The Liminanas Release Laurent Garnier Remix 'Dimanche feat. Bertrand Belin'

THE LIMIÑANAS RELEASELAURENT GARNIER MIXED TRACK"DIMANCHE FEAT. BERTRAND BELIN"
TWISTING THE SHADOW PEOPLEOUT NOW ON BECAUSE MUSIC
French psych duo The Limiñanas have released a Laurent Garnier remix of "Dimanche" off their new album Twisting the Shadow People. Garnier is a French producer and DJ whose multi-decade-spanning career has seen him through work with Ed Bangor Records and the FNAC label, the formation of his own F Communications and worldwide recognition for his electronic music work. The Limiñanas released Twisting The Shadow People to critical acclaim last month on Because Music.
Lionel Limiñana tells of collaborating with Garnier:“We met Laurent Garnier around his festival Yeah! That he organizes every year at Lourmarin near Marseille. We were booked for the 2017 edition, and met him and got along. Laurent Garnier was curious about our work and we stayed in touch. We started writing to each other, and gently sent him our new album Shadow People. Spontaneously, he suggested to do a remix on the track “Dimanche”. And he sent us this very cool hypnotic remix of more than 6min30! Totally loyal to New Wave and Psychedelic spirit of the original, he extends the track while respecting its structure (the text is kept intact, which doesn’t happen so much with remixes) strengthening even more the power of the song and its far echo, with the saturated voice of Bertrand Belin.”

“Sounds as if they have stepped out of Quentin Tarantino’s dreams…. a 60s-saturated stunner” - Uncut
“Garagey, soundtrack-infused psych, a swirl of pounding drums, spoken French, baroque melodies” -Mojo
"The Limiñanas stick to what they know — The Velvet Underground, Serge Gainsbourg, JAMC fuzz, ’60s soundtracks — but it always sounds effortless and cool”- Brooklyn Vegan
"Few acts play so successfully with the juxtaposition of dark and light as France’s The Limiñanas...It’s a ravishing, sexy and entirely European sound, albeit one strongly influenced by American acts such as the Velvet Underground, Phil Spector and ‘60s girl groups. Add a splash of Jesus and Mary Chain, Ennio Morricone soundtracks, the Raveonettes and even early New Order, then season with vocals in French, Italian and English for a decidedly artsy approach that never feels studied or pretentious." (4 Stars)- American Songwriter

STREAM "DIMANCHE FEAT. BERTRAND BELIN"One of France’s most beloved cultural treasures, The Limiñanas are Marie (drums/vocals) and Lionel (guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals). Hailing from Perpignan, the duo straddles the boundary between psych, shoegaze, and yé-yé. With hazy, reverb-laden hooks, combined at times with noisy distortion, and fronted by effortlessly cool vocals, reminiscent of Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot, the band is at once timeless and quintessentially French.
New album Twisting the Shadow People was recorded and produced at The Brian Jonestown Massacre's Anton Newcombe's studio in Berlin.TRACKLISTING:1. Ouverture2. Le Premier Jour3. Istanbul is Sleepy4. Norway's Death By Unga Bunga announce new LP 'So Far So Good So Cool'

NORWAY’S DEATH BY UNGA BUNGA ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUMSO FAR SO GOOD SO COOL
OUT APRIL 6TH ON JANSEN RECORDS
HEAR THE NEW SINGLE “SOLDIER”
Norway’s Death By Unga Bunga make their return this spring with their fifth full-length album So Far So Good So Cool, out April 6th on Jansen Records. Since forming a decade ago, the band have been on a self-proclaimed “life-long quest to show people how NOT to suck,” and they’ve done that with a “blast of crunchy riffage” (Stereogum) here, and a dose of “uncomplicated and infectious” (NPR Music) songwriting there. Today the band release the new single “Soldier,” a follow up to last year’s 7” for album tracks “Bye Bye” and “Into The Night,” praised by Uproxx as “classic rock melodies akin to, say, Thin Lizzy, alongside fuzz overdrive that could be an early Cloud Nothings track.”
Stream “Soldier” via SoundCloud or SpotifyWatch the music video for “Into The Night” on YouTube Even though Death By Unga Bunga are still considered to be fairly young men, they’re actually celebrating their ten year anniversary as a band in 2018. Rock band, to be precise. To commemorate this, they are releasing their fifth album, So Far So Good So Cool. A title that summarizes their career- so far pretty good.
The past couple of years for Death By Unga Bunga have been prolific and exciting in particular, starting with the 2016 release of their fourth album Pineapple Pizza. Never ones to rest on their laurels, they quickly followed that critically praised album with a remastered edition of their debut LP Juvenile Jungle, and a brand new four song EP Fight to round out the year.
In 2017 they stayed busy on the road, touring all over Scandinavia, the UK, Germany and Benelux. They also made two separate trips to North America, playing gigs from coast to coast in the spring, and returning this past fall to join punk rock legends Stiff Little Fingers as supporting act on their 40th Anniversary Tour.
On the heels of these exploits, DBUB are proud to announce that their fifth album, So Far So Good So Cool, will be released on April 6th. In a break with their previous efforts, this time around the band produced the record themselves, giving it a more personal touch. Fans of the band and new converts will find the guitar riffs catchier, the solos wilder, and the songs faster, louder and funnier than ever. Death By Unga Bunga epitomize everything that’s fun and great about rock ‘n’ roll, and this new album will surely help them further along their “life-long quest to show people how NOT to suck.”

“DRINK ABOUT YOU”
Apple | iTunes | Spotify | Google Play | Tidal

Having just finished shooting season two of the critically lauded Netflix Original series GLOW, internationally acclaimed musician, actress and activist Kate Nash has announced today the release date and title of her fourth studio album, “Yesterday Was Forever,” which drops worldwide on March, 30th.
Along with her exciting album news, Kate Nash has revealed the first official track and video from her full-length, titled “Drink About You.” Listen  HERE .

Out today on all digital platforms“Drink About You is a wonderfully sugary hit of bubblegum pop powered by a rickety drum machine and twanging LA-Lo-fi guitars, with an infectious scream-along chorus that breaks into the track. Accompanied by a new video, shot in the Los Angeles National Forest and directed by Liz Nistico from Holychild, “Drink About You” points towards a bright and bold future for Kate in 2018. Watch the official video  HERE .

On the new single, Kate explains: "’Drink About You’ is about breaking up with someone and becoming obsessed with an idea of who they are, to the point you can’t think of anything else or move on. It’s an unhealthy obsession, you imagine things are better than they are and latch on to whatever you can about the relationship that could be turned to good. And you deal with the pain in an unhealthy way too.”

On working with her friend Liz Nistico from Holychild, she details: “I was in a video that Liz directed when she was living in Mexico for the Holychild song “Rotten Teeth” that I sang on. I admired Liz as a director and was so inspired by seeing a different side to her creativity. I knew I wanted her to direct a music video for me one day! We went for a home made/fd art/DIY inspired set and shot in the beautiful Los Angeles National forest."

On her forthcoming album: "Yesterday Was Forever” is an excerpt from a teenage diary. I used to be mocked for being a silly little girl writing in her diary, but these days I feel like the teenage girl is far more respected than she use to be and it’s teenage girls that have fought for that and taught people that lesson. Yesterday was forever is about your dreams being trapped in a time capsule, being caught in a moment for too long, and looking back through heart shaped glasses.”

In other news, Kate Nash has been busy shooting season two of the Liz Flahive (Homeland), Carly Mensch & Jenji Kohan (Orange is The New Black) created Netflix Original Series GLOW. Recently Nash – who plays the lovable British wrestler Rhonda “Britannica” Richardson – attended the prestigious SAG Awards in Hollywood, where the show and cast were nominated for multiple awards in this year’s ceremony. Season One of GLOW is available to watch now on Netflix.

Yesterday Was Forever” is available now to pre-order HERE

Drink About You” is available on all digital platforms from today.

More exciting news to come from Kate Nash very soon!

SUFJAN STEVENS’ “MYSTERY OF LOVE” FROM CALL ME BY YOUR NAME NOMINATED FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG AT THE 90TH ACADEMY AWARDS

SUFJAN STEVENS’ “MYSTERY OF LOVE” FROM CALL ME BY YOUR NAME NOMINATED FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG AT THE 90TH ACADEMY AWARDS

Sufjan Stevens’ “Mystery of Love” is nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Song at this year’s Academy Awards. “Mystery of Love” is one of Stevens’ three contributions to the soundtrack of Luca Guadagnino’s  Call Me By Your Name  (Sony Pictures Classics), and one of two original songs he composed for the movie. Further nominees in the category are “Mighty River” from Mudbound, “Remember Me” from Coco, “Stand Up for Something” from Marshall and “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman.

The 90th Oscars®, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

The nomination is the first for Stevens who, in the last twelve months, has released a live recording and accompanying film ( Carrie & Lowell Live ),  Planetarium —a cosmos-themed album recorded with Nico Muhly, Bryce Dessner and James McAlister,  The Greatest Gift —a mixtape featuring outtakes, remixes and demos from his 2015 masterwork  Carrie & Lowell,  and “Tonya Harding”—a double A-side single in tribute to the legendary figure skater and American icon. “Mystery of Love” was also nominated for Best Song at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards.

Call Me By Your Name, based on the André Aciman novel of the same name, is one of the most highly praised movies of the year. It is also nominated for Oscars for Best Picture and Adapted Screenplay, with an additional nomination for Timothée Chalamet for Actor in a Leading Role for his work in the film.

A singer-songwriter currently living in New York, NY, Sufjan Stevens’ preoccupation with epic concepts has motivated two state records (Michigan and Illinois), a collection of sacred and biblical songs (Seven Swans), an electronic album for the animals of the Chinese zodiac (Enjoy Your Rabbit), an expansive EP in homage to the Apocalypse (All Delighted People), a full length partly inspired by the outsider artist Royal Robertson (The Age of Adz) and two Christmas box sets (Songs for Christmas, vol. 1-5 and Silver & Gold, vol. 6-10). BAM has commissioned two works from Stevens, a programmatic tone poem for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (The BQE) and an instrumental accompaniment to slow-motion rodeo footage (Round-Up), and he has collaborated extensively with the New York City Ballet choreographer Justin Peck (Year of the Rabbit, Everywhere We Go and The Decalogue).

Los Angeles duo Girlpool, comprised of Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker, has released a new track with contributions (keyboards, guitars, backing vocals, and mixing) from Blood Orange's Dev Hynes titled "Picturesong." Of the song, the band say "picturesong is a word invented to explore what we create in each other when we want to feel deep love because of loneliness or otherwise, and brings into question the reality and delusion of the things we feel," while Dev Hynes says "i'm such a fan of Girlpool, and loved working with them. Their harmonies are some of my favourites that are out there."
Girlpool is hitting the road next week and playing shows on both coasts with The Hotelier, Land of Talk (solo), Forth Wanderers, Palberta and Special Explosion. All dates below.
