Ahead of their North American headline tour starting on September 26, elbow release their full ‘AUDIO VERTIGO ECHO elbow EP5’ across all streaming services alongside CD and 12” vinyl releases, including a limited red vinyl version.
The band’s fifth EP was written as a continuation of their fourth UK Number 1 album ‘AUDIO VERTIGO,’ released in March of last year.
‘AUDIO VERTIGO ECHO elbow EP 5’ features last year’s one-off release ‘Adriana Again’ alongside ‘Sober,’ ‘Dis-Graceland 463-465 Bury New Road’ and ‘Timber’.
Looking back lyrically while continuing to move forward musically, lead singer Guy Garvey describes the record as “finishing something for the band in lots of ways. We are having more fun in the studio than ever before. Craig’s on fire as a producer, Pete and Alex are the coolest rhythm section working and Pot’s unpredictable rhythm guitar has started working its way into such a soulful and accomplished place. The words are all stories from my past, sometimes joyful, often dark, but all of it exciting and mostly true. It feels like we’re having another go on the Waltzers after hours.”
For long term elbow fans, the subjects of the four songs offer a basket of Easter Eggs to discover.
Lead track ‘Dis-Graceland 463-465 Bury New Road’ is named in honor of the former residence of the Seldom Seen Kid , Bryan Glancy. Reminiscing about an ‘old Victorian villa with no central heating that became a modern Angkor Wat’ following Bryan’s departure via a slide into ruin and decrepitude, the track revisits a perennial Garvey theme of the dawn and references Guy’s time as a 17-year-old sofa surfer in the Manchester area. The topline melody for the track was written by Doves’ Jimi Goodwin, another long-term ally and friend of Guy and the band and is both a testament to Manchester’s musical legacy and a celebration of both youth and the joy of reflecting on past times in later life.
Echoes from the past surface in ‘Timber’ with ‘little laddie-o’, Guy’s name for son Jack, being a hand me down from his mum whilst adding to numerous songs in the elbow catalogue where “I give myself advice in a song”. The motorik rhythms of previous release ‘Adriana Again’ propel a song that mythologizes the past through half true fragments of relationships and friendships.
The album, and the album period of ‘AUDIO VERTIGO,’ which has seen elbow rediscover their widescreen musical palette and reconnect, closes in appropriate fashion with the disco stomp of ‘Sober.’ Unlike anything else in the band’s canon yet immediately identifiable as them, the track was the first thing they worked on with drummer Al Reeves yet had to be set aside for the reset until now, where the new elbow approach found the track ready to be shot through with glitter and groove and joy.
To celebrate a hugely successful two years, elbow will be returning to the US for the first time since 2020, bringing their critically acclaimed catalog across North America for a headlining tour. Starting in Washington, D.C. on September 26, the band will now be making 17 stops across the country, winding their way to the west coast and finishing at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on October 16. In 2011, they began performing and producing records together. The follow up to “American Landscapes “ entitled “ The Day The Angels Cried” is available now and coincides with a world tour.Van Wissem’s work comes from a tradition of avant-garde minimalism and lends itself well to the director’s stark cinematic works. Jarmusch has played guitar in bands on and off since the late ‘70s. Van Wissem’s compositional style involves hypnotic circular musical phrases that allow for a lot of contemplative space between the notes.Their first live performance was in Issue Project Room in Brooklyn in October 2011, where they appeared together for a Van Wissem curated concert program called “New Music for Early Instruments.” The idea for their first album, Concerning the Entrance Into Eternity (Important Records) developed from their live performance. Jarmusch has said that he considers these songs as Van Wissem’s compositions, and sees himself as someone filling in the background to Jozef ’s foreground, like the “scenic” on a film shoot, the one who paints the backdrops. “The sound of the lute is as bright as the sun, a beautiful red color and my stuff sounds sort of like the moon, more like blue, like mercury.”

Alongside today’s release, MARINA also shares the Olivia De Camps-directed official music video for the album’s luminous, anthemic new single, “I <3 YOU,” a shimmering, synth-driven anthem about love. “One of my lessons in the last few years is that love — and showing love — is not a weak thing,” she says. “Of all the superpowers we have as humans, love is our greatest one.” Watch HERE .
If 2021’s Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land was MARINA’s outward gaze at a fractured world, PRINCESS OF POWER is a fearless inward journey — a manifesto of survival, resilience, and radical self-belief. “I've accessed this new part of myself,” she explains. “It’s really a rebuilding-my-life-from-scratch type of album. Which is probably why it has an exciting energy.”
The anthemic title track sets the tone of the album, “I lived the sweet/and I lived the sour/been living life/locked up in tower/but now I’m blooming like a flower,” she sings, while on the devastatingly honest “EVERYBODY KNOWS I’M SAD,” MARINA navigates vulnerability and strength in equal measure. Standout single “BUTTERFLY” — already boasting over 20 million global streams — captures this essence perfectly with its defiant refrain: “So I’m saying goodbye, goodbye/Watch me grow from afar as I turned into a butterfly.”
PRINCESS OF POWER marks MARINA’s first release as an independent artist on her own label, Queenie Records (in partnership with BMG) — a testament to her unwavering creative autonomy since her earliest days. Speaking about her hopes for this new album, MARINA reveals, “So often, women don't think they're allowed to feel their sexuality in a way that doesn't involve how it looks for men. They feel that it's been co-opted - I would love to be able to free younger women of that, the feeling that our bodies don't quite belong to us. You can look or dress a certain way, but that doesn't mean that internally, you feel free,” she says. “And that's what I'm after.”

Today, the ethereal and magnetic folk-pop experimentalist Dora Jar returns with a moving new single and video “The Explorer”. A tide of emotion carries the song, as Dora blends her dreamy indie sensibility with gentle, oceanic acoustics and lyrics that flicker between wonder and introspection. “The Explorer” is the first new music from Dora since the February release of her single “Lucky”—an extension of the world she built with her debut album No Way To Relax When You Are On Fire. Across its 13 tracks, Dora showcases her knack for transcending boundaries, gracefully defying the music industry's desire for easy categorization with her dark pop fantasia. The album is a culmination of a series of 2024 releases from Dora, including “Behind the Curtain”, “Ragdoll”, “Timelapse”, and “She Loves Me”, all exceptional highlights from an album that spans a wide range of musical styles ranging from folk to rock to pop. Born in New York but raised in LA, the 25-year-old singer’s formative sound has already captured the attention of NPR, The New York Times, W Magazine, Billboard, Pigeons & Planes, Pitchfork and more. Dora quickly grew an audience with gentle indie rock tracks like “Multiply”, and her eclectic, playful, but mature songwriting skills led to the release of her debut EP, Digital Meadow in 2021, followed by 2022’s comfortably in pain. Over the course of 2022, she blessed fans with alluring singles “Bumblebee”, “Bump” and “Spell”, and joined Billie Eilish on her 'Happier Than Ever World Tour' in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. After selling out her first North American headline tour in 2022, Dora embarked on a national arena tour with The 1975 in 2023, playing sold-out shows at legendary venues like TD Garden in Boston and Madison Square Garden in New York City. After a 4-year break from touring and releasing music, Irish band Beoga share their innovative new album Phases, along with the playful official music video for their latest single “Tradfather.” Known for their fresh take on traditional Irish folk music, Beoga breaks new ground on their latest offering–drawing from classic Irish sounds and infusing them with modern excitement. Phases sees the band revisit their traditional roots and original sound, while continuing to explore unique takes on production and instrumentation.
With an adventurous spirit and a passion for charting the road less travelled, Beoga have shown that Irish traditional music can take new directions. That world-facing potential was proven by the popularity of their collaborations “Galway Girl” and “Nancy Mulligan” with Ed Sheeran on his all-conquering ‘÷’ album. “Galway Girl” has been streamed over 1.4 billion times on Spotify alone. The band’s appearance in Sheeran’s emotional and reflective music video “Old Phone” marks their most recent collaboration, as they played with him at his Old Phone pop up gig in Ipswich, MA. They also played alongside Sheeran, Shaboozey and Alex Warren at his Old Phone Pop Up at weekend two of Coachella.
Phases arrives at a time when Beoga feel hugely excited by the music they are making as a 5-piece band. After several years of working on their own individual musical projects, they are energized to be back as Beoga. “We keep coming back to each other,” laughs Eamon Murray of the band. “It was fantastic that we all took some time to work on other projects, but ultimately we are like homing pigeons and are drawn back to Beoga; it’s pretty special.”

Today, they also share the official music video for their latest single “Tradfather,” where they poke fun at their naysayers in a satirical reenactment of an infamous gig. Of the video, the band said, "This video was serious craic to make. We took over St. Fursa’s Community Hall in Headford, Co. Galway for the day to recreate a Beoga gig where the infamous ‘Trad police’ arrive with disapproval as their sole aim. The “Tradfather” story is a recreation of a few interactions we’ve had over the years with people who believe traditional music shouldn’t ever evolve. Any resemblance to real persons, past or present, is purely coincidental! The actors Bryan Quinn and Michele Moran absolutely nailed it with the cold, aloof presence. Wait for the dramatic u-turn. We could have made a second video with the outtakes from the final scene, they’re so funny and amazing at their craft.”
