Patrick Wolf Shares New Video 'Jupiter - New Album Crying The Neck Out June 13 - USA/Canada Fall Tour

Patrick Wolf Shares New Video For 'Jupiter'New Album Crying The Neck Out June 13 via Apport / Virgin Music USA/Canada Fall Tour
“Beautiful... The album swings between the tender and the bruised throughout, with Wolf’s voice going from a whisper to a soar, all resulting in a most welcome return for this most singular artist.” Uncut – 8/10

May 12, 2025 -  New York, NY: Patrick Wolf shares a new video today, 'Jupiter,' the epic string-laden fourth track from from his much-anticipated new album Crying The Neck out June 13 via Apport/Virgin Music.
Wolf says of 'Jupiter': “On the morning of my first 90 days clean, in recovery I woke just before dawn to see a beautiful, rare alignment of planets above the rooftops of Bloomsbury. There was one planet that shone the brightest and after a quick search I discovered it was Jupiter and so the planet and I have formed a relationship since that moment just before morning, taking on the role of watcher and messenger of change and healing for me. I set the song on the outskirts of Kent, the Medway, the line at the edge of the capital that blurs into nowhere, brownfield and becomes Kent, where I explored to the ends for inspiration to write before leaving the city for good.
The whistling noise you hear throughout was the basis of the production, on a hospital visit mid-summer I heard a strange whistle song coming from under a circle of trees and saw a man dressed in a black suit and a wide brim hat and cane, some kind of apparition of solitude that I had to covertly record on my phone and later that day on a loop I wrote the electric tenor guitar part that forms the main song. The final part of the production comes from the voice of Dr Dame Maggie Aderin Pocock who gave me permission to use a recording I took at a lecture she gave in Canterbury. I am so grateful for her to have become the completing part of a song I love so dearly and has seen me through many stages and years of healing and the path back to wonder again since that dawn when I was visited by Jupiter.”

Watch 'Jupiter on YouTube:  Wolf is presently on a UK and European tour and recently announced USA and Canadian live dates taking place in the fall.
All live dates are listed below. Tickets on sale now. The USA and Canadian wing of the “Stations of The Sun Tour” will see Patrick returning to his very early  Lycanthropy  days of touring the states in the back of his Tennessee manager's car, yet this time driving himself coast to coast with a car full of instruments on what is set to be a solo roadtrip of an adventure, re-connecting to an audience not seen for a decade and meet those who’ve discovered his work in the meantime. The setlist will span both his best known work and the new album, acknowledging the twenty year anniversary of his much loved second album  Wind in the Wires  and exploring its relationship to  Crying the Neck.  Some nights of the tour will be seated and some will be standing, so Wolf is developing two shows for the tour, one to explore his more electronic work, conjuring the magic of his beat-driven setlists and seated evenings that will lend themselves more to the classical, electro-acoustic and folk roots of his work.
The aftermath of addiction, crisis, bankruptcy, recovery and survival shaped  The Night Safari Patrick Wolf’s 2023 return to music after ten years lost to creative impasse and personal upheaval. Now, with seventh studio album  Crying The Neck , the 41-year-old has created a confident and hopeful record inspired by the transfiguring power of grief at the death of his mother, rehabilitation, local folklore and the East Kentish landscape.
Crying The Neck  is the first new album in thirteen years and the first in a planned four album series, was written and recorded in the Kent coastal town of Ramsgate that Wolf now calls home. Here, he has a peaceful studio in the garden, the place in which he was able to find his voice again. In a period of rebuilding,  Crying The Neck  was entirely written, composed, produced and arranged by Wolf himself, with Brendan Cox brought in as co-producer and engineer in the last three years to help finish an album a decade in the making.  Patrick Wolf is one of the most talented and idiosyncratic musicians of his generation, with a run of critically hailed albums, starting with  Lycanthropy  in 2003 to  Lupercalia  in 2011 which saw him incorporating everything from viola, celtic harp, dulcimer, baritone ukulele, piano, harpsichord, analog synthesizers and re-sampled field recordings in his music and collaborating with the likes of Marianne Faithfull, Tilda SwintonAngelo Badalamenti and Patti Smith, among others. He most recently released  The Night Safari EP  two years ago was his first body of work in ten years and  Crying The Neck  is his first studio album in thirteen years. Live Dates: UK/EUMay 10 - Gateshead, UK - The Glasshouse May 11 - Glasgow, UK - St Luke’s May 13 - Leeds, UK - Brudenell Social Club May 15 - London, UK - HERE at Outernet May 16 - Bristol, UK - The Lantern May 20 - Cologne, DE - Gebaude 9 May 21 - Hamburg, DE - Grunspan May 22 - Leipzig, DE - UT Connewitz May 23 - Berlin, DE - Heimathafen May 24 - Warsaw, PL - Niebo May 26 - Ghent, BE - Club Wintercircus May 27 - Amsterdam, NL - Tolhuistuin May 28 - Paris, FR - Trabendo May 29 - Zurich, CH - Dynamo May 31 - Milan - IT - Santeria Toscana 31 June 1 - Bologna. CLIQUE drop ‘In Lives that Won’t Last’ anthology

CLIQUE drop In Lives that Won’t Last anthology

The album compiles their 3 self-released EP’s and is out now via Closed Casket Activities

See CLIQUE on tour in May / June with Full of Hell + more

Clique exists not as a traditional band but as a forum for radical discourse within hardcore's landscape. Formed in 2022 in California with members spanning the Bay Area and Los Angeles, Clique have quickly made a name for themselves through an undeniably vicious live show and a depth that's been long missing from the scene. In a world increasingly defined by individual recognition, the band operates anonymously, rejecting the spotlight in favor of their message and finding strength in collective struggle.

Clique's first collection LP, In Lives That Won’t Last [order] compiles the band's three self-released EPs: Looters in ParadiseA Worldwide Clique, and Communique along with debut single “Future Denied." Previously, it was only available on self-distributed tapes and then eventually through co-conspirators Criminalized out of the San Fernando Valley. This marks the first time their material has been available on vinyl.

This first Clique LP, 'In Lives That Won’t Last,' is an anthology of our collective struggle and perspective on this fucked up world. We see these songs as prayers for the marginalized and exploited, a celebration of our liberation to come, and a eulogy for the state and its worthless existence,” the band shares.

Listen / share In Lives that Won't Last here

In a short time span, Clique’s discography shows off an immediate arc in growth.  From the start, they carved out a niche delivering crushing, ignorant riffs. Most recently, Communique marked the first time the band has worked with an outside entity and producer, enlisting Photographic Memory (Wisp, formerly Militarie Gun). With PhotoMem, the band cemented just how heavy they can get as a band, interspliced with vibier divebombs and guitar textures.

Unlike many of their contemporaries, Clique was formed with explicit political intent. In an era where hardcore’s content has drifted toward toothless posturing, they aim to reintroduce radical thought into a scene that has lost much of its subversive edge. Drawing from influences spanning Crass to Neurosis, Earth Crisis to MBV, they forge a sound that defies easy categorization while undoubtedly belonging to hardcore.

Clique isn't interested in raising awareness for impotent establishment causes or upholding the system. Their vision extends beyond reform to revolution - the dismantling of structures that exploit people, degrade cultures and destroy the earth. Each show is an invitation for people of all walks of life to participate, a reminder that hardcore’s true strength lies in the connection of everybody in the room, erasing the boundary between stage and crowd.

BASK Cover The Brian Jonestown Massacre

Bask Release Cosmic Cover of The Brian Jonestown Massacre's "Anemone"North Carolinians Add Dose of Heavy Americana to Cult FavoriteNew Album Coming Later this Year"Bask simply executes on a whole other level than their peers" - Metal Injection Website Facebook Instagram X Share Share Share Share Forward Forward Bask - Anemone (Brian Jonestown Massacre Cover)

After a smoking hot tour with their labelmates and fellow North Carolinians Weedeater, Bask are now ready to turn over a different kind of leaf. The Asheville natives will release their fourth album later this year. But first, the band are looking back at one of their influences.

"We've always been inspired by acts like The Brian Jonestown Massacre", says guitarist and vocalist Zeb Wright. "They write songs that feel outside of time and place".

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the documentary that thrust The Brian Jonestown Massacre into the spotlight, today, Bask are releasing a cover of "Anemone". The road to get to this point has been much smoother than it was for the shaggy San Franciscan collective, but the heavy dose of Americana that the band bring to this cult classic shows how far they've come.

Listen to Bask's heavy and heady cover of "Anemone" on the Season of Mist YouTube channel.

Even though they're separated across coastlines and nearly three decades, Bask and The Brian Jonestown Massacre were in a similar headspace heading into their fourth albums. While partially named after the Rolling Stones' guitarist, BJM shifted from spaced-out shoegaze to flower-powered '60s psychedelia on 1996's Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request. Bask's upcoming full-length also ventures into headier pastures, though their cover of that album's sleeper hit "Anemone" is plucked straight from the band's Appalachian roots.

"You should be picking me up / Instead you're dragging me down", Wright repeats in a dazed drawl while twanging on his banjo.

Bask haven't endured nearly the same amount of lineup turnover as their kindred spirits in The Brian Jonestown Massacre. On "Anemone", Drummer Scott Middleton and bassist Jesse Van Note hold down a bottomless groove that's as sludgy and free-flowing as a riverbed. But this cover is the first release since Jed Willis joined as the band's official fifth member. As his pedal steel ripples against Ray Worth's colorfully swirling leads, the band take cosmic country into a whole new dimension.

"'Anemone' is hypnotic in its repetition and perfectly expresses the combination of emotional distress and unbothered cool that to us feels so integral to BJM's sound and songwriting", Bask says. "It's also really fun to play and riff on".

COSEY FANNI TUTTI shares new track, 'Never The Same' - Latest from forthcoming solo album, 2t2, out 13 June via Conspiracy International

COSEY FANNI TUTTISHARES NEW TRACK, ‘ NEVER THE SAME  LATEST TO BE TAKEN FROM FORTHCOMING SOLO ALBUM,  2t2
OUT 13 JUNE VIA CONSPIRACY INTERNATIONAL
“An unfettered expression of challenges and frustrations, partly made from darkness, like all of Cosey’s work, 2t2 is a product of love: of the self, family and primarily of life itself, in all its permutations” – The Wire cover feature
“Art thus imitates life. 2t2 represents an astute rumination on Cosey’s own personal struggles and our collective dysphoria” - Electronic Sound

Cosey Fanni Tutti has shared a new track, the latest taste of what to expect from her forthcoming solo album,  2t2 , set for release on the artist’s own imprint, Conspiracy International, on 13 June 2025 on vinyl, CD, and digitally (including Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio).
Listen to ‘Never The Same’ (edit)  HERE
Composed, performed and produced by Cosey Fanni Tutti, the 9-track album moves between propulsive beat constructions and expansive electronic explorations, continuing themes from 2019’s acclaimed album TUTTI. It is a personal reflection; a sonic realisation of her life, drawing on her powerful inner resolve and expressing it through music.
The album finds Cosey making sense of some very tough years, dealing with personal bereavements alongside swingeing world events that have impacted us all. Centring on her own strength and self will, the album’s two distinct sides – one rhythmic, one more meditative – are connected by an overwhelmingly positive mood.
She explains, My overtone chanting on the track ‘Stound’ was part of that, tapping into the inner self, to the core of your being, emotionally, physically, allowing the sounds to permeate and soothe as well as create a sense of power, resistance and resilience to what we face.”
Even in the more melancholic moments, there’s a lightness that she explains is an “acknowledgement that it’s alright to be sad, that’s part of life, but there is so much joy too in our memories of people we lose and in the moments we share with each other. Joy is our resistance.”
There are also threads from her most recent projects running through 2t2. Her latest book RE-SISTERS and the score she wrote for Caroline Catz’s film Delia Derbyshire: The Myths and Legendary Tapes are acknowledged, most directly on ‘Threnody’ which is dedicated to Delia Derbyshire and Andy Christian, an artist friend of Delia’s. He sent Cosey an abstract drawing of the same name, created one night from an improvised evening where he drew while Derbyshire intoned and sang softly as she looked at the drawings, as if reading a score expressing how they made her feel.
Cosey’s process and the different strands that make up her work form a totality of vision. She goes on to say, “Once you get creating and listening, weaving, collaging sound it’s a wonderfully fulfilling feeling that takes you both out of yourself at the same time as essentially deep within.”
The artwork reflects this idea that the album is a “sound cameo”, reflecting the light within the music, and the buzz of life that exists within all of Cosey’s work.
Musician, artist and author Cosey Fanni Tutti has continually challenged boundaries and conventions through her work. As a founding member of the hugely influential avant-garde band Throbbing Gristle, one half of electronic pioneers Chris and Cosey, and as an artist channelling her experience in pornographic modelling and striptease, her work on the margins has reshaped the mainstream.
Her first solo album, Time To Tell (1983) was followed by 2019’s Tutti and 2022’s Delia Derbyshire: The Myths and the Legendary Tapes. Her debut book, the Penderyn Music Book Prize shortlisted Art Sex Music, was published in 2017, followed by RE-SISTERS in 2022 (both Faber), which will soon get a Spanish edition.

May 12, 2025 - Just days after releasing their monumental third studio album MIXED EMOTIONS via Atlantic Records, Icelandic rockers KALEO announce they have added additional dates to their 2025 MIXED EMOTIONS TOUR. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 16th at 10am local time and more information can be found at www.officialkaleo.com

Adding to the already impressive run of dates this year - including Red Rocks, BottleRock Festival and more - the new shows also include New York’s Bowery Ballroom on September 3rd and sees the band opening for Dave Matthews Band at the renowned Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington on August 29th.

Last week the band kicked off the tour in Aspen Colorado and the next night performed a killer set at the legendary Red Rocks. The band performed an incredible set of career spanning hits including their massive single “Way Down We Go” and recently released songs from the new album including “Bloodline,” “Rock N Roller,” “Back Door” and more. Fans were on their feet from the first note and sang back every word to the band including their brand new songs!

Listen to MIXED EMOTIONS HERE

Last week the band released their highly anticipated new MIXED EMOTIONS album which was produced by GRAMMY® Award Winner Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Sierra Ferrell) and co-produced by frontman JJ Julius Son and GRAMMY® Award Winner Shawn Everett (The Killers, Kacey Musgraves). MIXED EMOTIONS is a landmark rock album tackling themes from ending gun violence to overcoming despair. It even includes a re-imagined version of an Icelandic lullaby (roughly translates to “Sleep, My Little Love”) with “Sofdu Unga Ástin Mín”- a fan favorite that has been sung back to KALEO in countless countries in their own Icelandic language. It’s KALEO’s most ambitious album yet and it hits hard and digs deep in its mission for us to embrace our full spectrum of emotions during these trying times.

“The theme of MIXED EMOTIONS is kind of going through the various mood swings of life. For me, both mentally and musically,” says JJ. “I don’t like to limit myself to a specific genre and enjoy the freedom to explore where to take my songs sonically. They are each different and require different treatments and approaches. I truly feel there is something for everyone on this album.”

Work on MIXED EMOTIONS began in March 2023 at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, and was completed in between non-stop touring. It is a passionate, artistic statement from a band unafraid to take chances but comfortable with the unique sound they have refined over their many years on the road. "Finding time between two years of heavy touring, the band put all their energy into making this album,” producer Eddie Spear stated, adding, “JJ in particular dedicated and pushed himself to near destruction to get the vocal performances and arrangements to be as enjoyable as they are. There’s nothing better than making music with your friends and I am so proud to have helped facilitate the production of such a fantastic collection of songs.”

Crunching guitars and pounding drums underscore the high-octane, adrenaline-fueled singles, “ Rock N Roller,” and “Back Door” - songs which show us how to let the good times roll even when the times are hard. Elsewhere, KALEO displays sonic restraint, drawing inspiration from folk and American roots. On single “Lonely Cowboy” they utilize subtle plucked acoustic guitars ringing over haunting pedal steels. Slow building anthem “USA Today,” unleashes a sound more impassioned, and thought-provoking than anything the band has released to date. Throughout JJ’s distinct and inimitable vocals shine, sharing potent stories of overcoming adversity and finding peace within.

The band have been celebrating the new music with numerous notable press moments including features with Spin Magazine, Forbes, American Songwriter, and an incredible Late Night TV performance of “Rock N Roller” on Jimmy Kimmel Live - watch the performance HERE. “Rock N Roller” was also chosen to appear in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game campaign and was the theme song for the entire season of SEC Football on ABC. In addition, “USA Today” was used in the first trailer for Season 5 (Pt. 2) of Yellowstone, and “Legacy” is currently featured as the theme song for the NHL on TNT Stanley Cup Playoffs campaign.

Not to mention they hosted an exclusive album release party in Nashville to celebrate the release of the record last week where a who’s who of Nashvillians were in attendance to hear the new music. They treated attendees to a special performance, aura readings, free tattoos and more - see photos from the event HERE.

Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Adam Granduciel (The War On Drugs) at his studio in Burbank, CA and mixed by 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer Jonathan Low (Taylor Swift, The National, Hurray For The Riff Raff), Always Been features musical performances by Granduciel and other members of The War on Drugs, as well as guest vocals by Kathleen Edwards and Sam Fender. Hailed by Paste for “a sound that sparkles in vivid, electric-blue hues…a lightning-bolt sound comprising steadfast motorik beats and tight, palm-muted guitar work alongside warm washes of synthesizer and humming gospel organ,” the collection – which marks the sixth LP in a solo discography that sits alongside Finn’s finest work as frontman and vocalist of The Hold Steady – includes by such standouts as “Luke & Leanna,” the album-opening “Bethany,” and “People of Substance,” the latter of which received worldwide applause from such publications as Rolling Stone, SPIN, NME, Stereogum, Consequence, Under The Radar, and more.

In addition, the release of Always Been is accompanied by the new short story collection, Lousy With Ghosts, a limited edition 92-page book featuring 11 works of fiction by Finn set in the same universe as the album, offering new and deeper looks at the characters from the songs. The first edition of Lousy With Ghosts is sold out, and a second printing is available now.

Finn will celebrate the publication of Lousy With Ghosts at a pair of very special book signing sessions and in-store performances beginning Tuesday, May 20 at Kingston, NY’s Rough Draft Bar & Books. Complete details can be found HERE. Next, Finn will visit New York City’s Rough Trade Below for a conversation, live performance, and signing of store-purchased copies of Always Been and Lousy With Ghosts, set for Tuesday, June 3. Tickets for the event can be purchased HERE.

“I believe this to be the most narrative record I have made,” says Finn. “Most songs concern a protagonist who pursued a career as a clergyman despite a lack of faith. The record tells the story of his rise and fall and redemption, while also filling out the details of his travels and the world in which he lives. I am very proud of what we made, I hope you enjoy.”

Praise for Always Been:

“Great new solo LP.”

- Rolling Stone

“The ingredients that make The Hold Steady special are in Craig Finn’s lyricism…a novelistic songwriter who writes with rich detail and vivid characters…on this record, these characters feel closer to his lived experience than on previous records.”

- NPR/All Songs Considered

“The Hold Steady meets The War On Drugs” is exactly what Always Been sounds like, and it’s even better in execution than it is on paper…In a genre where most of the greats are old souls to begin with it only makes sense that with more wisdom

and more life experience comes one of Craig Finn’s best records yet.”

- Brooklyn Vegan

"It’s his most narrative-driven record to date... Finn’s also hitting the road with Bob Mould in support of the album, which is basically a perfect musical pairing."

- AV Club

"Backed by members of the War on Drugs, the Hold Steady bandleader has never sounded so alive. His latest solo work shimmers with an energy that perfectly suits him and his cast of characters."

- Paste

"Craig Finn And The War On Drugs are a super team on ‘Always Been.’"

- UPROXX

"Craig Finn (With War On Drugs) makes soaring rock statement with Always Been."

- Glide Magazine

"It’s a masterclass in narrative songwriting and a high-water mark in Finn’s solo career."

-Mxdwn
