BO NINGEN Share Video For "SLIDER" via NOWNESS
III Out NOW via Stolen Recordings

WATCH: "Slider" via NOWNESSWATCH: "DaDaDa"
"Fast sludge rock that will likely pound Foster The People and their ilk into the turf, Bo Ningen will leave some bruises in its wake." - LA Times
"In the tradition of Japanese acid-rock bands such as Acid Mothers Temple and Ghost, the band takes its distortion-saturated arrangements to ecstatic heights". - Chicago Tribune
"A messianic recall of T. Rex, Redd Kross, and Rush. Colossus rock." - Austin Chronicle
"if I had to describe them in five words it would be "what the hell was that?" In a good way". - Brooklyn Vegan
Bo Ningen reveal a stunning new video for "Slider", directed by Marie Schuller (Head of Fashion Film SHOWstudio). "Slider" sees Roger Robinson of King Midas Touch guesting on vocals alongside Bo Ningen's Taigen. The new album 'III' is out now via Stolen Recordings.
Video Director Marie Schuller describes her approach; "I shot them in their most natural habitat—performing live," says the German-born, London-based filmmaker. "By capturing them in such a raw way, my job was to create a surreal, unapologetic and unforgiving world around them."
'III' is a rich and accomplished album that has seen Bo Ningen evolve musically. Jehnny Beth of Savages also guests on the album and they've sung partly in English on this album for the first time. It was recorded over several months with the band able to spend more time on the production and development of the songs then ever before. 'III' illustrates Bo Ningen as a group with a singular vision, reaching for what they define as "pure music", by turns esoteric and a no holds barred sensory assault.

Interview Magazine Premieres the Music Video for DWNTWN’s “Missing You”
Self-Titled EP Out Now on Jullian Records
“DWNTWN's influences are varied: everything from Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Beach House, Crystal Castles, and The Carter Family. They put it all together with banjo, folk music, and electro-pop—and do it well.” – Interview Magazine
“Shimmery, ethereal indie/electro-pop in excelsis.” - The Guardian
“We need all the sunshine we can get right now, and DWNTWN has it in spades.” - USA Today’s Pop Candy
"...catchy melancholy pop with twinkling electronics that could be sung by thousands during a festival twilight in the near future." - RCRD LBL
“...devastatingly affecting indie-pop.” - Buzzbands LA
“We don't know much about L.A. electro-pop duo DWNTWN besides the fact that we want to hear a lot more music from them.” -- NYLON Magazine
“Easing tension with mellow and drawn-out soundscapes” – Earmilk
“Missing You,” one of the standout tracks from DWNTWN’s self-titled EP, now has amusic video and Interview Magazine was the first to premiere it.
Featuring Robert Cepeda’s rustic banjo accompanied by Jamie Leffler’s ethereal vocals and handclaps, the music video perfectly captures the feelings evoked by the emotional track. Leffler explains to Interview, “"It's a really close one to my heart, and I hope it translates well to other people who have lost someone in their lives.”
To hear “Missing You” and the rest of their critically lauded live show, DWNTWN will be performing in their home base of Los Angeles at The Satellite on May 31, and at Popshop @ The Echoplex with The Knocks and ASTR, on July 3.

Big Deal Unveils New Track, Sakura EP Out July 15
BIG DEAL
NEW EP SAKURA OUT JULY 15TH, 2014
NEW SINGLE - “ALWAYS BOYS”PREMIERES ON BROOKLYN VEGAN LISTEN HERE

Over the course of their last two albums, London duo Big Deal have been perfecting their distinctive sound – gorgeous, effortlessly infectious melodies and sun dappled hooks wrapping around the bruised vocals and broken hearted lyricism of Alice Costelloe and KC Underwood.
June Gloom , their 2013 album, pointed the way towards SoCal harmonies and bigger production, and now Sakura , their new 4-track EP, explores that avenue in more detail.
‘Talk’, from their debut album Lights Out, was originally a stark, desolate ballad but now gets a grunged up, full band makeover, setting the scene for what’s to come. The single ‘Always Boys’ sees the band deliver their biggest and boldest pop song to date, complete with a nonchalant chorus that sees Costelloe bemoaning her attraction to “boys that play guitar”. And ‘Figure It Out’ which closes the EP in fine style, we see a newly re-energized band soaring towards anthemic new heights.
As an EP in and of itself Sakura is addictive and thrillingly self-contained, but as a stopgap betweenJune Gloom and the next Big Deal record, it is tremendously exciting – a beautiful reminder that this truly unique band can really go anywhere they want the next time around.
The band will be release a Deluxe Digital version of the album June Gloom on July 22 2014.

TALKING HEADS’ STOP MAKING SENSE TO BE RELEASED
TALKING HEADS’ STOP MAKING SENSE TO BE RELEASED DIGITALLY FOR THE FIRST TIME ON PALM PICTURES JULY 15, CELEBRATING30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FILM’S RELEASE SPECIAL LIMITED THEATRICAL ENGAGEMENTBEGINS THIS SUMMER “The overwelming impression throughout Stop Making Sense is of enormous energy, of life being lived at a joyous high.”—Roger Ebert “…close to perfection.”—The New Yorker
Palm Pictures will release the Talking Heads’ acclaimed concert film
Stop Making Sense
for the first time digitally on July 15. Watch a montage from the film here. Directed by Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia) and produced by Gary Goetzman (The Silence of the Lambs, Where the Wild Things Are), Stop Making Sense was originally released in 1984 and has continued to receive critical acclaim: The New York Times raves “Mr. Demme has captured both the look and the spirit of this live performance with a daring and precision that match the group’s own” while the Los Angeles Times proclaims “[David] Byrne, drummer Chris Frantz, bassist Tina Weymouth and keyboardist Jerry Harrison seemed to be simply bursting with inspired elements to pack into Stop Making Sense” and the AV Club declares “There never has been, and in all likelihood never will be, a more glorious intersection of live music and cinema than Stop Making Sense.” A special limited theatrical engagement of the film will begin this summer, including screenings in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Of the film, Palm Pictures and Island Records founder Chris Blackwell says, “Stop Making Sense is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago. It amazes me how timeless the film and the music are. I think this is a great testament to the music of the Talking Heads and the groundbreaking cinematography of Jonathan Demme in creating this film.” Stop Making Sensewas filmed over three days at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood in 1983 while Talking Heads were on tour following the release of their album Speaking in Tongues. The documentary is noteworthy for its long camera shots, stripped down lighting, and lack of audience footage, allowing the focus to remain on the band’s intense energy and unique staging. Over the course of their career, Talking Heads established themselves as one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the 1980s. They refined a sound that was equal parts art-funk, polyrhythmic worldbeats, and melodic guitar pop on their acclaimed albums including Talking Heads: 77(1977), Fear of Music (1979), Speaking in Tongues (1983), Little Creatures (1985) True Stories (1986) and Naked (1988).
Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme is known for his films including Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, and Rachel Getting Married as well as his three documentary/concert films about Neil Young. Producer Gary Goetzman’s credits include Where The Wild Things Are, Mamma Mia!, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, That Thing You Do!, The Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia.

"...crashing drums, louche vocals, and an evil earworm riff made from curdled surf guitar."-

Yann Tiersen shares music video featuring Andy Dick
YANN TIERSEN
'A MIDSUMMER EVENING' VIDEO PREMIERES ON AV CLUB
NEW ALBUM - ∞ (INFINITY) - OUT NOW
US TOUR STARTS NEXT WEEK!
Yann Tiersen's new album ∞ (Infinity) , is out now and you can watch the video for "A Midsummer Evening" here.
Directed by Marcus Herring, whose previous videos have included Sebastien Tellier and Kavinsky, the video stars Andy Dick as an average everyday guy dealing with the end of the world, "I wanted to explore the humor in this situation... even though it's the the last day on Earth, it's just another mundane bad day for this character"
"A Midsummer Evening," which was recently remixed by Mogwai, is taken from the new album, ∞ (Infinity), which premiered last week during a sold out show at London's ICA as well as a unique performance streamed live from Ushant Island, Brittany (France) - available to watch here.
∞ (Infinity) was conceived in Iceland, where work began on the album, and in Ushant Island, Brittany (France). The album was produced by Yann Tiersen and mixed by Gareth Jones with Yann Tiersen and Daniel Miller.
Layering of textures formed thematic threads that bind the album: the stones, the minerals, their infinite nature. Language too is integral to this album. 'Ar Maen Bihan', a story written byEmilie Quinquis in the Breton language, was translated by amiina to Icelandic ('Steinn'). Elsewhere on the album Aidan Moffat (Arab Strap) and Ólavur Jákupsson (a member of Tiersen's live band) both contributed tracks on the same theme - stones - Moffat's in English and Jákupsson's in Faroese.
Hailing from Brittany, Yann Tiersen is one of the most revered artists of his generation with a reputation first established by his studio albums (which included 1997 Cascade Street 1998's The Lighthouse andto 2005's Les Retrouvailles ). The early albums were combined and used for the Amelie soundtrack (2001), earning him global recognition. Recent albums on Mute, Dust Lane (2010) and Skyline (2011) have seen his prominence build, along with projects such as the recent live score to the Fantômasseries which he curated at the Théâtre de Châtelet with guests Tim Hecker, James Blackshaw, Loney Dear and Amiina.
Yann Tiersen is touring throughout 2014 with a newly announced Fun Fun Fun Fest performance in November, full details below:
