SIGN UP FOR THE THIRD MAN VAULT PROGRAM

1985: As the last detached murmurs of post-punk slowly crest into the earliest whispers of shoegaze, standing there in a world all their own, cutting a profile both unique and incomparable is The Jesus and Mary Chain. With equal influence gleaned from The Stooges and The Shangri-Las, The Velvet Underground and The Beach Boys, the band releases the unassailable godhead album, Psychocandy.

In celebration of this recording, one of the most important and watershed albums of all time, Third Man Records is humbled to announce Psychocandy: 40th Anniversary Edition as the 65th release of their Vault quarterly subscription series.

Anchoring this set is a 2xLP version of Psychocandy cut at 45rpm. It is not hyperbole to say this might be the loudest cut…not only of this record, but of any record…you will ever hear. The high speed treatment here affords the sonics a heretofore unseen clarity in the band’s utilization of controlled feedback. And such dynamic range! A record better-suited for this treatment you will struggle to find. Crank it loud and it just does not break up. Distortion has never sounded so clear. Cut by Warren Defever at Third Man Mastering using super high definition 192khz transfers of the original 1985 mix and featuring the classic JAMC line-up of Jim Reid, William Reid, Douglas Hart and Bobby Gillespie.

Additionally, unearthed specifically for the anniversary is a crystalline live recording from St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit from 1987. Perfectly balanced with songs from Psychocandy and its equally as beautiful follow-up Darklands, two takes here (“Taste of Cindy” and “April Skies”) appeared as non-album b-sides in 1988, but the rest of the songs on this 2xLP swath are all previously unheard and absolutely mind-blowing in all the best of ways. Mixed back in the day by William Reid and Brian Young, from multitrack soundboard recordings.

The original album is packaged in a sumptuous two pocket, gatefold jacket housed in a slipcase and pressed on 180-gram psychocandy colored vinyl with the live discs on darkest black 180-gram vinyl and living in a classic double-wide spine single-pocket jacket.

And the metaphorical cherry on top, the pairing of the the absolutely savage improvisational fan favorite “Jesus Fuck” with the wildly early (and previously unreleased) demo of “Just Like Honey.” These two songs, better than any, highlight the brilliant musical chiaroscuro of the Jesus and Mary Chain, the perfect tenuous blend of light and dark, unparalleled hypnotic pop melody and bombastic overdriven feedback noise. Pressed on metallic gold vinyl, this 7-inch quintessentially captures the contrasting beauty of what makes this band so groundbreaking.

Sign up now through midnight central time July 31st only at www.thirdmanrecords.com/vault.

Kacy Hill Announces 'But Anyway, No Worries!' EP + Shares New Single "The Garden"

KACY HILL

ANNOUNCES BUT ANYWAY, NO WORRIES! EP

OUT AUGUST 27 VIA NETTWERK

SHARES NEW SINGLE “THE GARDEN”

PERFORMING AT AMERICANAFEST IN SEPTEMBER

LISTEN HERE

“A complete left-turn, it is so incredibly competent, beautiful, and fully embodied.” NPR
“Sounds like watching sunsets at a creek, with its wisps of pedal steel and twangy guitar.” - The FADER
“This genre pivot is a treat for the ears, delivering a gorgeous americana-folk soundscape.”
Ones To Watch
“The laid-back record boasts a soothing melody and sweet lyrics balanced by Hill’s airy vocals.” - UPROXX
“The falsetto is airy but still packs a punch, floating above the instrumental like a lone cloud on a sunny day.”
 - FLOOD

July 1, 2025 – Acclaimed Phoenix-born, LA-based singer-songwriter Kacy Hill has announced her forthcoming EP, But Anyway, No Worries!, out August 27 via Nettwerk. Accompanying the announcement is the new single “The Garden,” co-written with Tofer Brown (Jon Pardi, Lady Antebellum) and produced by Tommy King (HAIM, RAYE) and Paul Cartwright (Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo).

“The Garden” is an emotionally-charged meditation on heartbreak, memory, and renewal. The track weaves Hill’s crystalline vocals through a lush, organic arrangement of fingerpicked guitar, melancholic strings, and subtle atmospheric textures. Lyrically, “The Garden” explores the visceral aftermath of a breakup, using the imagery of a once-tended backyard garden now left behind as a symbol of love lost and the lingering ache of absence. Hill’s delivery is soft yet aching, rooted in restraint, evoking both quiet devastation and the slow process of emotional regrowth.

Sharing the origin of the song, Hill explains, “‘The Garden’ was written in my darkest days after a breakup, after I had moved all my belongings into storage and was living in my friend’s guest house. LA had been getting downpours of rain, and one thing I missed the most was my garden. I felt anger that the fruits and vegetables that had brought me so much joy, that I had lovingly tended to and harvested and sat with, were still in what was now his backyard, growing without me.”

But Anyway, No Worries! signals a striking evolution for Hill—melding her ethereal pop sensibilities with deeply rooted folk and Americana influences. It is an invitation into the most intimate corners of her creative soul. With echoes of Americana and country influences, the But Anyway, No Worries! EP indicates a new chapter in Hill’s artistry—one grounded more deeply in melody, storytelling, and vulnerability than ever before.

Reflecting on the full EP, Hill shares, “This project was written in LA and Nashville and in so many ways, feels like the project I’ve been trying to make for years. I’ve had so much to say and work through over the past year and felt like the best way to say it was to just write songs. Every project I’ve made before has started with production ideas, and I build songs around little production loops or ideas, but this was entirely about the words and melody. I want to make something timeless that feels deeply from me and pulls from my biggest inspirations in country and folk music.”

“The Garden” follows Hill’s two previous 2025 singles, Please Don’t Cry” and When in Rome.” Co-written by Kacy Hill, Campbell Burns (of Vacations), and John Velasquez (Zella Day, Gatlin), and co-produced by Tommy King and Hill herself, "Please Don’t Cry" exemplifies her distinctive approach to the folk and Americana landscape. With its blend of warm, earthy tones and modern sonic textures alongside Hill’s clear, expressive voice, the single continues her exploration of storytelling through an updated lens. “When in Rome,” co-written with John Vincent III, delves into the vulnerable “hoping stage” of a breakup, reflecting on the lingering desire to rewrite an ending and avoid the finality of loss. These new songs have been praised by the likes of NPR, The FADER, Pitchfork, FLOOD, Hypebeast, Ones To Watch, and more.

In September, Kacy Hill will be performing at AMERICANAFEST in Nashville. But Anyway, No Worries! is out everywhere on August 27. For more information and updates on Kacy Hill, visit

Of Monsters and Men Tune Back In with "Television Love"

OF MONSTERS AND MEN TUNE BACK IN WITH

“TELEVISION LOVE”

LISTEN HERE

Los Angeles, California (July 1, 2025) – Following five-years of quiet evolution, Icelandic indie-folk icons Of Monsters and Men break their creative silence with “Television Love.” Written and recorded in their studio in Iceland, “Television Love” is an ongoing conversation that keeps picking up where it left off; layered with time, emotion, and the kind of honesty that only comes with reflection.

Listen to “Television Love” HERE

The accompanying video echoes the song’s themes, following the band through moments that illustrate the passage of time—capturing change, stillness, and the persistence of connection.

Watch “Television Love” HERE

Speaking about the track, the band shares, “We’re so excited to share our song “Television Love.” For the past few years, we’ve been tucked away in our studio quietly making music, and it feels really good to finally let people in on what we’ve been up to.

Speaking about the music video, the band shares: “We shot the music video with director Erlendur Sveinsson. It’s centered around a conversation at a dinner table, with the band and the table moving through time and space, through chaos and calm, all while being both connected and disconnected from the surroundings.

The video was shot entirely on 35mm film during a summer night in Iceland. Because it was filmed around the solstice, we were able to stay up until the early morning without the sun ever going down. It was a strange, kind of timelessness that felt just right for Television Love.”

At its core, “Television Love” is a conversation between two people stretched across time. The song has been with us for a while and when we were working in our studio we’d visit the song at different moments in our lives. Each time it felt like we had something new to share and add to the song’s story. Life happens, things change, hopelessness turns into hope. The sonic landscape and the conversation became layered with our own history.”

Of Monsters and Men went from Reykjavík to the global stage with their breakout 2011 debut My Head Is An Animal, which propelled them from Icelandic indie darlings to international chart-toppers. The album’s breakout single “Little Talks,” a defining song for a generation, now boasts over 1 billion Spotify streams, and by 2013, they were making their U.S. TV debut on Saturday Night Live.

Amid their meteoric rise, the band released their sophomore album Beneath The Skin in 2015, which debuted in the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 and was accompanied by a surprise cameo on HBO’s huge hit series Game of Thrones. Their cinematic sound has popped up everywhere from The Hunger Games to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, while their festival appearances — Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and more — have only confirmed what fans already knew: this is a band best experienced live and in the wild.

Over a decade in, Of Monsters and Men have gone from folk-tinged newcomers to digital-era mainstays, with 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a new generation discovering that Iceland’s beauty extends beyond fjords and thermal baths.

NYC electronic post-punk band Public Circuit announce new album 'Modern Church'

NYC ELECTRONIC POST-PUNK BAND PUBLIC CIRCUIT ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM MODERN CHURCH

ARRIVING ON SEPTEMBER 12 VIA

À LA CARTE RECORDS — PRE-ORDER

CUT THEIR HAIR AND STEAL THEIR STRENGTH ON FIRST SINGLE “SAMSON” — STREAM / WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO

ANNOUNCE HEADLINE TOUR OF NORTH AMERICA AND

EUROPE — SEE ALL DATES HERE

Press photo by Nicole Miller

“If one were to create a new band by means of in-vitro fertilization using a frozen embryo donated by electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire (RIP) pollinated with genetic materials from the members of Belarusian post-punk band Molchat Doma; Parisian coldwave artist Marc Nguyen Tan a.k.a. Colder; Meat Beat Manifesto as remixed by Aphex Twin; Martin Gore via an old pair of bondage trousers from 1986’s Black Celebration tour; M83 circa Saturdays = Youth, and finally some backup DNA from various Hypnagogic pop and vaporwave artists looking

to get out of debt…”

Today, New York City electronic post-punk band Public Circuit announce their new record Modern Church: arriving on September 12 via à La Carte Records. Built up by Ethan Biamont, Sean Holloway and Nelson Fisher, the band are the pagan heretics driving their scene forward with an indomitable will to live. This news is heralded with a US and European tour announcement, as well as the first single and video of the album, the Pet Shop Boys meets The Faint stab at fragile masculinity, “Samson” — Stream / Watch the official video.

Named after the character of Abrahamic mythology known for superhuman strength and a betrayal that led to his downfall, “Samson” touches on the hubris wrapped up in masculine society. Propelling the elements of a synth-pop ballad forward with punk expression, the result is a danceable groove with striking instrumentation and vocals.

“This song was named after the religious tale of Samson the warrior, a character I always thought was so cool as a child,” shares the band’s Ethan Biamont. “What does it mean to embrace or defy the concepts of masculinity in a world so choked by patriarchal ideals for gender expression and sexuality? Samson loses his hair which is the key to his masculine strength, and I think that when you stray from the binary ideas of gender, it can feel like you need some obvious physical denotion to express that feeling. Cut me free.”

On Modern Church, NYC trio Public Circuit dismantle and reassemble post-punk with surgical precision. Gone is any pretense of retro revivalism—what remains is something sharper, darker, and entirely their own. This is a record that dances in the flicker of candlelight and fluorescent glare alike, channeling an austere pulse of angular electronic instrumentation, and raw percussive rhythms all bathed with the high-gloss ache of sophisti-pop into a sound that’s equal parts ritual and revolution.

The album is overtly religious in theme; an analogical tool to explore gender identity, the fleeting faith of society, and the illicit repercussions of unresolved trauma. Public Circuit is deeply influenced by NYC’s constant feed of noise and bustle the city delivers. Channeling these pensive emotions into explosive energy, the band commits to live up to the historical behemoth of NYC music as their sphere of influence continues to expand.

Following the release of their debut album in 2024, the band took Lamb to the road with sold-out shows across 30 states including festival performances at New Colossus, Hopscotch and MACROCK. They’ll continue to spread their gospel this coming Fall on their newly announced tour of the US and Europe. While in Berlin, they will join the lineup of 8mm Festival alongside A Place To Bury Strangers and Snapped Ankles. And in the Netherlands, they will play Left Of The Dial festival. Laura Groves Announces 'Yes' EP out August 1 via Bella Union || Shares First Single "Deep Blue"

Laura GrovesAnnounces Yes EP out August 1 via Bella UnionShares video for first single "Deep Blue"UK/EU Live Dates

Following her recent collaborative work with Richard Russell’s Everything Is Recorded project, Laura Groves today announces the release of Yes, a new 4-track EP out 1st August via Bella Union and available to pre-order here. Alongside the announcement Laura has shared alluring lead track “Deep Blue”, a song that encompasses themes of emotional intensity, passing through doors of perception and recollection; questions of trust and paranoia; knowing when to surrender and concede; tuning in to intuition like scanning through a radio. The accompanying video, which as a multi-disciplinary artist Laura created herself, is a striking video collage similar in style to her previous video work for 2023’s Radio Red album, made up of layered footage she shot and collected over the last few years. Click HERE to watch.

Commenting on “Deep Blue” Laura Groves says: “Deep Blue is a song about asking somebody to be vulnerable and reveal more of their secret world, whilst also trying to embody those things myself. There is a directness to the hard kick drum and opening lines of the song - a confrontation and then an admission of deep feelings, stirred up like a deep blue body of water by the heavily modulated Juno 106 synthesiser. My close friends Joviale and Fabiana Palladino join me on backing vocals in the chorus.”

Fiercely unique and uncompromising, her work probes human connection with rare intelligence and emotional clarity. Her most recent album was 2023’s critically acclaimed Radio Red while the past two years have seen her collaborate with Richard Russell’s Everything Is Recorded and provide keyboards and vocals in Sam Morton’s live band having performed on her album “Daffodils and Dirt.” She also presents a long-running show on NTS Radio called ‘Desire Paths.”

SISTER

PRE-ORDER / SAVE: https://frostchildren.ffm.to/sister

(July 1, 2025) - Following the announcement of their forthcoming album SISTER due September 12th via True Panther / Dirty Hit, Frost Children share the new single “Falling.” The new track delves into emotionally raw territory with the lyrics and blends that vulnerability with big pop hooks and ascending electronic production. “Falling” arrives with a music video directed by Lotus Blossom. SISTER will also include the previously shared single “CONTROL,” which blasted open the new era for the sibling duo and arrived with a video directed by Ben Turok.

Speaking about “Falling,” Frost Children share, “‘Falling’ is the double feeling of euphoric and melancholic, both of which seem to be glued together. The best part of dance is that you get to let go and leave whatever reality is in the shadows for a moment, and this song especially had that intention to feel like the euphoria was also an escape of something so real and so sad as your life falling apart in front of you, and wanting someone or something else to take that burden away and take you over.”

SISTER is saturated in the golden age of EDM and blog house music that Angel and Lulu Prost grew up listening to at home in St. Louis. The forthcoming full-length delicately weaves strains of emo, electro, and pure pop sonics while exploring close-to-home themes of co-dependence, consistency, and change through their lyricism. The third full-length is an exhilarating return to those first sounds that moved them, echoing with the reverence and refinement of two formidable artists crafting exactly what they want to hear. But it’s also a striking portrait of Frost Children’s singular creative partnership: as bandmates, as roommates, as symbiotic savants well-versed in the art of what Angel calls “twin telepathy.” Boldly revitalizing and revolutionizing a too-often-devalued subgenre, Frost Children are delivering their most forthright and full-bodied identity statement yet. As Lulu puts it: "This is so confidently what we love, and what we breathe.”

The duo cut their teeth in the New York City nightlife scene, frequently performing well before they had a full-length project out. Those shows eventually led to the organization of their Frost Fest, which was a two-night extravaganza with performances from Danny Brown, Lip Critic, Nation, MGNA Crrrta, Feardorian, and Babymorocco. As their following grew, so did their creative community – collaborating with the likes of the aforementioned Porter Robinson, Danny Brown, Fever Ray, Thrilliam Angels, Eliminate, Dorian Electra, and Jane Remover over the last few years.

Frost Children bring that energy from the stage directly into the studio during their creative process. Their debut album SPEED RUN, released in 2023, is packed with propulsive power and cheeky lyricism. That same year, the duo released Hearth Room, showcasing their musical dexterity with stripped-down and acoustic tracks written in a wholesome manner alongside their parents. SISTER melds the sensitivity and songcraft of Hearth Room with the vigor of SPEED RUN and puts forward an arrestingly personal vision for modern dance music that transcends nostalgia and trend-chasing.

For the last few months, Frost Children have been bringing their explosive live show to stages around the globe – and it’s not over yet. The duo performed at Primavera in Spain, to which Billboard stated, “Taking a punt on a random act who turn out to be your new favorite artist is one of the greatest joys of festivals, and Frost Children will have been that for many this weekend,” Governors Ball in New York City, along with DJ sets in London and Toronto, and still have performances at Summerfest in Wisconsin, Piknic Electronik in Montreal, Pop Messe in Czechia, O days in Copenhagen, OFF Festival in Poland, and a Boiler Room set with The Dare, Hudson Mohawke and Avalon Emerson in Vancouver on the horizon. Full round-up below, and tickets can be found HERE

Check out “Falling” and pre-order / save SISTER above, see upcoming live dates below, and stay tuned for more from Frost Children coming soon.

IYLA REVEALS OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR “CORSET”

DEBUT ALBUM, WEEPING ANGEL TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 8

“CORSET”

Today, critically acclaimed alt-R&B artist iyla releases the official video for her latest single, “Corset.” The visual brings her WEEPING ANGEL album artwork to life—literally. iyla served as creative director for the video, working closely with director Justin Moser, together crafting a surreal, cinematic world that mirrors the emotional tension of the track. The video features Sasha Glasser on makeup and SFX, with additional makeup by Raylene Guzmán, and standout styling by Carlos Aviles. It’s a haunting, empowering statement piece that amplifies iyla’s boldest and most personal artistic era yet.

The video arrives on the heels of iyla’s debut album announcement, WEEPING ANGEL, out August 8.Following the life-changing loss of her mother, the 13-track project channels grief into creative clarity and marks her most fearless work to date — a full-length debut shaped by pain, but defined by power.

“I’m proud of everything I’ve done, but this is different,” iyla reveals. “A lot of it is because of the grief journey I experienced after my mom died. Having your world crash down will change you. I’ve opened my eyes more. I’ve grown in myself as a woman. I always made music from my soul. I shared my blood, sweat, and tears, but I would previously wonder, ‘What will people think?’ I hope this resonates, but I feel less pressure about anybody else’s opinions. The fact I made this record in the most challenging time of my life is a pearl I’m so proud of. I’ve attained a level of confidence I didn’t have before.”

Her latest single “Corset,” was produced by longtime collaborator Kadis, capturing the emotional whiplash of a relationship that binds tight but never quite feels right. Threaded with vivid metaphors — a lover like a corset down her back, untied and peeled away — the song explores the seductive push-pull of desire, detachment, and self-preservation.

“I wrote ‘Corset’ to paint a picture of a situationship that feels more like restriction than romance… tight, binding, sultry, but ultimately suffocating,” says iyla. “As the song builds, I lure a lover back in with a siren call, only to send him away again — too clingy, too attached, and destined to be put to bed once again.”

Corset” follows a string of standout singles that have cemented iyla as one of modern R&B’s most compelling voices. From the sultry tension of “ Wild ” (named a Billboard R&B Fresh Pick), to the fiery empowerment of “ Skirt Hurt (Redemption) ,” to the hypnotic energy of “ Overboard ” (praised by  Uproxx  as “hypnotic” and “spicy”), and the no-holds-barred bounce of “ Strut ” (lauded by  Rated R&B  and  VIBE ), iyla continues to evolve — sonically, emotionally, and unapologetically. And the gut-wrenching ballad “ Blue Eyes ,” written in her mother’s honor after her passing. That loss, both soul-shattering and clarifying, became the emotional catalyst for her forthcoming album  WEEPING ANGEL , out August 8.

JONATHAN RICHMAN Unveils New Album ONLY FROZEN SKY ANYWAY

JONATHAN RICHMAN
Unveils New Album
ONLY FROZEN SKY ANYWAY
Digital Release date: July 4th

Previous Three Albums and Two EPs Now Available for Streaming

Announces Fall North American Tour JONATHAN RICHMAN

JUNE 30, 2025 [New York, NY] – Legendary balladeer JONATHAN RICHMAN will be digitally releasing his 18th studio album ONLY FROZEN SKY ANYWAY on July 4, 2025 via Blue Arrow Records (vinyl and CD will be released at a later date TBA). With his longtime drummer and percussionist Tommy Larkins and former Modern Lovers bandmate the inimitable Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) on keyboards, Richman follows in his longtime tradition of injecting his lyrical wit into indie rock in a fashion that he perfected over the decades.

Kicking off with the rhythmic “I Was Just A Piece of Frozen Sky Anyway,” the album finds Richman in his prime, traipsing through acoustic styles effortlessly from track to track. Lifting the melody and chorus from Bee Gee’s eponymous hit single, Richman creates a nostalgic narrative in “Night Fever,” where he takes on a voyeuristic look on typical a Saturday night in Europe. The infectiously propulsive “The Older Girl” sees Richman warning a younger fellow to avoid dating up (“She was a whole year older / And I looked a lot younger / I was too young to know how important those two things were). The Spanish-inflected “Se Va Pa'volver” captures the thematic thread of departures and returns that permeates the album. Richman explains, “Like many of the songs on this new record, which either existed in a vague, skeletal form or did not at all before we started recording on January 5th of '25 (and finished by January 10th), this song fits in with the theme that seems to have taken shape during that recording session. The song is about how our friends are leaving, in their dying, on an errand, only to return in another role… with another mission. How do I dare say such a thing? Oh...I don't know.”

In addition to this album of all new material, Blue Arrow will be releasing his last three albums Ishkode! Ishkode! (2016), SA! (2018) and Want To Visit My Inner House? (2021) as well as the EPs Cold Pizza & Other Hot Stuff (2022) and Yatasamaroun (2023) to streaming services for the first time ever. Previously only available via Bandcamp or for purchase at shows, the rollout of these releases finally makes them accessible to a much larger audience. Of these albums, Richman says, “Jerry Harrison, Nicole Montalbano and I produced [Want To Visit My Inner House?] as well as SA! (2018). To us, the two albums are related in the sense that Want to Visit My Inner House? suggests where SA was starting to head.”

In support of Only Frozen Sky Anyway, Richman has announced a Fall tour that kicks off October 3rd iin Boise, ID and circles the continent, hitting Calgary, Winnipeg, Minneapolis, Albany, before wrapping up at Portland, ME's SPACE Gallery.  Dates are below:

Grant-Lee Phillips Shares “She Knows Me”; 'In The Hour Of Dust' out September 5

Grant-Lee Phillips Shares “She Knows Me” In The Hour Of Dust out September 5 on Yep Roc Records Additional Tour Dates Confirmed Listen/Share: “She Knows Me”Today, acclaimed Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and painter Grant-Lee Phillips shares “She Knows Me,” the second single from In the Hour of Dust, his 12th solo album, out September 5 on Yep Roc Records.Of “She Knows Me," Phillips offers: “While it’s in third person, the song “She Knows Me” is one of the most personal. An acknowledgement of the fears and insecurities that come knocking in the late hours. And being thankful that there’s someone who knows me, better than I do myself at times.”Inspired by a painting from India discovered while wandering the Norton Simon Art Museum in Pasadena, CA, and the evocative Indian concept of ‘the hour of cow dust’--“It’s that moment of the day when the cows are led back home, they kick up the dust; that's a cue to prepare the lamps. Night is about to fall,” says Phillips. The self-produced album finds Phillips at his most introspective and poetic, channeling his visual and musical sensibilities into a striking mediation on disconnection and grace. “The mood on this album is contemplative,” says Phillips. “It’s about trying to find meaning in an age of confusion, feeling your way through the blinding dust of unreality.”Known for his cinematic lyricism and atmospheric arrangements, In the Hour of Dust spans universal and personal themes. “Bullies,” co-written with pianist Jamie Edwards–the first co-write to appear on any of Phillips’ albums–channels his experience as an outsider into a defiant anthem of resilience. Previously released single, “Closer Tonight,” reflects on uneasy feelings about this moment, while “Did You Make It Through the Night Okay” draws Phillips’ heritage as an enrolled citizen of the Muskogee (Creek) Nation, reflecting on hardship and survival.Written and recorded between his home studio in Nashville and Lucy’s Meat Market in Eagle Rock, CA, In the Hour of Dust features intimate solo recordings and collaborative sessions with longtime friends and acclaimed musicians: Jay Bellerose (drums), Jennifer Condos (bass), and Patrick Warren (keyboards). “I don’t see songs of love and songs of protest as being so far apart, really,” Phillips reflects. “It’s all about recognizing the value of connection in a disconnected time.”Since his early days as the frontman of Grant Lee Buffalo, through his role as the town troubadour on Gilmore Girls to his prolific solo career, Phillips has established himself as one of America's most consistent and compelling songwriters. His distinctive voice, poetic lyrics, and masterful musicianship have earned him a dedicated following and critical praise across multiple decades. This fall, Phillips will hit the road in support of the new album with U.S. and UK tours beginning in September in the Northeast with a November West Coast run, including just announced shows in Seattle and Portland. Tour dates in the UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Finland are on tap throughout the fall and winter. A complete list of dates is below and tickets are available here.
