Until The Ribbon Commemorates Fan Favorite "2025" With New Video and Official Release

UNTIL THE RIBBON BREAKS COMMEMORATES POIGNANT AND PROPHETIC FAN FAVORITE “2025” – OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE ON ALL PLATFORMS TODAY
[VERO MUSIC]

ARRIVES WITH A BRAND NEW MUSIC VIDEO -  WATCH

THIRD STUDIO ALBUM
V I S I T O R - OUT NOW WATCH  |  LISTEN
“2025”

After the enormously successful 2024 return of Until The Ribbon Breaks with his critically lauded third studio album,  V I S I T O R , the acclaimed multi-medium artist, musician, and producer returns today with “2025” – a powerful and prophetic song penned by frontman Pete Lawrie Winfield over a decade ago. “2025” is out now via VERO Music.

Listen to “2025”  HERE .

The unique composition unpacks seemingly science fictional images of a world that Winfield foresaw as “filled with alienation and isolation because of technology – leaving us feeling more alone than ever before.” Although never officially released, “2025” became an instant fan favorite in concert, with an early version on YouTube, racking up more than 353K views, and garnering praise from the likes of  Pitchfork , who proclaimed “2025 is a beautiful dirgea bleak track kept barely afloat by an aching, human sadness," with  Clash  adding “The conditions explored here are as much brazen as they are refreshing and the release could not be more timely. Both musically and politically,” while  The Line Of Best Fit  praised the production work, for its “Classic and retro lyrical flourishes…placed amidst an undeniably contemporary setting.

The track’s new incarnation frames the original lyrics in a contemporary arrangement that is enhanced by Winfield’s notably confident and commanding vocal performance. “Re-recording the song was quite nice and even a bit nostalgic,” he says. “The words don’t make me feel existential dread anymore.”

In fact, Winfield notes that “2025” is more bittersweet than bleak. “There’s a part of the song where I say, ‘I think I’ll marry a stranger that I met online,’ which is exactly what I’m about to do in real life. The song seems like a doomsday prophecy, but it has an upside. We can control the narrative of technology if we want.”

Arriving with the track, a brand new music video for “2025” directed by Lawrie Winfield.

Watch the official music video for “2025”  HERE.

The release of “2025” follows the release of a limited edition vinyl edition of
V I S I T O R . This pressing of the album is available exclusively HERE.

Winfield enters the new year following a sterling 2024 for Until The Ribbon Breaks.  V I S I T O R  was the act’s first full-length collection of new songs since their eponymous 2018 opus. Working within a hauntingly compelling electronic-pop framework, Until The Ribbon Breaks’ mastermind Pete Lawrie Winfield made the album during what he has described as a period of “renewed emotional and creative clarity” resulting from his hard-won sobriety. “These songs were not originally intended to take the shape of an album. I simply started to write and record them out of a desire to recapture the joy of making music,” he says.

The project was introduced with the single “ Everything Else but Rain ,” featuring harmonies by alt-pop doyennes Lucius. It earned a global premiere on Zane Lowe’s highly influential Apple Music program, as well as winning nods from press including Rolling Stone. He released a series of singles leading up to the album, including the viral smash “ Red Skies ,” featuring rising Columbian pop artist La Pardo. The two soon reunited for a hypnotically percussive re-imagination of the song, retitled “ Cielos Rojos .”

V I S I T O R’  also offered the anthemic “ Nature Mother ,” featuring powerhouse vocalist Emoni Wilkins.“ Strange TImes ” and “ Carousel ,” the latter featuring critically acclaimed rapper, Homeboy Sandman.

The record won acclaim and support from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio Wales, and KCRW. Among the many high-profile kudos that Until The Ribbon Breaks and Winfield received was from Adam Walton of BBC Radio Wales, who proclaimed, “he’s one of the most remarkable artists that Wales has produced, sonically speaking, over the last decade and a half.” To date, the track clocks in at over 200k streams.

Rounding out the years were a pair of high-profile live gigs. First was a triumphant acoustic performance at the British Music Embassy showcase during the prestigious SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. “Playing SXSW was an incredibly special experience in a multitude of ways,” Winfield says. “Not only was it my first show in 5 years, but it was also my first show ever playing sober. For this reason, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible, strip the music down and not hide behind anything.

Finally, Until The Ribbon Breaks took to the iconic Dreamland Margate stage in Kent, England for the Margate Summer Series last summer. The event featured a performance by drum’n’bass legends Rudimental. The Margate Summer Series is part of the iconic “Soundcrash” UK concert series, bringing epic music acts to local outdoor parks. “I cannot recall ever feeling so joyful after a show,” Winfield says. “It will go down as one of the great moments of my life.

Look for Winfield to continue his creative renaissance well into 2025 with several new Until The Ribbon Breaks singles and a host of new collaborations with rising young artists.

“2025” is out now. Listen  HERE  and check out the official music video  HERE .

TWIN SHADOW TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM

GEORGIE ON MARCH 14, 2025

WILL PLAY DATES IN NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES

GEORGIE AVAILABLE THROUGH DOM RECS - PRE-ORDER

Acclaimed musician Twin Shadow will release his sixth album, Georgie, on the new indie label Dom Recs on March 14, 2025. Twin Shadow, the name under which Dominican-born American musician, director, producer, and actor George Lewis Jr. performs, was putting the finishing touches on the album when his father, George Sr., fell very ill and tragically passed away unexpectedly.

“Georgie is my most stripped-down album; at this point in my life and career, nothing matters more than my deepest, darkest, and brightest feelings. The album art features my father, George’s signature. I had him scrawl it hundreds of times in a notebook. When I was making this record, I had no idea he would pass away just a few months later. Georgie is dedicated to his memory.”

-Twin Shadow

In the past few months, Twin Shadow has released three songs and videos from Georgie, including “As Soon As You Can,” “Good Times,” and “Permanent Feeling.” Twin Shadow conceived and directed all three videos.

NEW ALBUM

THE SOUND OF GOD LAUGHING

OUT APRIL 18th, 2025

Hi-res

February 24, 2025 – Today, Los Angeles alt-pop artist Lostboycrow shares his new single, “Leslie Claret.” The track is named after Kurtwood Smith’s character in the Amazon TV series Patriot. Lostboycrow explains, “It is inspired by the idea of a redemptive character arch in someone we have either misjudged or mistaken as a hindrance or enemy before learning why they are the way they are and what we may have in common.

“Leslie Claret” is the latest single from Lostboycrow’s upcoming fourth studio album, The Sound Of God Laughing, which will be released on April 18, 2025. The record was written and recorded alongside Sam Beresford (Winnetka Bowling League) with the intention of letting go, giving into creative freedom, and fabricating new worlds within each track. He explains, “I’d love for people to step inside of these songs. The process of this last year was about getting back to the music at its core. With this album, the sound opened itself back up to experimentation. We weren’t limited by any parameters. I’m appreciating a lot of different styles and influences. It's not just one vibe. It was fun to kind of just roll up my sleeves and be a kid again.”   The Sound Of God Laughing will also feature his recent singles, including “Shake On It,” “Dark Comedy Magic,” featuring Jillian Rossi, “Dirty Dancing” featuring DYSN, and “Summer Boy.”

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Chris Blair grew up singing along to his parent’s Beatles cassette tapes and religiously watching that thing you do. It was not until high school that he picked up a mic and started performing everywhere he could, from showtunes in the gymnasium to pop-punk in a local dive. He later established his genre-fluid style with 2016’s Sigh For Me EP, which he followed up with 2017’s Traveler EP trilogy, 2019's full-length Santa Fe, and 2021’s Valleyheart, and 2022’s Indie Pop. Lostboycrow has received praise from Billboard, Nylon, Earmilk, and more and has shared the stage with peers like Flor, Echosmith, K.Flay, and VÉRITÉ. He spent the latter half of 2024 on North American tours with SwitchfootThe Strike, and Nico Vega.

His catalog has over 150 million streams.

Idle Heirs (feat. Sean Ingram of Coalesce) Premiere “Pillow Talk” Music Video

Idle Heirs Premiere "Pillow Talk" Music Video

The group— featuring Sean Ingram of Coalesce and producer Josh Barber— will release their debut album Life Is Violence on April 11th

Record release show announced for April 11th in K.C.

Idle Heirs is a band born from necessity, forged through a need to articulate previously unspoken feelings, illuminating the darkest recesses and inhabiting them wholeheartedly.

With their debut album Life Is ViolenceIdle Heirs have created a post-metal record that captures a certain vulnerability within its mournful sound. Vocalist Sean Ingram attributes this to the fact that throughout its creation, even as the songs themselves were taking shape and coming to life, the album was still not recorded with an audience in mind. Assuming that it would never be heard beyond his closest circle of friends allowed a disarming honesty to permeate the songs.

Embracing the idea that art can be an effective way of processing experiences, Ingram channeled a complex web of grief and existential thought into his lyrics. Thematically, Life Is Violence contemplates the thread of paternal influence from generation to generation and how it can be disrupted. Ingram examines the impact his father had on his life, whilst simultaneously contemplating his own mortality and what he will pass down to his children. With a determination to ensure that what he leaves behind in the future is markedly different to what he inherited himself, Idle Heirs have issued a missive that stands as both a line in the sand and a testament to love.

The album's poignant second single "Pillow Talk" arrives today.  Josh Barber comments: "This is a deeply personal song. I feel like a lot of people can relate to what is portrayed in this video. The lyrics and visuals of Pillow Talk speak for itself."

Watch / share music video for "Pillow Talk"

Stream / share "Pillow Talk" on DSP's

For over a decade, Ingram’s focus had been elsewhere; due to the prolonged hiatus of Coalesce, music was no longer at the forefront of his artistic endeavors. When events— on both a global and personal level, and specifically, where the two intersect— conspired to bring Ingram to a place where music once again became essential, the seed for Idle Heirs was planted. Rather than the conditions being right for a musical reprise, the conditions had to be all wrong, leaving only one way forward.

Having connected with musician and producer Josh Barber, Ingram already knew who his co-conspirator for this mission would be. The two friends had discussed working together on music but their earliest efforts had stalled. Describing himself as “a doer, not a dreamer”, Ingram made it clear to Barber that there was an increasing urgency to getting the project off the ground.  Barber understood how imperative this was to them both, and took dramatic measures to kickstart the creative process.

Barber sequestered himself in a remote part of the Pacific Northwest for eight days, giving himself the space and time to concentrate solely on what would become the blueprint for the debut Idle Heirs album. Shedding his self-imposed attempts to compose what others expected of him, Barber wrote with a solitary, highly focussed mindset, all the while imbibing the atmosphere of the gloomy forests and storm-battered shoreline around him.

Motivated only by a need to express what roiled inside them, the duo had no intention of the band being for public consumption. Even as the creative contributions of others weaved their way into the Idle Heirs core, the pair remained focussed only on the path they sought to follow, trusting each other implicitly and pushing each other each and every step of the way.

Life Is Violence was recorded at Ocean Sound studio in Norway— something of a bucket list adventure, given Barber’s fondness of Cult of Luna. Indulging themselves in the freedom that came with creating without restriction or expectation, the pair decamped to the icy Norwegian wilderness with five of their collaborators to lay down the eight tracks. The isolation of the studio and the absence of external pressures allowed for an unparalleled clarity and exacting level of attention to detail.

Pre-order Life Is Violence here ahead of its April 11 release date and see the band at their record release show the same day in Kansas City, MO.

“All we wanted was to be in ‘a great live band’ and to spend our lives taking our music with us around the world," says Simple Minds co-founder and frontman Jim Kerr. "Decades later we still relish that challenge every night on tour. Live In The City of Diamonds captures both the spirit and fever of Simple Minds live at this moment in time.”

Live in the City of Diamonds collects stunning concert performances of classic tracks and fan favorites from across Simple Minds’ monumental body of work thus far, including a spectacular live rendition of their much-beloved Billboard “Hot 100” #1 hit single, “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” premiering today at all DSPs and streaming services.

Last month saw Simple Minds kicking off what looks to be a milestone year with an electrifying US network late night TV performance of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (streaming HERE). Indeed, 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of one of the most significant periods in Simple Minds’ extraordinary history, a landmark moment in their legendary career which saw the worldwide chart-topping success of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” and release of their RIAA Gold-certified seventh studio album Once Upon A Time, not to mention their unforgettable set in front of 135,000 fans – and a TV audience of millions – on the American leg of 1985’s Live Aid. The occasion was further celebrated last month with the digital premiere of a special new 9-track edition of Once Upon A Time featuring the addition of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” and updated Ruby Anniversary artwork. Physical versions and other anniversary reissues will follow later in the year.

"Hindsight is a glorious thing!,” says Kerr. “40 years on and it now feels right for Simple Minds to have ‘Don't You (Forget About Me)’ included in this classy new nine track edition of Once Upon A Time."

ABOUT SIMPLE MINDS:

Inimitable musical pioneers for nearly half a century, Simple Minds are among the most successful UK bands of all time, having achieved more than 1B global streams on Spotify alone (with over 8.3M monthly listeners on Spotify alone) and total worldwide sales in excess of 60M, including six #1 albums in the UK and chart-topping releases in countless other territories including Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.

Coalescing around childhood friends Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, Simple Minds emerged in 1978 with an immediately distinctive sound simultaneously rooted in punk, art-rock, and the electronic avant-garde. Over the next four decades, the band has pushed their open-armed approach to fashion a broad array of stylistic varieties – spanning pop, funk, gospel, soul, dance music, and more – into their own world-straddling brand of stadium-sized rock. Their continually evolving body of work is highlighted by such landmark LPs as 1982’s New Gold Dream (81,82,83,84), 1984’s Sparkle In The Rain, 1985’s Once Upon A Time, and 1989’s Street Fighting Years, along with a stunning canon of iconic global hit singles spanning “Love Song,” “Someone Somewhere (In Summertime),” “Glittering Prize,” “Promised You A Miracle,” “Up On The Catwalk,” “Speed Your Love To Me,” “Waterfront,” “Belfast Child,” and of course the timeless teen anthem, 1985’s US #1 classic, “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” the latter of course famously featured in the classic John Hughes film, The Breakfast Club.

Named as the world’s “Best Live Band” by Q Magazine in 1991, Simple Minds have long commanded the stages of sold-out arenas and stadiums around the planet. Their world-class credentials have been burnished in recent years by an array of equally remarkable accomplishments – from acclaimed new albums (including 2018’s Walk Between Worlds and 2022’s Direction of the Heart, both of which had top 5 chart debuts in the UK), best-selling live albums, career retrospectives, and epic world tours to accolades and honors like a 2014 Q Inspiration Award (presented by avowed fan Manic Street Preachers’ James Dean Bradfield) to a prestigious Ivor Novello Award for “Outstanding Song Collection” – all of which serve as timely reminders to a new generation of Simple Minds’ ongoing appeal as well a springboard for their next burst of creativity. Now as ever, Simple Minds remain a band touched by powerful magic, continually willing to experiment while remaining true to their original instincts.

“The truth is we never fully wound down,’ says Charlie Burchill. “There have been lots of different incarnations of Simple Minds, but we’ve always kept our identity. A legacy can be a burden if you allow it to be. For us, it’s been empowering.”

“We’ve been on one hell of a journey,” says Kerr. “I’m grateful for the career we’ve had, but I’m mad enough to think we can still hit new levels. This is what we do – write, record and play live. One of the things I’m most proud of is that people say to me, what Simple Minds are you talking about? The avant-garde, the art-rock, the pop, the ambient, the instrumental group, the political, the folk, the stadium band? To play all those different styles but at the same time be quintessentially Simple Minds is an amazing thing.”
