Mrs. Miniver
Don and I host an “adaptations” book club wherein we read a book and then watch the movie adaptation (yes, it’s fun!). This month’s movie was Mrs. Miniver, and although I confess I didn’t read the book (busy, busy!) the movie was absolutely wonderful. About life on the homefront in England during the early days of World War II, with stellar acting and a wonderful script that is both heartfelt, honest and genuinely funny at times. Terra Cotta Warriors

The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents one of the most extraordinary archaeological finds of the 20th century, considered by many to be the Eighth Wonder of the World: terra cotta warriors from the tomb complex of China’s First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Intended to protect him throughout eternity, the warriors stood guard over a vast necropolis commissioned by the Emperor when he was only 13 years old.

Kindle Library Program — What’s the hoopla?
After LJ’s article last week about Brigham Young University’s (BYU) usage of the Kindle ereader device for faculty-driven interlibrary loan (ILL), the university is suspending the pilot program, saying that it wants to get written rather than verbal permission from Amazon.com.
I thought this article raised an interesting question. I love my Kindle, but I can’t share my Kindl

The stuff you find on the Internet …
So, I was following links off of Amazon, just doing the surfing thing, and I ran across a site that had a cover for THE GOOD GHOULS’ GUIDE TO GETTING EVEN, which caught my attention not only because the book is currently re-released, not only because I’m podcasting, but because, da-da-da-duhhhhhmmmmm — it had a cover I’ve never seen before:
