GLARE announce N.A. headline tour with Cloakroom, Jivebomb + Destiny Bond

Glare announce North American headline tour in Sep Oct

See them on the road with Cloakroom, Jivebomb, Destiny Bond in select cities [AUS, CHI, NYC, PHL more]

New LP Sunset Funeral out now

"Introspective in temperament and intricate in composition, this is the ideal late-night, long drive soundtrack." -  Knotfest

"...hits like a quadruple shot of Sunny D and Codeine on a bright summer’s day." -  Revolver Magazine

"comforting haze-warp" -  Stereogum

"All too often shoegaze bands place their focus on finding new ways to bathe things in delay, forgetting that... the emphasis is supposed to be on making rock music. Texas’ Glare puts songwriting first, less obsessed with just dialing in the authentic shoegaze sound." -  Treble

Texas shoegazers Glare released their highly-anticipated debut LP Sunset Funeral last April and have been out on the road with Superheaven in support of it.  Now, the band have shared that they'll headline their own tour in September and October 2025 with Cloakroom, Jivebomb and Destiny Bond in tow.  The tour follows Glare's appearance at Sound & Fury this July, midwest appearances shortly thereafter, as well as more exciting happenings to be announced soon.  Glare will also be appearing at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento and Furnace Fest in Birmingham this fall (dates  below).  Tickets for the headlining run will be on sale Friday June 6th at 10am local time here.

Formed in 2017 in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, Glare aren’t so much genre traditionalists as they are painters of wide realms and intense moods. The four-piece band has accumulated a large audience, both in the flesh with their reputation for sell-out shows, and on the internet, a place where people go to short-circuit feelings through their screens.

Their new album Sunset Funeral is a document of unspeakable grief, charting the process of mourning and how it travels through our subconscious and dreams.  On first listen, the album— which scans as vast as desert sand— may overwhelm the senses. But look closer, and you’ll find a multiplicity of heavily crushed textures, treasures. The music drifts heavenward, to be sure, though it’s still tethered down by steady foundations. It’s beautiful. It’s humid. It’s delirious. It’s music made by people whose feelings speak louder than their words.

Pick up Sunset Funeral here and see Glare on tour in North America this summer fall.  More news coming soon.

(June 3, 2025) - Los Angeles singer-songwriter Harmony shares her new single “Anything.” The new song arrives alongside a stunning video directed by Amalia Irons featuring Harmony donning angel wings, performing in an otherworldly club, and in a shimmering field full of lovers and creatures. “Anything” closely follows the heart-longing single “Where Strangers Go,” which arrived with a collaged video of Harmony and her lover in New York City spliced with home video footage. Harmony’s recent offerings highlight her poetic and earnest songwriting, which she became known for with her tenure in Girlpool, and preview what is to come from the Hollywood darling.

Speaking about “Anything,” Harmony shares, “‘Anything’ is a love song about dedication. The desire to be all the ugly and beautiful things and the transcendence of that feeling.”

video stills

“Anything” and “Where Strangers Go” mark Harmony’s first songs since the release of her debut solo album Gossip from last year, which includes the songs “No Romeo” and “Miss America.” The album showcases Harmony’s unique talent for pairing tongue-in-cheek lyrics with societal criticism and intricate pop production.

Born and raised in Hollywood, Harmony is a singer-songwriter who has made a name for herself with her poignant lyrics and delicate, evocative voice. As one half of canonical indie band Girlpool, Harmony’s songwriting has often been praised for its striking honesty and emotional clarity. Whether the musical production dons earth shattering pop sonics or straight-forward instrumentation, Harmony brings the same poetical fervor and olympic emotion to her lyrics, exploring the complexities of the human experience with depth and sensitivity.

Check out “Anything” above and stay tuned for more from Harmony coming soon.

FAILURE ANNOUNCE BAND DOCUMENTARY

EVERY TIME YOU LOSE YOUR MIND

AVAILABLE ON HULU & HULU ON DISNEY+ JUNE 27TH

Film Features Interviews With Hayley Williams, Jason Schwartzman, David Dastmalchian, Margaret Cho, Steve Albini, Butch Vig,

Rick Beato & More

Los Angeles Premiere On June 26th At Harmony Gold Theater

ft. Rare Acoustic Set From The Band

WATCH THE TRAILER HERE

As otherworldly as Failure may often sound, the Los Angeles band is anchored by the distinctly terrestrial union of a long friendship between three musical allies – Ken Andrews [vocals, guitar, bass, programming], Greg Edwards [vocals, guitar, bass, keys] and Kellii Scott [drums, percussion]. Today, Failure announce the release of Every Time You Lose Your Mind, the feature length documentary directed by Andrews that has been a decade in the making. The documentary follows the band from inception to present, and features interviews with David Dastmalchian, Margaret Cho, Hayley Williams, Jason Schwartzman, Tommy Lee, Maynard James Keenan, Butch Vig, Rick Beato and more.

Every Time You Lose Your Mind will be available to stream via Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on June 27, 2025. Watch the film’s trailer here: https://youtu.be/hU0XQNbiBuc.

Like a falling satellite blazing across the musical landscape, Failure flamed-out in the late ‘90s – their promising rise derailed by drug addiction and record company inertia. But the pioneering trio left a profound imprint that transcended their affiliation with the LA alt-rock scene. Every Time You Lose Your Mind documents the origins, downfall and rebirth of a band that’s beloved by their peers and multiple generations of fans.

“Our fans have connected with the themes of depression and addiction in our music,” notes Andrews. “The film crystallizes those connections and, ultimately, communicates hope. We’re a band that faced a specific set of challenges and somehow managed to survive and thrive. It's a story about resilience, finding ways to cope, and not giving up.”

To celebrate the streaming release, the film will make its big screen debut on June 26th at the Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles, CA with the band performing a rare acoustic set before the film starts. Limited tickets are available here: https://www.failurebandvip.com

FAILURE LIVE DATES

Jun 26 Los Angeles, CA - Harmony Gold Theater **doc premiere + acoustic set

Sep 20 Louisville, KY - Louder than Life Fest

Oct 03 - Sacramento, CA - Aftershock Fest

Over the course of six albums, Failure has exerted a similar effect on listeners. Their musical communion has intrigued critics, fans, and peers for nearly three decades. Following Comfort and Magnified, the trio created what is largely considered one of the ‘90s most influential and innovative albums: Fantastic Planet. The 17-track collection not only earned rave reviews and a trove of new fans but saw the band headline Lollapalooza’s second stage and craft one of the era’s most recognizable videos (“Stuck on You”). The album’s legend grew over the ensuing years, eventually spawning retrospective think pieces from the likes of Rolling Stone, Noisey (Vice), Decibel Magazine, and more. Failure has been honored with covers by A Perfect Circle, Paramore, Cave In, Melissa Auf de Maur, and more. After a 17-year hiatus, they returned with The Heart Is a Monster in 2015, inciting the applause of Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly, and Stereogum who said upon the album’s release: “this is a pretty big deal.” Their most recent album is 2021’s Wild Type Droid, recorded in the midst of the global pandemic.

Crime & the City Solution Share Acoustic Version Of "Rivers of Blood" || Announce Fall Tour Dates

CRIME & THE CITY SOLUTION SHARE ACOUSTIC VERSION OF “RIVERS OF BLOOD

ANNOUNCE FALL TOUR DATES AND
DARK MOFO FESTIVAL 2025 IN TASMANIA

In joyful anticipation of Crime & the City Solution’s headline show at Dark Mofo Festival on June 13, 2025, in Hobart, Tasmania, the band have shared “Rivers of Blood (Acoustic),” the newest installment in their series of live acoustic recordings and reinterpretations.

Listen to “Rivers of Blood (Acoustic) HERE.

The Crime acoustic series is, according to primary songwriter and vocalist Simon Bonney, “born of a want to play the songs as they were first written - in a lounge room on an acoustic guitar - to create an intimate atmosphere that captures the simple joy of friends playing together for friends, unmediated by technology.”

The three-piece acoustic iteration of Crime features Bronwyn Adams (violin and vocals), Simon Bonney (vocals) and Joshua Murphy (acoustic guitar and vocals), and, following their performance at Dark Mofo, the trio will embark on a tour in September / October, beginning in Malmö before travelling to Denmark and the UK, with a date at St Mathias Church in London on September 25th. Full dates are listed below.

Talking about the festival date, Bonney says, “For our show at Dark Mofo we will be opening with a selection of acoustic renderings and then turning up to 11 and closing out the set with a full-throttle electric set of classic Crime controlled chaos.”

Crime & the City Solution Live Dates:

6/13/2025 - Tasmania, AU - Dark Mofo Festival
9/11/2025 - Malmö, SE -  Plan B
9/12/2025 - Jönköping, SE -  The Hush Hush Club

9/30/2025 - Bristol, UK -  Jam Bar
10/2/2025 - Preston, UK - The Ferret

Crime & the City Solution recently returned after a 10-year hiatus to release their sixth studio album, the killer, on Mute. Inspired by Bonney’s work delivering aid programmes, it looks at the ways conflict manifests in everyday life, and features tracks such as “Rivers of Blood,” “Brave Hearted Woman,” “Peace in my Time,” and “Witness,” which the band recently performed live for Le Cargo.
Formed in Sydney by Simon Bonney at the age of 16, Crime & the City Solution’s early performances from 1977-1979 had a big impact on key figures of the early Melbourne art-punk/post punk scene. In 1984, Bad Seed Mick Harvey shipped Bonney to England to form the London based Crime with their friend the brilliant and ever influential ex-Birthday Party guitarist Rowland S Howard, with his brother Harry Howard on bass and Epic Soundtracks on drums. The London incarnation, encapsulated by these two reissues, disbanded soon after their performance in “Wings of Desire.” Crime’s London alumni included the late Epic Soundtracks (co-founder of Swell Maps), Mick Harvey (who released his sixth solo album,  Five Ways to Say Goodbye  in May), and brothers Rowland S. Howard and Harry Howard, who went on to form These Immortal Souls after their time with Crime ( Get Lost (Don’t Lie!), I’m Never Gonna Die Again (1992 )  and new compilation EXTRA  are out now Mute).
The first Berlin incarnation which followed is represented by three albums recently reissued on Mute - Shine (1988), The Bride Ship (1989) and Paradise Discotheque (1990), and the live album, The Adversary. Another 20 years would pass before the band, then based in Detroit, would return with their fifth studio album, American Twilight“as much an elegy to the American Dream that's turned into a global nightmare as it is a damn fine rock & roll album” -The Quietus
Crime & the City Solution recently announced a book of selected lyrics, Love In A Time Of Violence, out now via Heartworm Press.

Listen to “Witness (Acoustic)” HERE.
Purchase or stream “The Bride Ship (Acoustic)” HERE.

Purchase or stream Crime’s recent reissues HERE.

RECENT PRAISE FOR CRIME & THE CITY SOLUTION:

“A wounded and battered ensemble of musicians forcing themselves to keep playing even as the war rages on around them. Bonney asks simply “Will there be peace in my time?” throughout this drifting ballad, knowing all too well that the answer will be in the negative” – Paste“...the songs, which mesmerise, address geopolitics and global suffering” - Prog

“While the near nine-minute ‘Killer’ may seethe with an undeniable rage and bite, it still feels coated in a warmth - offering beauty amid the despair” - Uncut

“…elegiac…” - Brooklyn Vegan

“Crime & the City Solution return with one of the albums of the year” - Louder Than War

(June 2, 2025) - On the heels of her performance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Ivor Novello’s Rising Star Award winner and Brit-nominated South London singer / songwriter Lola Young announces her headline North American tour slated for this November and December. George A. Romero's 1985 Film 'DAY OF THE DEAD' Returns to Theatres and Drive-Ins for 40th Anniversary

George A. Romero's 1985 Film

'DAY OF THE DEAD'

Returns to Theatres and Drive-Ins for 40th Anniversary

Watch the official trailer now via Bloody Disgusting!

OFFICIAL WEBSITEWATCH TRAILER HERE

George A. Romero’s 'DAY OF THE DEAD,' the apocalyptic final chapter of the ultimate zombie trilogy, returns to theatres & drive-ins for its 40th Anniversary! Since the film was first released in July 1985 and rolled out nationwide over the following months, it will be celebrating this seminal anniversary with shows across the country starting July 1, 2025, and running through October, 31st 2025 - HALLOWEEN! Find a screening near you at DAY40TH.com

The official trailer for the theatrical re-release can now be found via Bloody Disgusting at THIS LOCATION.

Whole generations of horror lovers had never had the pleasure of viewing Romero’s zombie classics on the big screen, but in November 2021, Red Band Releasing started helping book the original DAWN OF THE DEAD into venues across U.S. and Canada, eventually getting it shown in both 2-D and 3-D on over 500 screens!

Now, in 2025, Red Band is thrilled for the opportunity to help fellow George A. Romero fans celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the original 'DAY OF THE DEAD' by seeing it as the legendary director intended - ON THE BIG SCREEN!

To find a screening near you check Red Band Releasing’s Blog at DAY40TH.COM for a list of dates and theatres that will be updated every few days starting in mid-June.

In addition, Red Band Releasing will be in attendance at the Living Dead Weekend at the Monroeville Mall starting Friday and will have the new 'DAY OF THE DEAD' and all the 'DAWN OF THE DEAD' posters available for purchase. The posters can be seen below:

If you don’t see a nearby screening listed at the site, we urge you to contact your local independent theatres or drive-ins and tell them you want to see 'DAY OF THE DEAD' on the big screen for it’s 40th anniversary by contacting us at RedBandReleasing@gmail.com for booking info. This grass-root campaigning for shows actually works! Last year we booked over 20 of the 100+ theatres spurred on by horror fans contacting their local venues!

DO NOT MISS this rare chance to experience the shocks of THE DARKEST DAY OF HORROR THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN - ON THE BIG SCREEN!

When first released in 1985, many horror fans weren’t ready for the bleaker, more nihilistic and grisly horrors of DAY, particularly not after the lighter, at times comedic, action/adventure of its predecessor DAWN OF THE DEAD. Some fans didn’t understands or appreciate the change of direction, but there were several who saw what George was doing under the surface, and over the years it has been re-watched, re-experienced and re-evaluated to the point where DAY OF THE DEAD is now seen by many as one of the greatest horror movies ever made!

"This is SFX maestro Tom Savini’s magnum opus...a gorehound’s wet dream with some of the most intense prolonged set-pieces of carnage ever committed to celluloid as the zombies chow down on human flesh with every bite and the ripping apart of the bodies captured in graphic detail. It has become my personal favourite of the entire franchise and just my favourite zombie movie all together."

David J. Wilson - BLOODY-DISGUSTING.COM

"DAY OF THE DEAD is an intelligent, well-written, excellently played movie, with top flight gore/horror effects, perverse humour and a provocatively bleak vision. An inventive gore-fest, and one of the best horror movies of the eighties."

Kim Newman - EMPIREONLINE.COM ★★★★★

"Romero saved his most honest and brutal view of the human race for his ending chapter. DAY OF THE DEAD is Romero’s best [zombie] entry, hands down!"

Cody Hamman - JOBLO.COM

"A fitting conclusion to a remarkably astute series, a landmark in the horror genre."

Tom Charity - Time Out Magazine TIMEOUT.COM

"I really like DAY OF THE DEAD for its unrelenting grimness. The thing that's amazing about DAY OF THE DEAD is the last reel is the best of any zombie film. The effects in the last reel are some of the best prosthetics of all time and they still stand up, they look incredible!"

Edgar Wright - Director of SHAUN OF THE DEAD (2004) and THE RUNNING MAN (2025)

It’s bleak but not hopeless, which is made all the more clear when supplemented by the dystopian imagery of the music video” [On “There’s No Future In Optimism”]May 30, 2025—Influential alternative rock band Garbage have today released their highly anticipated, critically acclaimed new album,  Let All That We Imagine Be The Light —listen/purchase here. The new album follows the release of tracks “ There’s No Future In Optimism ,” which is currently playlisted on BBC 6 Music, and “Get Out My Face AKA Bad Kitty.”Let All That We Imagine Be The Light is the follow-up to 2021’s critically acclaimed  No Gods No Masters , praised in The New York Times as a “thrumming mix of goth and orchestral pop.” Recorded at Red Razor Sounds in Los Angeles, Butch Vig’s studio Grunge Is Dead, and Shirley Manson’s bedroom, the new record was produced by the band and longtime engineer Billy Bush. The album is unmistakably Garbage and all the hallmarks and signatures for which they are known are present. Big angular guitars, precise, propulsive beats and cinematic soundscapes all lurk beneath Shirley Manson’s unmistakable voice, her lyrics bristling with attitude. This is the sound of a group at the peak of their creative powers - characteristically harnessing sonic juxtapositions and moods to create an album that thrums equally with both light and shade.Garbage consists of all four original band members, Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker and Butch Vig. Over the 30 years since their inception in 1995 they have sold over 20 million albums. Their unique sound, songwriting and electric live performances have inspired worldwide adoration, chart success and critical acclaim. They are considered one of the most influential bands of their generation.Garbage’s new album, Let All That We Imagine Be The Light is out now digitally, on pearl sunrise vinyl, neon orange vinyl, and CD. LET ALL THAT WE IMAGINE BE THE LIGHT

May 30, 2025 – Today, New York-based singer-songwriter Emily James shares a new song and video “Underdog,” from her forthcoming coming-of-age concept EP, Summer Nostalgia. "Underdog" exhibits the tensions in a relationship and the turbulence rising to the surface ("When it's hell, yeah it's hell.... I'm holding on to what could be, but would it be better?"). This song's angsty, rock production emphasizes this as a climactic moment in the arc of the EP, when emotions run high.

“I see it as a tumultuous high school relationship where immaturity and incompatibility are bubbling up,” Emily says. “The sound of ‘Underdog’ really leans into that teenage angst and the release of all the frustrations you’ve been trying to bury. This is the turning point of Summer Nostalgia.”

“Underdog” follows recent releases “Under the Influence” and “Suburbia,” which set the scene for her new EP, telling a story of adolescence and young love. It’s a story about the formative years that sometimes seem trivial, but in reality, they leave a lasting impression on the rest of our lives.

In addition to new music, Emily is excited to join Donovan Woods on his West Coast run next month in Denver, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and LA’s legendary venue, The Troubadour. Tickets are on sale now! Find the full list of dates below, and for more information, visit: https://www.emilyjames.net/

There’s no feeling quite like first love. Most will not last beyond adolescence or young adulthood, but the bittersweet sensations and coming-of-age impressions tend to stick around. In nostalgic moments, it’s all too easy to sink back into the memories of that time and parse out what you might have done differently if only you knew then what you know now. Singer-songwriter Emily James effortlessly captures this poignant rearview look on her intensely personal new EP, Summer Nostalgia, due out August 15th via Nettwerk Music Group.

Throughout her career, Emily has found ways to connect to the very essence of what makes us human. Songs like “Brooklyn” and “Cannonball” capture the euphoric feeling of adventure and new love, while “London” and “Song for Bryan” tackle the nuances of heartbreak. In last year’s double EP, The aLtErNaTeS Part 1 and 2, Emily began exploring the deep complexities of what it means to be in love and the healing journey that comes after loss. Her songwriting took on a larger life of its own as she continued to blossom into one of today’s most honest storytellers. Summer Nostalgia feels like a continuation of that growth, catapulting Emily into a world-building artist in her own right.

Emily’s inspiration for Summer Nostalgia poured out as she prepared to leave Los Angeles (where she had lived for the past seven years), to spend some time writing and recording in London. She now resides in Brooklyn, New York. “I missed the changing of seasons,” Emily says of her decision to move back to New York, where she’s originally from. “I like to be able to move around on my own. There are a lot of similarities between New York and London, and having spent time there made me even more nostalgic for New York. This EP is about reflecting on your past, growing up, and reconnecting with those roots.”

A dreamy six-track collection, Summer Nostalgia is Emily’s most intimate project yet. It moves from ruminating slow ballads to euphoric pop jams while telling a story of two people reconnecting after years of distance. “It felt like I was watching a movie,” Emily adds. “You zoom into these little vignettes, and then you'll zoom out a little bit to the present day, and then zoom back in. It felt like something I'd never done before in terms of having this interweaving timeline and flickering between present and the past, with memories coming in and out.”
