Time—the one thing

We cannot make

Nor can it be ignored.

“Time, please wait,” we can’t say,

For time rushes on.

A new year—a gift of God. Live every second in the light of eternity - by K.P. Yohannan

The World Is In Turmoil, But Do ‘One Thing’ for God, Says K.P. Yohannan

The God of Life Is in Us, So We Never Need to Fear

On March 20, 2020, four convicts were hanged at Delhis Tihar jail in India. More than seven years earlier, they had brutally raped and killed a 23-year-old young girl, a medical student, on a bus. You may remember it being reported all over the news in 2012.

When these men were taken out from prison to be hanged, reports were shared of their loud, uncontrollable fear and weeping. They knew they were walking out of the prison to the gallows.

Whether the COVID-19 virus, or 1,000 other unknown enemies of our temporal lives, let us never fear but know we are given life eternal by the living GodConsider this contrast: Two thousand years ago, an...

Don’t Waste the Coronavirus

The night is dark, but the moon is shining bright. There is a bright side to all dark events we face in life. Dont close your eyes. In all situations, we have the opportunity to look around and find things we can learn in order to become more kind and loving. This season of pandemic is no different.

A day or two ago, I received an email from George Verwer (founder of OM) sharing his 29 suggestions for us to do while we live in isolation and deal with this coronavirus crisis. His list prompted...

Where is God in the COVID–19?

Suffering is part of lifeand it has a purpose.

C.S. Lewis once wrote in a letter to a good friend, I could well believe that it is Gods intention, since we have refused milder remedies, to compel us into unity, by persecution even and hardship. Satan is without doubt nothing else than a hammer in the hand of a benevolent and severe God. For all, either willingly or unwillingly, do the will of God: Judas and Satan as tools or instruments, John and Peter as sons.

KP Yohannan: It is dark around us with the Coronavirus crisis. But Jesus said we are the light of the world.

Gospel for Asia (GFA World)...

New Time

Yet there is a beginning that has no beginning, nor time to mark it.

Beginning denotes time.

Yet there is a beginning

That has no beginning,

Nor time to mark it.

Before time began,

In eternity past,

When time was not—

Our life journey was planned.

The year behind us

Was all in God’s design

All good and bad

To bless us with His blessing.

So now as we step

Into this new year in time

Let us remember

God’s presence to guide us.

For some it is a fresh start—

Forgetting the dark and gloomy...

The One Thing

In 1971, I was invited to spend one month in Singapore at a new institute that had been started by John Haggai. It was still in the formative stages then—a place where Asian church leaders would be trained and challenged to share the Good News of Christ.

Haggai was full of stories. In them all, Christians were overcomers and giants—men and women who received a vision from God and refused to let go of it. Diligence to your calling was a virtue to be highly prized.

Haggai was the first person w...

The Visible and Invisible Battle

I think it’s good to remind ourselves that the huge battles we face against hunger, poverty and suffering in Asia and around the world are in part spiritual, not simply physical or social as secularists would have us believe. It is through the love of Christ that we will effectively win the war against disease, hunger, injustice and poverty.

To look into the sad eyes of a hungry child or see the wasted life of a drug addict is to witness the evidence of Satan’s hold on this world. All bad thi...

How God Uses Us to Show His Love in Practical Ways

During my early days of serving the Lord, I traveled all over India with the missions movement I was part of. In some areas where we served, it was so cold, and we slept outside every night. Thankfully we had these feather sleeping bags that kept us warm during the night.

I can’t imagine what it would have been like to sleep outside at night without even a blanket! Believe it or not, that’s the situation for tens of thousands of people on the streets in Asia.

Being the Hands that Show His Lov...
