Ants – A poem by Dr. KP Yohannan
Tens of thousands
like an army they marched
Came from who knows where
going where only they know.
An army of ants
climbing the wall
carrying their rice
and bits of food.
I sat down to watch
hoping to learn what I could.
No confusion
they marched well
to a tune they all knew.
They talked to each other
with a touch of their bodies
giving and receiving news
They seemed to show great love.
One ant fell and hurt himself
A whole group came to carry him
There were many of them
taking care of their...

Seek to Please Jesus and Obey Him
“I have a dream,” proclaimed Martin Luther King, Jr., in his most famous speech as the leader of the civil rights movement.
As a servant of God, I too have a dream! It is to see the Body of Christ changed in such a way that we no longer go to church to be entertained and get what we want. Rather, we go to meet the Living God and understand the purpose He has for our lives and pursue it.
So what is God’s purpose for us? Is it that we pursue great accomplishments, have huge congregations, build...

When Love is Real
Two little pebbles
were cast
into the lake
Two little ripples
were made
in the lake
Those two ripples
became one
in the lake
So is friendship
when love is real.

Same Source
There is no rose
without the thorns.
The life of the rose
and of the thorns
are from the same source.
A bed of roses
has destroyed as many lives
as did thorns
of sorrow and pain.
So a saint prayed long ago:
“Dear God,
Please don’t make me rich
lest I forget you
and don’t make me poor
that I go out and steal.”

Remembering Our Purpose
Can you imagine an airline pilot flying a 747 over the Atlantic Ocean and in the middle of the flight forgetting his destination?
One of the strongest and most successful attacks of the enemy on believers is to cause us to forget our purpose. All of a sudden we find ourselves totally wrapped up in “normal living,” no longer able to answer the questions, “Why are we here? What are we doing?”
What Is My Purpose? The Bible very clearly tells us that we are here not for ourselves but for the caus...

Obedience Is Not Legalism
“You are trying to make us feel guilty,” the woman protested loudly, interrupting the meeting of one of my staff members who was out sharing about those who haven’t heard about Christ and the ministry of the national missionaries.
“No,” he assured her, “that is not my intent at all, but I believe God has put us here for a reason besides living for ourselves.”
In my own travels, I often encounter similar situations. People get upset or defensive because they don’t want to be disturbed in their...

Final Words
So many came
to say their last good-byes
for he had friends
from all walks of life.
I stood with the rest
by the grave
the casket was lowered
and wailing broke out.
A preacher in a black suit
talked to the man
in the casket
who couldn’t hear:
“You who were made
out of the dust
return to the dust
until the last day.”
Silence.
Sounds of mourning
the crowd slowly dispersed
each one lost in his own sorrow.
I was alone
going back home
asked a few questions
to my own mind:
“What happened
to the...

Wind
It is summer again
school is out
Kite-flying season
is here again.
The wind is strong
contrary it blows
That keeps the kite
up in the sky.
It is the wind
contrary to us
That helps us soar
like eagles in the sky.
