Following the announcement of her upcoming North American tours this spring with both Jake Buggand Clean Bandit, Nina Nesbitt unveiled the official video for her incredible, self-penned and produced pop gem “Somebody Special” today.

Written in Nashville “Somebody Special” premiered earlier this month as a World First on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 radio show, and is a love song with a twist. “’Somebody Special’ is about when you’ve been feeling a bit low and then you meet this person who changes everything,” explains Nina .  “It’s about those first few months where everything you do together feels so exciting. You could be sitting in a dive bar drinking cheap cider, driving about in a broken down car, or sitting at home in your tracksuit, but you somehow feel like you’re having the best time because the feeling of falling in love sugar coats everything.” The Scottish artist also co-created the concept for the video and added her own further twist on the lyrics. “I think everyone wants to feel good about themselves”, Nina explains “but when you’re with somebody that is emotionally abusive it can really wear you down, so I wanted to show that moment where she realizes that she deserves more and finally takes control of the situation”.

“Somebody Special” follows two incredible releases from Nina in 2017; " The Best You Had"  and " The Moments I’m Missing,"  all demonstrating her undeniable knack for modernist pop and R&B which she blends with her own confessional song-writing. Fans include Chloë Grace Moretz and Taylor Swift, who included ‘The Best You Had’ on her “Favorite Songs Playlist” on her Apple Music. Currently, these two tracks alone count for over 30 million of her 90 million streams to date, and that number continues to grow week by week and on a global scale.

Having grown-up in a small village just outside EdinburghNina Nesbitt has found a way to make it work for her in an industry that often doesn’t give you the time to settle into the artist you want to be. Rather than rush into making another album for the sake of it, she waited for the inspiration to strike and let it slowly take shape organically. What she excels at is being an artist, but one that's fully in control – the very best kind. Nina’s new album will be released in Summer 2018.

Late October Nina made a welcomed visit to Los Angeles and New York City where she played sold out shows in both cities.

Nina Nesbitt will be returning to North American shores this Spring supporting both Jake Bugg andClean Bandit. She is also set to make appearances at this years SXSW Festival in March. For tickets and more information, go to:  www.ninanesbittmusic.com

Middle Kids Announce Debut LP 'Lost Friends', Share "Mistake"

MIDDLE KIDS ANNOUNCE DEBUT LPLOST FRIENDS TO BE RELEASEDMAY 4, 2018 ON DOMINO
SHARE FIRST TRACKWITH VIDEO "MISTAKE"
ANNOUNCE 2018 U.S. TOUR DATES INCLUDING GOVERNORS BALL & FIRELFLY MUSIC FESTIVAL
PHOTO CREDIT: MACLAY HERIOTAustralian trio Middle Kids announce their eagerly-awaited debut album, Lost Friends, out May 4, 2018 on Domino.
On Lost Friends, Hannah Joy, Harry Day and Tim Fitz bring back their knack for haunting hooks, lyrical poignancy and irresistible indie rock appeal that critics praised in their self-titled first EP, released in March 2016. This radiant collection of new songs conjures melodic nostalgia for some of songwriting's very best, rich in heartfelt build and beautiful simplicity. Take new song "Mistake" as evidence – the first single from the album, released today and available to stream / buy via all digital retailers.

Middle Kids made a powerful debut last year with the release of their internationally acclaimed self-titled EP, featuring hit singles “Edge of Town” and “Your Love." The band dazzled at several SXSW showcases, sold-out Baby’s All Right in New York City, performed sessions for KCRWKEXP and Sirius XMU and made their television debut on Conan. In addition to their headlining successes, Middle Kids supported legendary acts like Ryan Adams and The War On Drugs. They’ll kick off an extensive U.S. tour this June, including festival plays at Governors Ball in New York City and Firefly Music Festival in Dover. The full run is detailed below, with all tickets going on sale this Friday, February 2nd.
The new album, Lost Friends, is the kind of album that sucker-punches you in the gut, revealing its nuances only after repeated listens. The songs’ edges are jagged, the production clean, stray imperfections imbue warmth and a human touch. Middle Kids craft classic hooks and riffs that tangle up in your brain like taffy and choruses that linger long after the song has faded. And they’ve bonded over a greater sense of what their music should accomplish.
“In a time where a lot of division is growing, we want to be part of the conversation that unites people around certain ideals that are universal, like hope and love,” says Hannah Joy. “That’s so much a thread throughout this album: Even though things are tough, it’s worth believing in something good and in the idea that we can heal. And in some ways, I wanted the music to be beautiful and a respite from what’s going on.”
Lost Friends is available to pre-order now on limited pressing purple vinyl housed in gatefold jacket, gatefold CD w/ 6-page booklet, and digital download, via iTunes andDomino Mart.

“How does a band get this good, this quickly?” – BILLBOARD
“Heartfelt, clever ruminations at the intersection of indie rock and alt-country”– ROLLING STONE
“the sort of tracks that seem simple on the surface but reveal new flashes of brilliance with each pass, often in the form of an artfully slashing guitar riff or a passionately bellowed vocal from lead singer Hannah Joy.” – STEREOGUM
“Hannah’s voice is a little Stevie Nicksie and the jangly guitars sound like they’re lifted from an interstitial scene in Singles, but you know sometimes you hear a song and you just like it.” – NOISEYTracklisting:

COLD WAR KIDS PREMIERE THE VIDEO FOR "FREE TO BREATHE" TODAY ON VEVO

COLD WAR KIDS PREMIERE THE VIDEO FOR  "FREE TO BREATHE"  TODAY ON VEVO
Track Is From The Band's Latest Album  LA DIVINE  - Out Now On Capitol Records
Today, Cold War Kids premiere the video for their new track,  "Free To Breathe"  on Vevo.  The clip was filmed in Long Beach, California and directed by Marika Dahlin and Sam Pepke of @madebyshelly, watch it  HERE .  Tonight, fans can tune in to Vevo's Instagram to see the band discuss the making of and inspiration behind the video live at 6pm PT/9pm ET.
Says frontman Nathan Willett, "Had the pleasure of having my sister, Marika, direct this video. She chose her friend and model Brook Power to act in the video whom she had just watched go from giving birth to being Playmate of the Year a few months later.  What makes the video compelling to me is how intimately Marika shows the beauty and the isolation; the inner struggle of hustling while holding on to yourself. That raw vulnerability captures the emotion of the song perfectly."
Cold War Kids sixth studio album  LA Divine  is out now on Capitol Records. The album pays tribute to Los Angeles in all its strange glory, embodying Cold War Kids' fascination with their adopted hometown. Produced by Lars Stalfors (Health, Local Natives), it debuted in Top 10 of Billboard's Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts.
The Huffington Post  said, "The soulful lyrics and sonic reverence of [LA Divine] is overwhelmingly compelling, addictive and even mesmerizing."  Entertainment Weekly observed, "[The album features] the gospel-tinged 'No Reason to Run,' eerie 'Open to the Heavens,' and dance-ready 'Invincible.' Album closer and highlight 'Free to Breathe' strips away flourishes, relying instead on minimal, ethereal instrumentation and frontman Nathan Willett's vocals."
The bands current hit single, "So Tied Up" featuring British singer/songwriter, Bishop Briggs is hailed by  TIME  as "enticing" and noted, "This one is a fast -paced toe tapper with a stadium-sized arrangement. As far as angsty passionate themes to conflicted love affairs go, this one ticks all the right boxes."  The track was also featured on NPR's  World Café 'Best of 2017' Playlist.  Watch the official video  here  and a live acoustic performance Willett and Briggs recording "So Tied Up," backed only by violin, cello and Willett on piano  here.
Cold War Kids will perform at Aspen Mountain Gondola Plaza on February 17, and Belly Up Festival on February 18th before shows at Tempe, AZ's Innings Festival in March, followed by Hangout Fest, LaurelLive and Firefly Music Festival this summer. All dates can be found at http://www.coldwarkids.com.
Cold War Kids are Nathan WillettMatt MaustJoe PlummerMatthew Schwartz, and David Quon. Formed in 2004 in Fullerton, CA, the band has sold more than 800,000 adjusted albums, over two million singles, and racked up over 200 million streams to date.

Jonathan Wilson Unveils New Video 'Loving You'

JONATHAN WILSON UNVEILSNEW VIDEO "LOVING YOU"
CONFIRMS U.S. TOUR DATES INCLUDINGA VERY SPECIAL PERFORMANCEAT THE GRAMMY MUSEUM
NEW ALBUM RARE BIRDS(FEAT. FATHER JOHN MISTY, LUCIUS, LARAAJI, LANA DEL REY & MORE)OUT MARCH 2 ON BELLA UNION Jonathan Wilson - "Loving You" [Official Music Video] Jonathan Wilson has shared a new video for "Loving You," off the upcoming albumRare Birds, out March 2 on Bella Union. The acclaimed artist's third solo release features contributions from a versatile roster of high profile cohorts, including the legendary Laraaji, featured on today's debut. Additional guests throughout the album include Father John Misty, Lana Del Rey and Lucius. "Loving You" is the second track released from the highly anticipated full-length, following "Over The Midnight."
Jonathan says of the song, "One day, one of my musical heros Laraaji came into my studio to just experiment and record some music. I had the ditty 'Loving You' lying around, (it was a song I wrote from a feeling or inflection of a word I heard John Lennon emote in one of his songs) and I then put down a simple little drum machine beat along with the piano and vocal that you hear now. Laraaji then beautifully chanted over the song, one take ... then he played his cosmic zither, undulated gracefully with his ipad, and truly shaped the scope of the track. I then added a specific drum/cymbal treatment used throughout Rare Birds, my funky Crumar bass, Lana Del Rey, a few other things and boom that was the genesis of the new album Rare Birds, that song set the tone."
WATCH "LOVING YOU" DIRECTED BY MATTHEW DANIEL SISKIN
Wilson's upcoming release follows an eventful 2017, spent producing Father John Misty's Grammy-winning Pure Comedy as well as Karen Elson's critically acclaimedDouble Roses, and touring the globe as guitarist and vocalist for Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters. His time on the road continues, with additional international dates alongside Waters and a headline tour of the U.S. and Europe, including a very special performance at the Grammy Museum. All dates are listed below.
"Jonathan's talent - "mastery" may be more apt - places him among a rarefied class of musical auteur. You'd be hard pressed to find a comparison, or contemporary for that matter, that would do his recent work justice." - Josh Tillman (Father John Misty)

ANNOUNCE NEXT PHASE OF REISSUES CAMPAIGN

A Certain Ratio (Jez Kerr, Donald Johnson, Martin Moscrop, Denise Johnson, Tony Quigley and Liam Mullan) will embark on a UK tour in the spring, following last year’s incredible sold out hometown performance in Manchester. The tour kicks off on March 16 in Newcastle. Full details below.A Certain Ratio embraced the ethic and culture of the late seventies post-punk explosion, but sounded like nothing else around them and refused to fit in. Formed in 1978, the band had various members throughout their career and a core line-up comprised of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop and Donald Johnson.

Hailed universally as pioneers of what became known as “punk funk” thanks to the success of “Shack Up” on both sides of the Atlantic, their sound is not easily pigeon-holed and their influence can never be understated. The band introduced the avant-garde elements of funk, jazz, electronics, tape loops and technology to the pop song, wrapping it in a post punk aesthetic.

They have gone on to influence generations of musicians - from Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, Happy Mondays, Franz Ferdinand, ESG, Factory Floor and Andrew Weatherall, who will appear at the band’s sold out Hebden Bridge performance in May.

A Certain Ratio recently collaborated with the designer Ian Jackman Read to create a limited edition print and postcard set illustrating all of their album releases in the form of butterflies. The limited edition print and postcard book are available here.

For a look inside the band’s early days, watch the inspiring short film Tribeca, directed by Michael Shamberg, here.

Ministry + Burton C. Bell = "Wargasm" Video

MINISTRY + BURTON C. BELL = "WARGASM" VIDEO
LOS ANGELES, CA - (Tuesday, January 30, 2018) -- Sometime Ministry accomplice Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory) guests as a nightmarish clown on the band's just-released video for the track "Wargasm," which can be seen here: https://youtu.be/uJSrQQMbp2k  Burton provided the track's spoken word parts on the upcoming Ministry album AmeriKKKant, due out March 9 on Nuclear Blast Records.
The "Wargasm" video incorporates non-stop military combat visuals that illustrate the song's perspective, described best with the lyric, "Death, power and sex...These are the things that we do best...Which country wants it next...Not many left to molest..."
AmeriKKKant was written and produced by the band's provocateur-in-chief Al Jourgensen...nine tracks linked as one continuous piece of music....topics rooted in Jourgensen's unadulterated rage for what's happening in America today...the waning respect for the U.S. Constitution...growing acceptance of one's opinions replacing facts...the sexual abuse and disrespect of women...and the toxicity generated by the man in the White House. In addition to Burton C Bell, the album also features performances by DJ Swamp (Beck), NWA's Arabian Prince, and Lord of The Cello, plus Sin Quirin (guitar), Jason Christopher and Tony Campos (bass), Michael Rozon (engineer and drum programming), drummer Roy Mayorga, and Jourgensen on keyboards and guitar.
Jourgensen will channel P.T. Barnum when Ministry packs up the giant inflatable Trump chickens, Antifa flags, headcoverings and uniforms, along with the video screens that will project politically-imbued images to compliment the music, and head out on its North American tour that kicks off March 22.  The full itinerary is below.

Margo Price Extends 'Nowhere Fast Tour' This Spring

Margo Price Extends 'Nowhere Fast Tour' This Spring
Margo Price has extended her ‘Nowhere Fast Tour’ this Spring, supporting her acclaimed new album ‘All American Made’ (Third Man Records). The tour continues what has been a historic 12-month run for Price, who recently confirmed three headline shows at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium (two of which have already sold out), and a spot at NYC’s Governors Ball Festival in June. In addition to the Ryman dates, 9 of Price’s 2018 shows have also sold out in advance – reviewing a recent festival appearance, Rolling Stone wrote that “No one’s singing came close to matching that of Margo Price,” and that hers was the “gutsiest performance of the day.” Blackfoot Gypsies and Aaron Lee Tasjan will be joining for April support - full dates and on-sale info on her website and also below.
Watch Price and her band perform “A Little Pain” on Colbert earlier this month.‘All American Made’ landed on year-end lists from FADER, American Songwriter, and Rolling Stone - who said "No other country act, and precious few from any genre, went nearly as deep as Price did this year." The album also earned profiles with the New York TimesVice NoiseyCosmo, an interview with Terry Gross for Fresh Air, a Daily Show segment, American Songwriter cover story, and a #1 spot on the Billboard Americana chart.
Two special VIP Experiences will also be offered on Margo Price’s upcoming tour. CAN Announce New Book "All Gates Open: The Story Of CAN"; Out May 5

CAN

ANNOUNCE NEW BOOK
ALL GATES OPEN: THE STORY OF CAN
BY ROB YOUNG & IRMIN SCHMIDT
AVAILABLE MAY 5 VIA FABER & FABERFaber & Faber are proud to announce All Gates Open, the definitive story of the most influential and revered avant-garde band of the late twentieth century: Can. It consists of two books and previously unseen art and photos.

In book one, All Gates Open, Rob Young gives us the full biography of a band that emerged at the vanguard of the Krautrock scene in late sixties Cologne. Can’s studio and live performances burned an incendiary trail through the decade that followed, and left a legacy that is still reverberating today in hip hop, post-rock, ambient, and countless other genres. Rob Young’s account draws on unique interviews with all the founding members of Can, their vocalists, friends and music industry associates. And he revisits the music, which is still deliriously innovative and unclassifiable more than four decades on. All Gates Open is a portrait of a group who worked with visionary intensity and belief, outside the system and inside their own inner space.

Book two, Can Kiosk, has been assembled by Irmin Schmidt, founding member and guiding spirit of the band, as a “collage” – a technique long associated with Can’s approach to recording. There is an oral history of the band, collated by former Electronic Beats and Spex editor Max Dax, and Robert Defcon, drawing on interviews Irmin conducted with musicians who see Can as an influence. These musicians include the likes of Bobby Gillespie, Geoff Barrow, Mark E. Smith, Daniel Miller and many others, but also with artists and film-makers like Wim Wenders and John Malkovich, where Irmin reflects on more personal matters and his work with film. Extracts from Irmin’s notebooks and diaries from 2013–14 are also reproduced as a reflection on the creative process, and the memories, dreams and epiphanies it entails. Can Kiosk offers further perspectives on a band that has inspired several generations of musicians and film-makers.

Note: The limited edition of All Gates Open will be available to pre-order beginning Thursday, April 5 atwww.faber.co.uk.

Can were unique and their legacy is articulated in this two-book volume with the depth, rigor, originality and intensity associated with the band itself.

Irmin Schmidt is a composer and founding member of Can, and has scored more than one hundred soundtracks, released a dozen solo albums and written an opera, Gormenghast, based on the novels of Mervyn Peake. In 2015, he was made a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He lives in southern France.

Rob Young’s books include the acclaimed Electric Eden: Unearthing Britain’s Visionary Music, and histories of record labels Rough Trade and Warp. A former editor of The Wire magazine, he has contributed to publications including Uncut, the GuardianSight & SoundFrieze and Art Review. He lives in Oslo. CAN: WEBSITE | FACEBOOK | TWITTER

Sleigh Bells' Alexis Krauss & The Our Land Collective Release 'Our Land'

ALEXIS KRAUSS AND THE OUR LANDCOLLECTIVE RELEASE “OUR LAND”
Video to Protest Trump’s Assault on National Parks Features Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells, Karen O, Maggie Rogers, Edward Sharpe, Sunflower Bean, Josh Fox, Renan Ozturk, Hey Flash Foxy, Robbie Bond of Kids Speak For Parks, and More Today, Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells unveils an original song by Alexis Krauss and the Our Land Collective. Entitled “Our Land,” the song was recorded in response to President Trump’s assault on our National Monuments and Parks. All proceeds from the sale of the song and released merchandise (via partners Bandcamp andRevolutions Per Minute) will directly fund Utah Diné Bikéyah’s legal effort to reinstate protection for the entire Bears Ears National Monument. Utah Diné Bikéyah is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that works to preserve the culturally significant ancestral lands of indigenous communities.
The song, written by Krauss and co-produced by Krauss, Shane Stoneback(Vampire Weekend, Sleigh Bells), and Chris Vultaggio, features contributions byactivist Josh Fox, Springtime Carnivore’s Greta Morgan, and additional vocals byTunde Olaniran among others. Full credits for the song are below.
The song also features a companion video, filmed in Bears Ears, UT, which was, co-produced by Krauss and photographer/producer Chris Vultaggio, and includes notables from the music, outdoors, and activism communities, including Karen O, Maggie Rogers, Edward Sharpe, Sunflower Bean, Josh Fox, Hey Flash Foxy, Robbie Bond of Kids Speak For Parks, and more. LISTEN, WATCH and SUPPORT ‘OUR LAND’ HERE.
Says Krauss in a statement of intent:
“Inspired by my love of wild spaces and in response to President Trump’s assault on our national monuments, I wrote ‘Our Land’ as a protest song. The song led to a collaborative recording session and quickly developed into a film project, in partnership with professional photographer/producer Chris Vultaggio. Chris and I set out for Utah in efforts to expand the project and tell the story of Bears Ears and its people.
From deep canyons to towering mesas we were captivated by the overwhelming beauty of these threatened lands. However, the struggle is about more than just protecting breathtaking views, it is about respecting and conserving thousands of years of Native American history and culture. These lands are sacred not just because they are rich in archaeological heritage, but because they are a living breathing landscape actively relied upon as a source for sustaining a way of life: food harvesting, medicine gathering, grazing, wood hauling, spiritual healing, and communing with ancestry.
The current administration sees fit to trade these lands for resource extraction. Native communities are contending with yet another threat, not only to their lands but to their health, well-being, and way of life. This is but one more humiliation to bear by an already beleaguered people, sadly all too familiar with systemic abuse and institutionalized exploitation.
We’ve joined this cause to support those on the front lines of this fight and to amplify the millions of dissenting voices that are already shouting to be heard.”
