Elemental Haiku + F&SF
Two pieces of good news, one long overdue and one from today.
Back in August 2017, I had 119 haiku published in Science, one for each element of the periodic table. I should have reported months ago that these Elemental Haiku sold to Ten Speed Press. I've written brief explanatory notes to accompany the haiku, and Iris Gottlieb has drawn beautiful illustrations. The book is due out in October.
Today's news: I received my contributor copies of the May/June issue of F&SF, containing my poem "Guinevere." This is my seventh poem to appear in F&SF :-)

Fireside + F&SF + Rhysling nominations
A few pieces of good news to report here.... My poem "In the Caverns of the Moon" is in the March/April issue of F&SF, my sixth poem to appear there. Plus I am honored to have had three poems nominated for this year's Rhysling Award (*). Also, which I should have reported last month, my short story Lord Serpent appeared in Fireside.
(*) The Rhysling-nominated poems are "Dear Creator," from F&SF,; "Alien Interview Questions" from Dreams & Nightmares; and "Dragon Mountain," from Heroic Fantasy Quarterly.

Analog
It is still two weeks till the New Year, but I have received my contributor copies of the Jan/Feb 2019 issue of Analog, containing my short story "Forever."
It's my fourth story to appear in Analog, the first dating back to 2003, the others all within this last year. It's only a short story--1,080 words, which fits onto two pages in the magazine--but I am fond of it.
N.B. Fondness for a piece is not a measure of how good it is. Sometimes I write things, such as humorous pieces, that I hope are well-done, but that don't pull at me emotionally. Other times I am fond of work that I know is flawed.

Daily Science Fiction #3
My short-short story Keeping House has just been published in Daily Science Fiction, my third story to appear there.
I only wish my own household items would take care of the laundry, cleaning, etc.

Analog and F&SF
Happiness! I have a short-short story, titled "Extracts from the Captain's Notes," in the July/August issue of Analog, my third piece there this year. And I have a poem, titled "Red Rising," in the July/August issue of F&SF, also my third piece there this year :-)
Lest anyone gets a misguided impression that all my submissions end well, I've recently been rejected by such places as Apex, Liminality, and the Threepenny Review.

Analog story
My short-short "Prime Development Opportunity: Dirt" has just been published in the May/June 2018 issue of Analog, my first fiction there since 2003 (!)
It's a piece so short that it fits on a single page, and I have another short-short forthcoming in the July/August issue of Analog.

Daily Science Fiction #2
I've had a second story published in Daily Science Fiction. Caution! By my admittedly tame standards, this is a relatively adult-themed piece. If that doesn't deter you, "Fantasy Nights" may be read here.
