In The Valley Below will be releasing their full-length debut The Belt on August 26 via Caroline/Capitol Records. Written, recorded and produced entirely by In The Valley Below's Angela Gail and Jeffrey Jacob, The Belt is quintessential independence at it's core. The Belt is David Lynch-esque sensuality draped in BoHo chic. "Peaches," the magnetic first single, is currently sitting atop Sirius/XMU's chart at #1 creating quite the buzz around the Los Angeles duo's impending debut.
LISTEN/WATCH: "Peaches" (YouTube | Spotify | SoundCloud)
"At their best musically, they're something like Buckingham and Nicks filtered through Collins and Bush (that's, uh, Phil and Kate) but steeped in softened astral aspirations." - LA WEEKLY
"…pure West Coast perfection that posits Angela Gail and Jeffrey Jacob as a latterday Buckingham-Nicks, if they were into brooding electronic pop and dressing as moody Pioneers." - THE GUARDIAN
For those entirely new to In The Valley Below, their biggest inspirations across The Belt are, in the words of In The Valley Below's Angela Gail, "sex, crime, religion and how that fits into the lives we've chosen, our dreams and struggles, mistakes and heartbreaks." The band's live show is soaked in the conflict between sensuality and being boldly aloof. The energy is captivating because the band's power, specifically the dual lead vocals between Gail and Jeffrey Jacob, is unequivocally unique to In The Valley Below. Understanding this, within their non-traditional pop aesthetic, is an added bonus once you dive into The Belt.
The Belt will be released on August 26 via Caroline/Capitol Records. Pre-order The Belt via iTunes ( HERE ).

Beach Day's Native Echoes out August 19 on Kanine Records
Beach Day's Native Echoes out August 19 on Kanine Records
Stream "Don't Call Me On The Phone" at SPIN
Summer Tour Dates Announced
"The inclusion of Ronettes-inspired harmonies, a sweltering organ line, and a frenetic punk pacing à la the Black Lips infuses the tune with a truly distinct air of youthful rebelliousness and manic playfulness." - Consequence Of Sound
"ragged riffs with swoon-worthy vocals that would make Joey Ramone weak in the knees." -Spin "We love a fun song about going to the beach. Now there is a whole band about it." - Foam Magazine
Listen: "Don't Call Me On The Phone" via SPIN or YouTube
Listen: "All My Friends Were Punks" via Consequence of Sound or Youtube
Drenched in a deep sense of nostalgia, the power-pop anthem pays homage to the band's hazy teen years of searching for identity in the tumultuous Florida punk scene."
Beach Day - the name's more about attitude than genre. It's about the ease and breeze of their modern wall of sound. Their tall, bright merge of garage rock, surf pop and girl group sounds is inspired by nostalgia but powered by fresh verve, sitting pretty alongside contemporaries like Cults, Tennis, La Luz, Those Darlins and Dum Dum Girls. And while their native Florida may be in a state of perma-vacation, Beach Day isn't.
On Native Echoes, they've become greater than the sum of their throwback influences. After a year of touring in anticipation and support for their debut, Trip Trap Attack, Beach Day headed to Detroit - mecca for both garage rock and the girl group sound - and into the studio of Jim Diamond (the Sonics, the Dirtbombs, the White Stripes). Venturing far north in the dead of winter with nothing but their jean jackets resulted in all studio time and zero sunny distractions. Guided by the experienced hand of Jim Diamond, Beach Day dropped the bits of Northern Soul that appeared on their debut and replaced it with feedback, foot stomps, and an electric 12-string guitar run through an Allen Gyrophonic speaker to make it sound like a synth. And so, Native Echoes emerges packing more modern grit. Just listen to hot-revvers like "All My Friends Were Punks" and "I'm Just Messing Around." With more instrumental sophistication and all-tape recording, the album features more atmosphere and patina to deepen its new octane.
However, Beach Day's signature features remain, including Drake's huge, young Ronnie Spector-ish voice. And though she assures there aren't actually any love songs on the record, Beach Day's romanticism is still, thankfully, in bloom ("BFFs," "Don't Call Me on the Phone"). It's a record about friendships: the rebellious ones, the lost ones, and the ones that betray. It's those friendships that are being romanticized on Native Echoes. And of course there's still their famous Florida terroir as featured prominently in "Gnarly Waves" and "How Do You Sleep at Night," whose ocean sounds were recorded in the middle of the night at Drake's favorite hometown beach: Hollywood Beach. After dusting the Beach Day sound with some Detroit mystique, there's just more under the hood this time. An analog sound with Beach Day's hue? This could be classic.
Beach Day is: Kimmy Drake (vocals, guitar), Skyler Black (drums), with addition of a bassist for the live shows.
Upcoming Beach Day Shows:
06.17 - Jacksonville, FL @ Underbelly
06.19 - Toronto, ON @ NXNE - Wrongbar
06.21 - Toronto, ON @ NXNE - Gap Day Party 08.11 - Houston, TX @ Mango's

BORIS album 'Noise' out today, Boiler Room live stream w/ Merzbow
BORIS album Noise available today,BoilerRoom.TV live stream with Merzbow June 24th
U.S. tour dates (including FYF Fest) start in July Listen to Noise HERE.
"Boris excel at playing around with magnitudes, and on their new LP Noise, all of the panoramas the band has crafted over the past two decades have coalesced into one massive, smoldering landscape."
-- Pitchfork
Japanese trio BORIS' latest album Noise is available in stores and online today. A deluxe version of the album is available digitally with 6 bonus live tracks of BORIS greats. Available at digital retailHERE. The band also announces an upcoming special performance with occasional collaboratorMerzbow that will live stream on June 24th via BoilerRoom.tv. The special show will be available HERE.
BORIS recently added new North American tour dates, including FYF Fest in Los Angeles in late August. Please see complete dates below.
The trio debuted the first album track "Quicksilver" previously via Pitchfork, which is available HERE . (Direct Soundcloud link HERE.) Stereogum recently premiered the video for "Vanilla" which is available to watch/share HERE .
BORIS has always demolished expectations of what a band can do musically and aesthetically. In keeping with that tradition, they again flip the script by serving up their most all-encompassing effort to date. Noise is an amplification of BORIS' endless pursuit of musical extremes while moving aggressive, intense rock into new territories.
In writing Noise, BORIS was intent upon condensing all that the band had explored over the years, in order to create something more bold, streamlined and powerful. And, upon completion, the band considers Noise its most defining effort, stating, "If we had to suggest just one album for those unfamiliar with BORIS' music, we will pick this for sure." That's a bold statement from a band having released over 20 albums covering a vast array of sounds. Yet somehow throughout the album's 8 song, 58 minute duration, the band masterfully intermingles sludge-rock, blistering crust punk, shimmering shoegaze, epic thunderous doom, psychedelic melodies and just about everything else they've ever done.
Over the course of BORIS' three previous Sargent House albums (Heavy Rocks, Attention Pleaseand New Album) the band sought to expand its musical vision ever further. And, the results helped redefine the band's already iconoclastic sound. However, in early 2013 they decided to return to their classic trio lineup moving forward: drummer/vocalist Atsuo, guitarist/vocalist Wata and bassist/guitarist/vocalist Takeshi. Having been able to explore many new ideas as a quartet in recent years, the band was concerned about logistics, until their very successful residency shows and tour in the U.S. convinced them that BORIS could return to the simpler, solid trio without sacrificing artistic growth. Now, having rebuilt the classic trio's "equilateral triangle" they're heavier, louder, more confident and incisive than ever before.
Noise will be available everywhere (excluding Japan) on LP, CD and download via Sargent House on June 17th, 2014.

Porter Robinson Stars In The Brand New "Lionhearted" Video
PORTER ROBINSON "LIONHEARTED"NEW SINGLE OUT TODAYBuy it on iTunes
WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO (STARRING PORTER ROBINSON)http://youtu.be/hgKDu5pp_fU

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR BEGINS AUGUST 28THWITH SUPPORT FROM GIRAFFAGE AND LEMAITREPorter Robinson makes his acting debut in the new video for "Lionhearted"; the third single off his forthcoming debut album "Worlds". Setting forth on a fantastical and vandalous rampage, Porter leads a disruptive gang of Harajuku girls through the night, and in the wake of their destruction beautiful chaos ensues.
Directed by Jodeb (who previously worked with Porter on his "Language" music video), "Lionhearted" is brought further to life with colorful authenticity by Harajuku-based stylist Elleanor Yamaguchi a.k.a. Elleanor Tokyo (who also stars in the video).
The new single (out today) is a driving alt-electronic anthem that features surging vocals from Swedish indie outfit Urban Cone as it pushes-and-pulls between ambient sighs and power chords, calling to mind an imaginary battle that is now realized in its stunning new video.
"Lionhearted" is the third single from Porter Robinson's debut album "Worlds," out August 12th on Astralwerks. It follows #1 HypeM single "Sad Machine" (a duet between Porter and a vocaloid robot), and the dazzling lead single "Sea of Voices". All three singles are available for instant download as part of the "Worlds" album pre-order now live at http://smarturl.it/WORLDSVinylCD.
Following "Worlds" release, Porter will head out on a massive North American headline tour that will see him playing live for the first time; manipulating multi-tracks, triggering samples, playing midi keys and using controllers to create a live show. Lemaitre and Giraffage will provide support on the upcoming tour.

Phantogram Announces Fall Headline Tour
PHANTOGRAM ANNOUNCES FALL HEADLINE TOUR
NAMED VEVO LIFT ARTIST FOR JUNE 2014
NEW “BLACK OUT DAYS” REMIX BY THE RANGE
NEW YORK, NY (June 17, 2014) – One of 2014’s most buzzed about and celebrated acts,PHANTOGRAM, announces U.S. headline tour this fall.
Hot on the heels of a sold-out show at NYC’s Terminal 5, performances at Lollapalooza, Latitude (UK), and Splendour in the Grass (Australia); and appearances at a host of other Summer festivals around the globe, PHANTOGRAM - currently on the road through June - will kick off a headlining tour in September (full schedule below). The tour will include appearances at Austin’s ACL Festival and a follow-up headlining New York City show with rising hip-hop gourmand Action Bronson at Pier 97. Starting today, June 17, PHANTOGRAM is offering a ticket presale for select dates, with limited availability merch packages. General tickets will then be available on June 20. For full ticket info visit www.phantogram.com.
It’s been a breakthrough year for PHANTOGRAM’S universally applauded duo, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter. Their latest full-length release, VOICES [Republic Records], achieved unanimous critical acclaim, with the Associated Press hailing it “an epochal album, a generational capstone that will reside in playlists for a generation to come,” and SPIN naming it one of the “50 Best Albums Of 2014”. The album made an impressive #1 debut on iTunes’ Alternative Chart and #5 on iTunes’ Top Album Chart. VOICES also yielded the multi-format anthem “Fall In Love,” which landed in the Top 5 at Alternative Radio and Top 25 at AAA. Moreover, it’s become the #4 “Most-Shazamed Rock and Indie Song of 2014”.
Vevo has chosen PHANTOGRAM as its LIFT artists for June 2014, joining previous picks including LORDE. As part of LIFT, Vevo spotlights a breaking artist and features a piece of exclusive content across its expansive platform daily for the entire month. Fans will experience everything from exclusive live performances, to a fan Q&A, an interview about their genesis, and so much more. Most recently, the world’s leading all-premium music video and entertainment platform premiered an exhilarating live performance video of their new single “Black Out Days,” which is set to impact radio this month. Remixes of the fan-favorite have already begun pouring in, including a patient, radically reimagined remix of the track by alt-electronic artist and occasional tour-mate, The Range. (Listen here:https://soundcloud.com/phantogram/black-out-days-the-range-remix)
Remixed or not, PHANTOGRAM’S nocturnal concoction of indie, alternative, cinematic hip-hop production, and noir electronica continues to engage and entrance. In addition to press attention, other noted musicians keep singing the pair’s praises, most recently when hip-hop legend Nas named “Fall In Love” one of his “3 Records” on BBC Radio 1’s Real Benji B show.
Earlier this year, PHANTOGRAM was a must-see act at SXSW. Footage from their Guitar Center Sessions SXSW set, featuring “Fall In Love” which premiered on ELLE.com and“Black Out Days” that premiered with USAToday.com, provides a glimpse of the band’s fantastic live show.

Buddy announces new abum Last Call For The Quiet Life
Buddy Announces New Album Last Call For The Quiet Life Out August 19Download "Weak Currents" at Boing BoingSummer Tour Dates Announced
Download: "Weak Currents" via Boing Boing or SoundCloud
Los Angeles-based band Buddy is excited to announce the release of Last Call For The Quiet Lifeout August 19 which is available now for pre-order on iTunes. Boing Boing has premiered the album's lead track "Weak Currents" which is also available to stream and share via SoundCloud. Boing Boing said, "It's his best work...The sound is lush where his previous work was spare, and it features lots of lovely vocal harmonies." Buddy is currently on tour supporting Ben Ottewell of Gomez. The tour will make stops in major markets such as Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Atlanta and more. All upcoming shows are listed below. Having been locked away writing and recording their upcoming album, the band is eagerly anticipating playing both old and new songs at the upcoming shows. Buddy is a Portland-born musician who relocated to Los Angeles in 2002, the band evolved from an acoustic project to a full-fledged rock outfit. It was an aesthetic that the group, which came together in 2006 when Buddy was asked to open for Tommy Stinson but couldn't play guitar with a broken arm and needed a backing band, honed during their live shows on stages around LA and on tour across the country for several years. When Buddy began writing material for a second full-length the musical goals felt fuzzy, the lines between acoustic singer-songwriter and rock band blurred. Buddy and his band recorded an entire new album in 2009 and, after touring with Gomez in 2010, determined to scrap it.
Buddy spent the next year feeling lost, uncertain how to proceed with the band, unsure of where to take the music. He was searching for a new beginning, one that felt organic to him as a musician. It turned out that collaboration was the key to hitting the restart button. Five tracks from the unreleased album did eventually emerge in 2012 as the Campfire EP, but Buddy needed a new inspiration for his second album. In 2012, Buddy and Will Golden started writing and recording together in Los Angeles. It was a harmonious partnership, with Will leading the charge on much of the album's production. The songs were bigger and fuller, propelled by more electronic elements than Buddy had previously employed.
The album itself, Last Call For The Quiet Life, reflects Buddy's struggle and reconciliation with himself over the past few years. For him, the songs are a sort of confessional therapy, a place to channel the issues and ideas that plague his mind. One song, "Anchor," even began as a poem Buddy had written, which was a new method of songwriting for him. The album's title is derived from a line in the album's first track, embodying the idea that you never know how long the window of opportunity will be open. The music itself embraces a more up-tempo rock vibe that reflects Buddy's live performance, each instrument layering together to create a buoyant but introspective indie pop vibe.
Last Call For The Quiet Life features several guest musicians including Michelle Branch, Cary Brothers and Holly Conlan, who lend their voices to the soaring melodies. The duo finished recording the album in early 2013 and went to Seattle in February and March to mix the record with Phil Ek at Avast Studios. The album was mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound in March 2013 in New York City. The final album is a strikingly evocative collection of songs that represents the musicians who made it. From shimmering opener "Weak Currents" to sparsely wrought closer "Scrap Metal," Last Call For The Quiet Life contains the ups and downs of existence and relationships and family, and the highs and lows of finding yourself in your own life. Each note resonates with its own emotion, creating an overall narrative of what it means to find the right beginning. Or, to let it find us.
"When you start something you don't know where it's going to go," Buddy says. "The whole record felt like solid footing right away. It wasn't anguished over. We just did what we both do. I needed to feel scared and not know where it was going. I had to learn to just let it happen and let it keep unfolding. When you do that, suddenly you have these songs and they all go together."
