N8NOFACE SIGNS TO STONES THROW, SHARES “WAITING TO WAIT FOR YOU”

N8NOFACE SIGNS TO STONES THROW RECORDS, SHARES NEW SINGLE “WAITING TO WAIT FOR YOU”

ON TOUR WITH EYEDRESS ACROSS THE US THIS SUMMER

Listen to "Waiting to Wait for You":

https://sthrow.com/waitingtowaitforyou

N8NOFACE by Sela Shiloni

N8NOFACE (pronounced “Nate-no-face”) has signed with Stones Throw. To celebrate the signing, and ahead of touring this spring and summer, he’s released the new song “Waiting to Wait for You.”

N8NOFACE had already barely survived an insane Hollywood biopic of a gangster/rockstar life long before Fred Durst invited him to join Limp Bizkit’s Loserville tour, playing arenas across the US and Europe. His drug-addled ultraviolent lifestyle in Tucson, AZ, shaped the dark themes and chaotic sound of his music. Now on the other side of that turmoil, after relocating to Long Beach, CA in the early 2010s and cleaning up, N8's kept one foot firmly in the synth-punk world while also exploring his more vulnerable, tender side.

N8 began his music career as one half of glitchy chiptune Tucson duo Crimekills back in the MySpace era, recording one-minute songs on the fly in his closet. Since that time he’s collaborated with Eyedress and the Bloody Beetroots and performed with the likes of Cypress Hill as well as Limp Bizkit.

N8’s signing to Stones Throw might surprise anyone aware of his past releases on Eyeball Records and Justin Pearson’s Three One G, but to those familiar with a certain dimension of Stones Throw’s catalog – from the Minimal Wave compilations to bands like Automatic – as well as N8’s range as an artist, it makes perfect sense.

Where N8's earlier music was fueled by his addictions and the dark tales of hometown friends associated with Mexican drug cartels, new song “Waiting to Wait for You” looks at the day-to-day frustrations of love. N8 says, “It’s about still finding joy in watching your partner try outfit after outfit on; feeling like your whole night is waiting to wait, and you can't wait to do it.”

He explains, “Most songs I have written have come to me through things I have seen or experienced (drug tales, border life and the streets), But I have always been a fan of love, and wrote about that too. Love found in the darkest places, sometimes by the scariest people. I always bounce back and forth from heartbreak in the streets or from a lover. This song explores the cool things about love, while still having a backdrop of the scary hard world around us.”

For “Waiting to Wait for You”, N8NOFACE worked with producer/songwriter Marcos Garcia (aka Chico Mann, founding member of Antibalas and Here Lies Man), who’d previously backed N8NOFACE as his touring guitarist/keyboardist.

N8NOFACE performs at Cruel World festival this weekend before heading out on the road with Eyedress for The Stoner Tour this summer.

Mark Stewart Shares New Single "Neon Girl" Feat. Gina Birch || New Album 'The Fateful Symmetry' Out 7/11 On Mute

LISTEN TO NEW SINGLE “NEON GIRL”
FEAT. GINA BIRCH  OF THE RAINCOATS

THE FATEFUL SYMMETRY OUT 7/11 ON MUTE

“TASTE IS A FORM OF PERSONAL CENSORSHIP” - Mark Stewart

“Mark Stewart is my hero” - Daddy G (Massive Attack)

“A fearsome vocalist & unbelievably exciting frontman to whom I am deeply indebted” -Nick Cave

“Bristol would be a very different place artistically & politically if it had not been for Mark’s influence on all of us” - Geoff Barrow (Portishead)

Mute have today announced details of the release of “Neon Girl”, the latest single to be taken from Mark Stewart’s recently announced eighth solo album, The Fateful Symmetry.

Featuring backing vocals by longtime affiliate Gina Birch (The Raincoats) and co-produced by Youth, “Neon Girl” was inspired by the infectious “singalong” chorus of iconic French singer George Brassens and the “cinematic staging” of the classic film The 39 Steps. Stewart’s eloquent, singular lyricism is as prescient as always, and evermore poignant now: “His arms were too short to box with God (sorry the irony’s lost on me)”.

The video for “Neon Girl” was created by Peter Harris and Hugo Glendinning.

Watch the video for “Neon Girl” HERE.

“Neon Girl” follows the release of “Memory Of You”, the first track to be lifted from The Fateful Symmetry, which was completed shortly before Mark’s untimely passing in April 2023.

Released on July 11, 2025 on Mute, the album is a vital new masterwork and timely reminder of the groundbreaking and enduringly influential artist Mark Stewart.

Across an illustrious career of pioneering music with The Pop Group, Mark Stewart & Maffia and as a solo artist, Stewart has produced a seminal body of work, galvanized by the DIY ideals of punk, radical politics, protest movements, theory, philosophy, technology, art and poetry. With The Fateful Symmetry, Stewart’s abiding legacy as a “revered countercultural musician” (The Guardian) is sustained, with an album as fearless and visionary as his best work.

Testifying to Stewart’s prolific, unrelenting ingenuity and signifying one of his most intimate, empowering statements, The Fateful Symmetry is an astonishingly expressive and innovative record, a fierce and beautiful manifesto for a better world. The inimitable, titanic Mark Stewart, never normalized, always extraordinary.

Pre-order The Fateful Symmetry HERE.

The Fateful Symmetry track listing:

1. Memory Of You
2. Neon Girl
3. This Is The Rain
4. Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime (Bébe Durmiendo Cumbia Bootleg)
5. Stable Song
6. Twilight’s Child

SLOW CRUSH Announce New Album 'Thirst' on Pure Noise, Share Title Track / Video. Headlining Fall Tour.

Slow Crush Announce New Album Thirst
Coming August 29 via Pure Noise Records

Release Title Track / Video - Watch / Share

Headlining North American Tour This Fall

Slow Crush L-R: Frederik Meeuwis (Drums), Isa Holliday (vocals, bass), Nic Placklé (Guitar),

Jelle Harde Ronsmans (Guitar / Vocals) | Photo By Stefaan Temmerman

Slow Crush have announced their new album, Thirst, on which the dynamic four piece further cement themselves at the forefront of rock and shoegaze. On Thirst, Slow Crush’s dynamic textures, propulsive rhythms and gauzy riffs glow bright as ever, but this time with more grit. Today they’ve shared the album’s leading single and title track which emerges as the defining anthem. The band tell, “‘Thirst’ is about an unquenchable desire for what’s next, with focus on essence and balance. Not losing yourself in the ever-growing distractions that surround us. A yearning pulse for renewal, ‘Thirst’ ripples with a craving for something pure, something vital. It churns with an unrelenting drive, building an electrifying momentum that surges forward and breaks through, offering both release and rebirth."

Watch “Thirst” Official Music Video | Playlist / Listen Here

The past few years off the road have given Slow Crush space to breathe and create since the release of their two critically acclaimed albums, Aurora (2018) and Hush (2021), which have sold over several tens of thousands physical copies. When the time came to head into the studio, vocalist / bassist Isa Holliday, drummer Frederik Meeuwis, guitarists Jelle Ronsmans and Nic Placlé decamped to The Ranch in Southampton, U.K., to work with producer Lewis Johns with no expectations in mind, aside from a metamorphosis.

Thirst’s ten tracks are a thematic cascade of noise that echoes the end and bursts into new life. The riffs are heavier, the vocals are dreamier and more emotional than ever. Isa broke new ground in her vulnerability when while in the recording booth. There were several songs she couldn’t record without dissolving into tears – her deepest excavation of feelings yet.

Thirst’s overarching theme is what Isa describes as “the romance of being with a loved one”. Although being away from someone close for long periods might strain that bond at times, the return can feel glorious, the connection sparkling new again for a while. Slow Crush set out to capture the feeling of being tethered yet feeling weightless, absorbed in the surreal beauty of the quiet moments with someone.

Isa explains, “We want people to let themselves go and feel embraced by the music, so that they can experience it in 4D. That's what we hear a lot from people who come to see us live, or people who've listened to our previous albums, is that we take them to another dimension. I think that's something that we miss in this day and age with everything that's going on in the world, making us very aware of everything outside, but not allowing us to just be in the moment as much as you should. We want to let people take a moment for themselves and let the music take them wherever they would like to go.”

Thirst sees its release August 29 via Pure Noise Records, their first for the label. Slow Crush are set for a headlining Fall run which kicks off on the East Coast in early September and covers both coasts, the midwest and more. Tickets are on sale now. 3x GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright announces an original West End cast recording of John Cassavetes’ Opening Night and release concert with Broadway stars at Town Hall on September 15th. Pre-orders for the physical CD are available now. Tickets can be purchased here

Wainwright says, “I could not be happier to bring the music from my first stage musical Opening Night to a New York audience. Town Hall has been a musical home to me and my family in New York for decades and to be on stage with Sara, Patti, Darren, Elizabeth, and Laura is going to be a great thrill. To have all these Broadway legends agree to bring the songs from Opening Night in their original orchestration to life is a great honor and I am thrilled that we are raising money for the ACLU at the same time.”

John Cassavetes' Opening Night is the first stage musical with music, lyrics, and orchestrations by Rufus Wainwright. It premiered in London at the Gielgud Theater in the spring of 2024. The book and direction were by Ivo van Hove and is based on the 1977 movie Opening Night by American avant-garde director John Cassavetes. It tells the story of an actress, Myrtle Gordon, who is premiering a play written for her that is about a woman coming to terms with aging. Myrtle does not come to terms with her own aging and rebels against the play and throws the entire production into jeopardy. A young female fan asking her for an autograph at the stage door gets killed by a car as she runs off onto the street. Myrtle is being haunted by the ghost of the young girl. On opening night, she arrives completely drunk but ultimately does what she does best: act and improvise. Part "All About Eve" Opening Night is the story of an actress who risks madness for her truth.

The live album features Wainwright’s songs written for the original London West End production performed by the cast including Sheridan Smith, Nicola Hughes, and Benjamin Walker recorded over the last 4 performances of the play at London’s Gielgud Theater. Details and a first single will be released soon.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased here. A minimum of $30 per ticket sold will be donated to the ACLU's LGBTQ & HIV Project.

The release of the album is being celebrated by a one-night-only concert at Town Hall, in New York City which will feature performances by a group of friends Wainwright has in the music and stage world including Sara Bareilles,  Darren Criss, Patti LuPone, and Elizabeth Teeter. Wainwright will join this cast of talented performers and sing some of the songs himself, and act as the MC, leading through the evening and explaining the story of the musical. Jason Hart, who was in Rufus' band for many years, is the music director and is leading the 13-piece band that will perform Wainwright's original West End arrangements.

“(Opening Night) shakes up musical theatre itself”

“While Wainwright has always shown a genius for creating whole sonic and emotional worlds in brief songs, he reaches new heights here.”

CABARET VOLTAIRE Stephen Mallinder & Chris Watson mark 50 years of Cabaret Voltaire live with an exclusive performance at FORGE Warehouse in Sheffield for Sensoria Festival - 25 October 2025

CABARET VOLTAIRE REDUX
STEPHEN MALLINDER & CHRIS WATSON MARK 50 YEARS OF CABARET VOLTAIRE LIVE WITH AN  EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE  AT FORGE WAREHOUSE, SHEFFIELD FOR SENSORIA FESTIVAL
25 OCTOBER 2025

Stephen ‘Mal’ Mallinder and Chris Watson will mark 50 years of Cabaret Voltaire live with an event at FORGE Warehouse in Sheffield for Sensoria Festival on 25 October 2025.
The announcement today marks 50 years since Cabaret Voltaire first performed at the Sheffield Students Union Refectory on 13 May 1975. The performance, which was greeted with violence by some factions in the audience, is the catalyst for the event in October to celebrate Cabaret Voltaire, one of Britain’s most influential and pioneering electronic bands.
In the current climate of social turmoil and political manipulation the work of Cabaret Voltaire continues to be prescient and necessary. The sounds, words, images and films of the band resonate loudly, continuing to challenge the status quo.
The intention for the performance in Sheffield is to curate this essential work and to acknowledge the timeless energy and to mark the continuing significance and power of what Cabaret Voltaire achieved. Original members Chris Watson and Stephen Mallinder are committed to stay true to the enduring vision of Cabaret Voltaire. The performance will cover the arc of their formidable output - from early experiments, and the first Rough Trade / Factory releases, through the band's Doublevision video label and into the work with renowned producers such as Adrian Sherwood and Marshall Jefferson.
Stephen Mallinder explains, “The live set is built from scratch but faithful to the original tracks. Everything has been painstakingly reconstructed with the original technology and processes to build the tracks. But as with all Cabs live shows there is an element of unpredictable, the new. Chance meets causality.”
Chris Watson goes on to say, “I’m delighted and totally thrilled to make a contribution to the band’s 50th anniversary. To share a stage once more with Mal and to honour Cabaret Voltaire's legacy will be a unique privilege, whilst remembering that in the current times – as back then - the Dadaist interventions of Cabaret Voltaire remain essential.”
Tonight, 13 May, Sensoria Festival will mark the anniversary of their first performance with CV50, a special event at Gut Level in Sheffield featuring performances by aya, alongside emerging Sheffield artists, MYNA and Alex.Aubyn.
Events marking the momentous anniversary continue on with 50 Years of Sonic Shock – A Celebration of Cabaret Voltaire, who present a show on 16 May with Russell HaswellPrangers and Synth Club live, plus special talks on the night, and an exhibition running from 15-18 May. Stephen Mallinder will be in conversation with Jamie Taylor and Travis Elborough on 14 May, at the launch of Taylor’s book, Studio Electrophonique

On the heels of their explosive Coachella performance, The Prodigy will be performing for the first time at Portola, and the iconic dance-punk group The Rapture will be performing their first announced show following an extended hiatus. Additionally, “Brat Summer” successor Blood Orange joins the lineup with teases of new music on the horizon.

This year, the inaugural Portola headliners, The Chemical Brothers, will be shutting down the Warehouse on Saturday for what’s expected to be an unforgettable DJ set. This performance will be their only confirmed North American DJ set this year outside of a New York date. Anti Up, the live side project of dance music forces Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, will also perform their only confirmed show of 2025.

SHE WANTS REVENGE | CRUEL WORLD Performance This Weekend + FOREVER NOW Appearance in June

SHE WANTS REVENGE

DARK ALTERNATIVE GROUP SET TO PERFORM AT

CRUEL WORLD FESTIVAL - MAY 17TH IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

& FOREVER NOW FESTIVAL - JUNE 22ND IN ENGLAND

Dark-alternative duo She Wants Revenge have been performing live and creating new music for their massive, ever-expanding global audience. They will return to the road for two performances at the Cruel World Festival in Southern California on May 17th, and its UK sister festival Forever Now in Milton Keynes, UK.

The band, led by Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin, has stayed true to the gothic sound and dark dance music they are known for while also reinventing themselves. Years after the release of their Gold-certified self titled debut album and platinum-selling single “Tear You Apart,” the band is more popular than ever with over 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone and a deep cut from 2009’s Up And Down EP going viral on TikTok.

Now, with a revitalized band featuring Warfield on vocals/guitar, Bravin on Bass VI and synths, Thomas Froggatt on bass, Tony Bevilacqua (The Distillers) on guitar, and Lia Braswell (Sextile, A Place To Bury Strangers, TR/ST) on drums, She Wants Revenge is reinvigorated, inspired and more certain of their place and purpose than ever, and have begun work on their long-awaited fourth album, writing and recording between tours.

The band is excited to perform with joy for their loyal fans and a new generation getting to experience their brand of dark dance music for the first time.

2025 FESTIVAL APPEARANCES

May 17 - CRUEL WORLD FESTIVAL - Pasadena, CA

June 22 - FOREVER NOW FESTIVAL - Milton Keynes, UK

ABOUT SHE WANTS REVENGE

She Wants Revenge began as a production duo who were making songs to spin at the clubs they were DJing. They ended up signing to Geffen Records when a three song demo made it to the label via a friend. The demos became the basis of their 2005 self-titled LP, and they hit the road supporting Bloc Party, The Kills and OKGO. Soon they were opening for Depeche Mode, The Psychedelic Furs, Placebo, co-headlining with Bauhaus’ Peter Murphy, performing at Coachella, and in constant rotation on alternative rock across the country. In under a year, the oddball tune they thought to be an evil cousin of the B52’s and Wall of Voodoo saw them blitzing through the late-night talk show circuit, and – with additional singles “Out of Control” and “These Things” – climbing the charts.

Though they came to prominence in the mid-aughts post-punk revival, Justin and Adam were more indebted to their early influences; Prince, Tangerine Dream, ELO, Giorgio Moroder, and 90s hip-hop. It was their true-to-the-era production style, thoughtful songwriting, and heart-on-the-sleeve lyricism which ran counter to the studied dance punk and emotionally distanced, clever sound of their contemporaries which endeared them to the legions of fans who hungered for their brand of bold, emotive music which was sorely lacking at the time. In doing so, they made fans of both old school goths and darkwave aficionados and their younger counterparts, and more pointedly, drew nods and praise from the bands who directly inspired them - cementing SWR’s legacy as torch bearers for the moody and morose who came before.

They released their 2nd LP This Is Forever (2007), followed by back-to-back EP’s Save Your Soul (2008) and Up and Down (2009), and their swan song, Valleyheart (2011). Musically and creatively, their sound evolved, but as blogs and streaming reshaped the industry, the live shows still grew as more and more devoted fans discovered them. Along the way they collaborated with Timbaland, made videos with Shirley Manson and Joaquin Phoenix, and created a body of work that both broke new ground, while also continuing the tradition of the music, films and pop-culture of the 70s and 80s that shaped their youth.

In 2015, the band’s friend and vocal supporter Lady Gaga helped place “Tear You Apart” in the premiere episode of American Horror Story, instantly reigniting interest in the band after a brief hiatus. She Wants Revenge was back on the charts and steadily streaming, and the duo was now the “favorite new band” of young audiences longing for more of what they heard on the show. This led to the band hitting the road to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their debut album where old fans were ecstatic, and new fans were thrilled to finally see them live.

After a run of sold-out shows in LA in early 2020, they sat down to finally record a new album but, when the pandemic hit, their personal and professional worlds were turned upside down. They reconvened in 2022, more driven than ever, and set about touring across the US, Europe, the UK and Australia. What they discovered wasn’t just sold-out shows in nearly every market but new, young audiences of teenagers and 20-somethings brought up on the 3rd wave goth that the boys inspired, yet never had the chance to see live.
