan Page

Rob's been so busy writing her next masterpiece, gearing up for San Diego Comic-Con AND getting ready for a new release – how does she DO it all AND find time to connect with everyone? The woman never ceases to amaze me. So that's why I'm sneaking in here while she's asleep to let you all know her facebook page is UP. I think it'll really make her happy to see a bunch of people already giving her some love when she logs on tomorrow… er… today.

So if you don't mind indulging me, go on over there, be the awesome Reavers that you are and hit the "like" button for Rob. Share it with your friends, too – let's get a great big Rob Thurman Dog Pile of Like-y Goodness going over there! [Dog-pile like football players all piling up on each other - not "pile" as in poo]. icon biggrin New Rob Thurman Facebook Fan Page

You may see posts from me here and over there every so often, so… just wanted to introduce myself and give Rob a little wee-hours-of-the-morning surprise.

XOXO to My Fellow Reavers!

-Jay

Future Variations on Steampunk

It's been said many times that Steampunk is what happened when Goths discovered the color brown. What will be the next in the progression?

Steamdunk: Goths discover swimming…and that chlorine turns the black dye in their hair pink/purple.

Steamfunk: Goths discover George Clinton and the Funkadelics and give up 'I wanna die with razor blades in my eyes' music.

Steamgunk: Goths discover there is an over-the-counter medication for the cheese between their toes (combat boots are sweaty.)

Steamhunk: Female Goths discover some men do have chests that aren't concave.

Steamjunk: Goths simultaneously discover socks in your pants give you junk, all women look good with junk in their trunk, and Sandford and Son.

Steamsunk: Pre-Goths discover that Titanic cruisers thought they were all widows and widowers, but the end of the trip was full of death and despair. Pre-goth win-win.

Steamxunk: Goths discover they have mutant powers and could save the world! But….eh, who cares? And instead go get another tattoo and skull earring.

Steamzunk: Future Goths go see Avatar 15 in hopes those damn blue naked Smurfs finally die horribly and additionally discover what the hell unobtainium is.  Wouldn't semi-obtanium be more appropriate?

kayshascolorcal2 262x300 New Cal: Exclusive DOUBLETAKE Sneak Previews!

Remember how I told you about Chris McGrath's best. Cal. Cover. Ever?

Well… I will be revealing that cover and new Cal Leandros DOUBLETAKE excerpts to a chosen few the second week in August.

But to become one of Cal's Chosen Few, you will need to… interact with BASILISK during the week of 8/2 – 8/6… quite possibly in ways that would make Cal Leandros himself grin with evil pride.

So save the date: You and BASILISK from 8/2 – 8/6 = Special Access to DOUBLETAKE!

And yes, I'm being annoyingly mysterious on purpose.

More details on this event and how to get that special VIP access to DOUBLETAKE coming soon.

Calling All Geek God and Goddess Worshippers…

Binwalla Logo 300x121 Calling All Geek God and Goddess Worshippers...Epic Geeks – Epic Radio. Sound like your kind of thing? Yeah, me too.

For those of you who are wondering what the hell a "Binwalla Radio Show" is, the answer lies right here on my new Radio Show page under the Multi-Media header up there ^ on my main website menu. See how this all began and listen to all the episodes that have aired to date right there in one place – like your own, virtual Binwalla Map. My new, epic web-geek will keep that page updated as new episodes air, so if you ever miss a show, just come back to that page, and catch right back up.

My "dirty job" on the show is to pick out a Geek God of the Week. My candidates chosen so far have been Michael Fassbender [of Hex, 300 and X-Men] and Seth Green [I really hope I don't have to tell you who he is]!

Now… since this is such a tough, tough, job *sniff*, I thought perhaps I could open up a blog entry for you all to submit YOUR choices of Geek Gods… and… I don't want this to be one-sided, so guys, if you've got a Geek Goddess you'd like to submit, do it right here. If I pick your choice for the show, I just may announce your name on the show too – to thank you for helping me handle such a strenuous task.

Newest Binwalla show/Seth Green–ass-smacking Geek God Man of Binwalla/

The newest Binwalla show is already up. Seth Green was my Geek God/Man of Binwalla pick. The poll with pictures will be up later today are now up, so go vote for my Oz-Man!

And here is the audio commentary on the hotness of Seth.

First is a short pick of Women of Binwalla, a warning that there is no suicide hotline number scrolling on the bottom of the new Smurf movie trailer (criminal) and then a discussion of Seth Green's geeky hotness from the Rally's days, werewolf Oz, and on to current times (Robot Chicken and Gamer Girl rapping.) Cha-ching might be mentioned in a sexual context.

There is also a picture of Seth smacking his ass in the poll…so, again, go VOTE! He could beat a young, in his prime Han Solo, but the competition is weak on this occasion. Weak! Now go do right by that red-haired sex-machine!
