Last Month, The Bug Club released “Have U Ever Been 2 Wales,” a joyous ode to their beloved home country that features upbeat, regionally referential lyrics like “Have you ever been to Wales? It’s good, it’s goo-ooh-ooh-ooh-hood” and “…every choir from Caldicot to Treorchy will sing it proud.” The spirited song, doubtless soon to be the new ad jingle for Visit Wales, is also out now worldwide (including Wales) on all DSPs from Sub Pop.

The Bug Club has seen support from the likes of NME, BBC, KEXP, Bandcamp Daily, Brooklyn Vegan, PASTE, Stereogum, see/saw, Dusted, The Stranger  Rosy Overdrive, Glide, and more. NME said of their 2024 release On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System…., “…its 11 songs crackle with incisive melodies and funny pop culture-addled lyrics – they reference The Great Escape’s Virgil Hilts one minute, and move on to the horror of Lonsdale slip on daps the next – but they’re in and out in under 26 minutes. Zero fat.”
More on The Bug Club’s Very Human Features:The Bug Club are back, again, for their annual appointment at the garage rock makers’ market, where they’re flogging yet another pedigree record.

LP number four, Very Human Features, arrives June 13th, hot on the heels of the band’s first Sub Pop release, 2024’s On the Intricate Inner Workings of the SystemThat record saw the band continue their love affair with BBC Radio 6, start up a new one with KEXP thanks to a session with them, and crop up in the pages of the NME. Anything else from the bucket list? Oh yeah, festival slots including packing home ground Green Man’s Walled Garden to its non-existent rafters. Then shows across the US in those venues us Brits tend to hear about and that’s as far as we get. This record gives the band an excuse to continue their never-ending tour and feed their baying fans, engorged and expectant thanks to this band’s relentless record-releasing hot streak, a new batch of typically playful, riff-laden, smart Bug Club Tunes.

But first, a standalone single, because that’s how things are done here. “Have you ever been to Wales?”, asks the band in “Have U Ever Been 2 Wales.” If not, why not? It’s good. A new, discordant national anthem, if they didn’t already have a decent harmonious one. Oh, to be from a country where national pride is something other than the mark of a tosser. Starting as a classic, chugging chantalong, it’s interrupted by what sounds like an alien choir before they let rip. Think Dinosaur Jr. with a job at the tourist board. And Welsh. Definitely Welsh (read more at Sub Pop).

ROB KING Interview 2025 (Radley Metzger)

Radley Metzger was one of the foremost directors of adult film in America, with credits including softcore titles like The Lickerish Quartet and the hardcore classic The Opening of Misty Beethoven. After getting his start making arthouse trailers for Janus Films, Metzger would go on to become among the most feted directors of the “porno chic” era of the 1970s, working under the pseudonym Henry Paris. In the process, he produced a body of work that exposed the porous boundaries separating art cinema from adult film, softcore from hardcore, and good taste from bad.Rob King is a professor of film and media studies at Columbia University’s School of the Arts. He is the author of Hokum! The Early Sound Slapstick Short and Depression-Era Mass Culture (2017) and The Fun Factory: The Keystone Film Company and the Emergence of Mass Culture (2009). #TPII50Book: https://cup.columbia.edu/book/man-of-...Readings: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/celebrat...Misty Beethoven March 25th: https://www.lightindustry.org/radley

DESIRE shares new video "Games People Play" & release new album today via Italians Do It Better.

DESIRE- Share new video "Games People Play"
- Album 'Games People Play' out today via Italians Do It Better

Today Desire, the project of Megan Louise & Johnny Jewel, release their third studio album ' Games People Play ' via Italians Do It Better and are sharing a video for the album title-track.

"Games People Play" video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCMu-ROTdFc

Games People Play is an eclectic labyrinth of love, power, & deception where every move counts. The 21 track album unfolds like a game of chess—Desire as the queen, fate as the dealer, & love as the ultimate wager. Set against Johnny Jewel's signature cinematic curtain, the record guides players through a shadowy dance floor where strategy & surrender blur. In this world of passion, the line between predator & prey is razor-thin, & every lover is a contender on heartbreak's edge. Checkmate is inevitable—but who will make the final move?

On the record, Desire said "Games People Play is a conceptual double album with two records inside one. It's half Dancefloor Pop & half Film Noir. 21 songs recorded in the Key of Love. On the boulevard of broken dreams...She dares to roll the dice one more time..."

Tom Misch returns with new single - "Old Man" out today + video

TOM MISCH RETURNS WITH NEW MUSIC“OLD MAN” OUT TODAY, ALONGSIDE VIDEOPhotographer credit: Frankie MarkotMarch 21, 2025—From its opening notes, Tom Misch’s new single “Old Man” signals a shift in sound and perspective. “Old Man” is a deeply personal, tender song that touches on aging, family and the strangeness of time. Written alongside Matt Maltese in Misch’s parents’ shed before heading to Nashville to record and produce it with Ian Fitchuck. “Old Man” is out now on Beyond The Groove / AWAL. Listen / share HERE.  On the creative process, Misch offers: “Recently I’ve really wanted to create songs that work well stripped back in a classic sense…‘Old Man’ is a good example of that and one of my favourite songs I’ve ever made. It touches on a lot of things I’ve been going through recently yet I feel it will be just as relevant playing it in 40 years from now....”“Old Man” sees Misch’s voice unadorned, his sound analogue and classic. But the real masterstroke is its lyrical universality, the listener can easily step into Misch’s shoes or find their own path within it. The accompanying video directed by Saddiq Abubakar shows different snapshots of the father/son relationship before ending in a poignant moment as Misch performs to an audience of one; his father Peter Misch. Watch HERE.During the time between releasing his breakthrough debut album Geography and finishing his new solo material, there have been a few side projects (most notably his Ivor Novello nominated collaborative project with drummer Yussef Dayes, What Kinda Music) as well as some time away from music to explore other things. Working on new music hasn’t been easy, there have been moments of anxiety and profound existential angst, but Misch has fought hard to find beauty within darkness and his new music is a testament to this journey and an unshakable expression. As a way of dipping his toes back into solo music, Misch released his Six Songs EP last year, featuring the singles “Insecure” and “Cinnamon Curls.” These, as well as “Old Man,” have been written on guitar and voice, where previously he would have drawn inspiration from a beat or production bed. “Old Man” indicates a further evolution of both Tom Misch the artist and the person, a magnetic, comfortable culmination of his ability and instincts. More to come.  INSTAGRAM | SOUNDCLOUD | TWITTER

NEW SONG AVAILABLE & FILM IN THEATERS EVERYWHERE MARCH 28

Six-time GRAMMY-winning multi-hyphenate St. Vincent has teamed up with A24 Music for the release of new song “DOA.” Written, recorded and performed entirely by St. Vincent, and mixed by Cian Riordan, exclusively for the A24 feature DEATH OF A UNICORN, “DOA” will be available across digital platforms simultaneously with the film’s March 28 theatrical release.

The sweetly sinister pulsations and infectious guitar figures of “DOA” distinguish the song as yet another early 2025 highlight for St. Vincent. Hot on the heels of their massive North American tour with Foster The People, rising British duo, Good Neighbours are back today with a brand-new track “Starry Eyed,” written by the duo in Los Angeles this past January. Road testing the song while on tour, Scott and Oli immediately saw a response – both in the rooms and on social media. Following the insane fan-demand, and gathering online traction for the song, Good Neighbours have responded in kind. “Starry Eyed” is available on all streaming platforms today.

Listen to “Starry Eyed”  HERE . Watch the Lyric Video  HERE .

Speaking about the track, Good Neighbours reveal, “We wrote Starry Eyed very off the cuff while we were stuck in LA. It’s about that star struck feeling that someone gives you the first time you meet them. There’s a vulnerability in that encounter that’s both scary and exciting, and we tried to capture the thrill that comes with it.

We trialed playing it live on our recent tour with Foster The People, and it felt like something clicked. After fans were calling out for it to be played, it felt only right to put it out for everyone to hear with the same spontaneity and energy that the song was created in.”

The release of new music couldn’t be timelier, following the recent announcement of the band’s Adolescence Tour, which officially kicks off in the UK April 2 through April 13, before returning to the U.S. on April 20 in Madison, WI. The band will wind its way through the Midwest and South with dates in Urbana, ILOklahoma City, OK,; Fayetteville, ARNashville, TN; before concluding in Orlando, FL on May 2.

Speaking about the new tour, Good Neighbours, reveal, “There’s been a lot of bigggg mad moments in the last year, but as two boys from small towns, we realize we missed a couple stops. The adolescence tour is us making room for some places we haven’t yet been and letting us have some fun on the road.

Following the U.S. shows, the duo will head to Australia and New Zealand for a run of live shows May 10 through May 18. Tickets for all shows are on sale now. For a full list of tour dates and to purchase tickets, please visit www.wearegoodneighbours.com.

Earlier this year, Good Neighbours released “Ripple,” out now via Capitol Records. Named one of  Rolling Stone ’s Songs You Need To Know. “Ripple” arrived alongside the band’s first official music video, directed by Alex Lockett. Watch the official music video HERE. Last month, Good Neighbours released their Apple Music Sessions EP, featuring a live version of “Ripple,” and a dreamy cover of Gracie Abrams’ “That’s so True” (LISTEN). Earlier this month saw the release of a new version of “Ripple.” “Ripple (soft version)” is out everywhere now.

It has since amassed more than 500 million global streams, while TikTok videos using the song have amassed over 2 billion views“Home” entered the singles charts in 13 countries including the UK (#26) and the Billboard Hot 100 (for 11 weeks) and spent nearly 40 weeks in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart, along with impressive radio airplay on more than 200 stations in the U.S. across all formats, landing the song in both the Top 3 at AAA and in the Top 10 at Alternative Radio making it one of the most played songs of the year in both formats. Their latest single, “Ripple” meanwhile is climbing the charts as well, currently sitting in the Top 20 at Alt Radio.

In addition, the band’s massive year included the release of their highly-anticipated, self-titled

About Good Neighbours:
Optimism, positivity, and connection are the key ingredients of Good Neighbours - the duo of Scott Verrill and Oli Fox that have taken 2024 by the horns. What started off as one simple SoundCloud demo link emailed around to a few industry folk resulted in them having the most streamed debut single globally from a new artist this year, with 'Home.’ This became the first truly viral success of the year and has amassed more than 500 million global streams.

Good Neighbours music is bursting with hope and joyous abandon and an amalgamation of their emotive indie influences of yesteryear such as MGMT, Passion Pit and Bleachers. They came together to create an indie-euphoric dreamscape of sound and vision for a subdued generation. Live, they bring the inclusive party to fans every time - racing through the London gig circuit and beyond. In addition to selling out their first world tour, including a run of headline shows in America, Oli and Scott have graced stages supporting Benson Boone and Foster The People. Good Neighbours are wasting no time capturing the world's attention, so don’t miss their Adolescence Tour dates this Spring.

Kacy Hill Enters A New Era With "When In Rome" + Announces Mini Headline Tour This May

KACY HILL

BLOSSOMING INTO A NEW CHAPTER WITH “WHEN IN ROME”

LISTEN HERE

March 21, 2025 – Acclaimed Phoenix-born, LA-based singer-songwriter Kacy Hill arrives with her new single, “When in Rome,” out today via Nettwerk. The track, co-written with John Vincent III and co-produced by Tommy King (HAIM, RAYE, The 1975), introduces Hill’s sonic transformation into the folk and Americana soundscape, marking a new era of her artistry. Alongside the tender single, Hill has announced an intimate headline tour starting this May.

“When in Rome” delves into the vulnerable “hoping stage” of a breakup, reflecting on the lingering desire to rewrite an ending and avoid the finality of loss. The new single is not just a genre pivot but a testament to Hill’s authenticity and commitment to storytelling. Hill shares, “In the depths of my own grief, I often imagined running into my ex unexpectedly and forgiving everything in the past to start something new and circumvent the inevitable pain of loss. John Vincent III and I wrote this together in Nashville and I finished it with Tommy King back in LA with some wonderfully talented musicians.”

This single serves as the first glimpse of Hill’s forthcoming project, which will be a collection of songs that underscores her artistic reinvention. Through upcoming collaborations with esteemed artists such as John Vincent III, Hovvdy, Madi Diaz, and more, Hill explores the rich traditions of Americana while maintaining her distinctive and alluring style. “When in Rome” follows Kacy Hill & 6LACK’s standalone single Time’s Up in January, which was praised by Billboard, UPROXX, Hypebeast, PAPER, Pigeons & Planes, Ones To Watch, and more.

More exciting news and music from Kacy Hill to follow soon.

Her collection of dreamy, melodic songs are rooted in combining traditional American storytelling and her unique sound together to deliver a refreshing take on a classic genre.

Hill exemplifies what it means to be a genre-bending artist–consistently challenging herself to expand her horizons while upholding authenticity at the forefront of her work. Four albums in (2024's BUG, 2021's Simple, Sweet, And Smiling, 2020's Is It Selfish If We Talk About Me Again, and 2017's Like A Woman), this new chapter is a culmination of reworking her songwriting process to create the project she’s strived to make over the course of her career. For this record, Hill honed in on strongly developing each song from its lyrics and melodies, compared to previous works where she’d build from production fragments or ideas.

While Hill has been recognized for notable collaborations with Travis Scott (“90210)” and Bon Iver (“PDLIF”), her new music positions her as a revitalizing voice for Americana and folk music. “I want to make something timeless that feels deeply from me and pulls from my biggest inspirations in country and folk music,” says Hill, proving the dedication, she has to demonstrate her comprehensive knowledge and connection to both genres and beyond.

RISING STAR TEHYA RELEASES SORRY FOR THE WAIT EP ON NEON GOLD RECORDS / FUTURES

RISING STAR TEHYA RELEASES
SORRY FOR THE WAIT EP
ON NEON GOLD RECORDS HERE

“SPOONS FOR SWEETS” MUSIC VIDEO HERE

Today, TEHYA releases her debut EP, sorry for the wait here, via Neon Gold Records / Futures Music. Hailing from LA via Seattle, the 24-year-old Filipino-Native American singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist TEHYA created her debut with co-production from The Imports (Beyoncé, Will Linley), Aire Atlantica (SZA, Doechii), Cameron Hale (Khalid, Kiana Ledé) and Contradash.

TEHYA adds: “i sat on the idea of being an artist for years and spent a complete 365 days alone in my room learning how to record myself, and anyone who’s stuck with me from the beginning knows how long the wait has been. this EP reflects my own coming of age & how i’ve begun to find my footing in this industry and my life around it.“

And about “dust dog”, she states: “I was sent off by my label to a remote cabin to finish this EP. While we were there, we met a dog named “Gucci”. I was going thru arguably the worst type of break up and sort of analogized Gucci’s love of sunbathing in the dirt waiting around for his people to come home with my perspective of myself in that relationship.”

Last year, she graced the cover of NME Magazine alongside Teddy Swims, Laufey, Lola Young, Royal Otis, and Artemas. Earlier, she released the EP track “spoons for sweets” with an intimate music video and celebrated Native American Heritage Month with the release of “trap door”, which landed her on the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist.

TEHYA is the latest superstar-in-waiting to join the lengthy lineage of alt-pop artists at Neon Gold Records, the celebrated independent label that first put out Charli XCX, Tove Lo, MARINA, Christine and the Queens / Rahim Redcar, and many more.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest in the crosshairs of her ancestral cultures; Cherokee, Filipino and Scotch-Irish, TEHYA was heavily influenced by music and took after her father, a local legend funk drummer, from a young age. After leaving home at 16, she found her community in Capitol Hill with some of the biggest names in the Seattle underground rap scene. It was here she picked up production via osmosis, sitting in on sessions and teaching herself Pro Tools and FL whenever a room was going spare. She is self-taught across the board – playing guitar, keys, drums, and writing 100% of her toplines and lyrics – a self-made DIY popstar unbound by genre and ready for the spotlight.

02. peach pit
03. dust dog - visualizer
04. just a girl - visualizer

Philadelphia indie-rockers Mt. Joy continue to tease their forthcoming North American tour and release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album  Hope We Have Fun  (out May 30 on Futures x Bloom Field Records) with their latest single ‘Coyote.

"The song was originally inspired by the sounds of coyotes around Mt. Washington in Los Angeles while there on a writing trip.” Front-man Matt Quinn shares. “I wanted to make a tune that captured their vibe, creating a fun rock song that honored the coyote’s spirit. The full meaning of the track came together when, in the end, we realized a group of coyotes is called a band. I like to think that, retrospectively, it's about us sticking together and bringing energy to people like this song does.”

Mt. Joy’s fourth studio album,  Hope We Have Fun  arrives at the precipice of another breakthrough year, set for release on May 30 amidst their spring headlining ‘Hope We Have Fun’ tour. After nearly a decade of touring and releasing three critically acclaimed albums (2018’s Mt. Joy, 2020’s Rearrange Us, and 2022’s Orange Blood), the five-piece reached new heights in 2024, selling out New York’s Madison Square Garden, Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheater, and more; their 70-date North American and European headline tour has sold more than 180,000 tickets. Mt. Joy’s momentum stemmed from years of hard work on the road cultivating an unforgettable stage presence and undeniably loyal fanbase.

For Quinn, the record speaks directly to the band’s long journey together — "We've all worked incredibly hard together and done ridiculous things in sickness and in health. You just kind of look up and you're at Madison Square Garden with these people, and it makes you emotional — it feels like something you never could have dreamed. The album is a realization that we pushed ourselves into this crazy world, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. Its a lot about sticking together in relationships, living a crazy lifestyle and just kinda saying, ‘I hope we have fun.'"

Since forming in 2016, the Philadelphia -based indie-rock band — Matt Quinn (vocals, guitar), Sam Cooper (guitar), Jackie Miclau(keys, piano), Sotiris Eliopoulos (drums), and Michael Byrnes (bass) has garnered over one billion global streams and sold more than half a million tickets. Their singles “Silver Lining,” “Jenny Jenkins,” “Lemon Tree,” “Strangers,” “Highway Queen,” and “She Wants to Go Dancing” have all charted in the Top 5 on AAA radio. The band has earned critical acclaim from major media outlets including The New York TimesRolling StoneBillboardNPR, and PEOPLE; they’ve also graced the stage at top festivals around the world, as well as on late-night TV shows including CBS’ The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show withJames Corden, NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! ( watch ). In 2025, Mt. Joy will embark on an extensive North American arena tour, as well as festival stops at Governor’s BallBonnaroo, and will be headlining at the prestigious Newport Folk Festival.

Forming in 2016, they made their mark two years later when their self-titled Mt. Their second album, Rearrange Us (2020) drew widespread critical raves, with title track gaining 92 million Spotify streams since the release.
