Day Seventeen: Talismans – Synchronicity #DoMagick

In the Artists Way Workshop we’ve been talking about letting the universe provide and trusting that things will work out.  How when it is our soul urge to be creative, the opportunities to do so come to us. Kind of like my writing friends came together and started this workshop group at a time I needed creative recovery. Perfect timing or synchronicity?

This talisman is just a gentle reminder that the Daemonic Divine takes care of its own and everything falls into place exactly as it’s suppo...

Day Sixteen: Talisman – Manifesting #DoMagick

Today’s talisman reminds me of the cogs of the machine. The forces at work behind the scenes as we work to manifest our creative will.

This talisman keeps the machine working.  The left side reminds me of the part of the machine we see, while the right hand side (darker) is the secret world inside the machine that makes it work. That machine being a metaphor for the universe, magick, the magician’s true will.. etc…

Day Fifteen: Talismans – Depth #DoMagick

For today’s talisman I painted whatever my creative muse wanted and this is what she gave me.

I’d like to point out that I’m not exactly sure what this is. Creatures swimming in unicorn piss? LOL  All I know is when I look at it the word that comes to mind is DEPTH. The depth of creative emotion. The depth of creative recovery.

This one really shows the interesting effects of watercolor. The way it blends is so satisfying. I don’t know why I keep choosing a myriad of rainbow colors other tha...

Day Fourteen: Talismans – Serenity #DoMagick

I call today’s talisman Serenity because for this watercolor, during the act of its creation, I focused on Serenity.  Upon finishing this piece I felt a deep calm within.  I am not sure why I chose to paint mountains and trees, but probably because I’ve always found great peace hiking in the Rocky Mountains.

Watercolor can be a bitch to work with. I chose watercolor because there’s something about the way the colors blend that I really enjoy.  The brush to paper, the constant dabbing with pa...

Day Thirteen: Talismans – Portals #DoMagick

Today’s talisman kind of looks like bubbles with sigils floating in the air, but they’re actually portals to various energy sources (those represented by the sigils). This talisman is not really meant to DO anything other than act as a reminder to how the portals are accessed, and as a reminder that when you need help — it’s okay to ask for it.

That’s such an important lesson. Far too often I see  people take on too much and then bury themselves, being too ashamed or embarrassed to ask for he...

Day Twelve: Talismans – Resonance #DoMagick

This talisman illustrates the energy (idea) that resonates off of the sigil, thus helping it manifest in the physical world. This is a variant inspired by Lucifuge.  (I’m hooked on him this week.) I made it colorful to represent how one symbol can have many facets or feelings within it.

Again – possibilities, creativity, and everything that manifests the will. This sigil amplifies that resonance from one positive act, in hopes it will keep resonating and inspiring more. I’m finding doing the...

Day Eleven: Talismans – Vision #DoMagick

Today’s talisman is about Vision and Forsight in order to manifest that vision into the physical world.

Day Eleven: Talismans – Vision #DoMagick

Today’s talisman is about Vision and Forsight in order to manifest that vision into the physical world.

I included the Eye of Ra to represent the farseeing vision I need to see the larger picture. The feathers of Ma’at to ensure I judge all I see fairly. The staves of power to represent my will, they symbol of the moon for intuition, the name of Tahuti to honor the God of Scribes and wisdom, and the symbol for Heka to represent the manifestation of the will.

Day Ten: Talisman – Strategy #DoMagick

Today’s Talisman is for creative strategy. I’ve been working with Lucifuge on this front, so his sigil seemed apt as a talisman.

Day Nine: Talismans – Blooming #DoMagick

Our creative impulses only need initiative and nurturing to bloom.  The white and red flowers are passion combined with purity and perhaps perfection (even in imprefection).  The green is for growth. Flowers because ideas burst forth into blossoms.

This talisman helps ideas bloom into full manifestation. We need only to have passion for them, and the desire to create to bring them into the light so that we may share them with others.
