Proposals and missing scenes

I've been doing 'on the page' edits for FOREVER VAMPIRE (May '11) for a couple days now.  I usually print up a story at least once during the process of writing it, so I can see it on the page.  It looks and reads much differently than on the computer, trust me.  It's slow going through though, because lately I've been feeling unmotivated.  Not sure what's up with that.  Other things are sort of stalled in my life at the moment, too, so it could all be related.  Just stopped at the end of a c...

More Cover ideas

Now vote on which of these images appeals/intrigues most.  Fonts will change, so ignore that.

In Order, images 1, 2, or 3

Adventures in self-publishing (kinda, sorta)

Lately there's been much debate online whether or not self-publishing is worthwhile for a debut author.  I'm not going to address that because I think it's an individual decision.  I am going to talk a bit about my experience with self-pubbing books of my own that have been previously published.  Or rather, take you all on the journey to do so.  I put up WICKED ANGELS in January because I wanted it to be available to readers who ask for it.  I don't promote it because that's not my intention....

December cover

Can't remember if I posted this.  I don't think I did.  This one is out in December, available as an electronic read from eHarlequin.  It is in the Of Angels and Demons series, and in my overall world of Beautiful Creatures.

Okay, wait!

Try these two on for size.  Both the pics will break the bank for me, but I think I'm liking choice two for the warmth and 'meadow' feel.  What say you?

Opinions please!

So I'm working on a cover for the reissue of My Lady Madness.  Found a great service that scans books into digital files for cheapness.  All my Zebra historicals?  I do not have digital files of them.  So this service is a God-send.  I'll talk more about that some other time.

Right now I'm playing around with images.  The heroine is blonde and...insane.  It's the 18th century.  I just want a face on the cover, and something really pale.  Now that I look at them all together, they look kinda g...

I want this cover!

I just got back from Borders.  While there, this book called to me like a beacon.  Triumff, Her Majesty's Hero.  Take a look at this delicious cover:

It has swords.  It has a sword fight.  It has historical costumes.  It has a gargoyle.  It has a sexy man looking a little scruffy after he's won his fight.  And just check out the blurb:  Being an OUTRAGEOUS & astounding alternate history fantasy of ALCHEMY & SWORDPLAY from the quill of that MASTER of action & adventure, Mr. Dan Abnett.  And on ...

Apocalyptica

Yay! Finally got to see Apocalyptica last night.  It was my birthday present, and I went with my daughter. I haven't been to First Avenue (Minneapolis) in over twenty years, and it was the same, except maybe...brighter.  If you can believe that, considering the whole place is painted black inside and out.  The place was (surprisingly) not packed.  What's wrong with you people?  You missed a great concert!  But that allowed us to get very close.  We sat along a concrete half-wall that lined th...
