Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
Robert Bryndza Great question - I think Adrian Mole and Pandora Braithwaite. They were a couple for only a short time but Adrian's love for her kept me reading.

Not a question, really, I have enjoyed "The Girl in the Ice" and "The Night Stalker", and I am currently reading and loving "Dark Water". I hope you are going to keep this series going, I love Erika. I was so excited to receive a copy on Netgalley, could barely wait to finish the book I was reading to get to it.?

Wow! What an amazing suspense -thriller! Love DCI Erika Foster and her staff of detectives. Dark Water does not disappoint if you have read the author's first 2 DCI Erika Foster novels. I hope you will continue this series, Robert. Looking forward to the next one and hoping you take Erika and Peterson further in their relationship! Is that a possibility? Great work!

Hi Robert, I picked up A Girl in the Ice based mainly on the cover but love a good crime story. Not usually a fan of ongoing seriesbut I loved A Girl in the Ice so much I grabbed a copy of The Night Stalker before I was finished. Working my way through the last few chapters of Night Stalker now and am eagerly looking forward to the third book in the series. Are there plans to write more DCI Foster stories?

Erika Foster is so real as a character. She is flawed, which makes her so much more human. How did you come up with such a complex character? She has grown through the series, but she was so multi-layered right from the start. Did you model her after anyone?
Robert Bryndza Hi Jody, thanks for your comment. I love that you love Erika. I know some readers have struggled with her flaws, which is fair enough, but I wanted to make her a complex believable character. She started out being based on a couple of people I know, but over the course of the three books she has taken on a life of her own - Rob xx

Not as much of a question as a comment, it seems like many of the characters in the Erika Foster series come from underrepresented groups. I'm really thrilled to see nuanced depictions of women, people who identify as LGBTQ, and people of color. Did you intend to write in more diverse characters or did it just unfold naturally?
Robert Bryndza Hi Caroline, thank you for your question and kind comments. I never set out to write a book about underrepresented groups, but I also wanted to write a story which reflects the world I see. I'm happy that you have picked up on this. I don't write in this way to make any kind of statement, just to hold a mirror up to the world and society. Thanks for getting in touch! Rob xx

I have read the 2 DCI Foster thrillers and have enjoyed them very much. I look forward to the next one in the series. I wonder why you live in Slovakia? I liked that you include Erika's sister and a bit of background of Erika being from there. Will you include more about Slovakia in future books? I love to learn about unfamiliar places. Again, thanks for entertaining me with your writing.
Robert Bryndza Thank you, Linda! I live in Slovakia because my husband is Slovak, and after many years living in London and a year in the US, we decided to try a different way of life. I will be including more about Slovakia in future books, as we find out more about Erika's family, and her backstory. I just listened to the audio books of The Girl In The Ice &The Night Stalker back to back; your characters are so well portrayed that they come alive! I felt like I was watching a movie in my head. Being a 25 year expat, it's a treat reading these intense thrillers & getting a taste of home at the same time. I looked for book #3 and see it's coming out in October ... and I was hoping it was perhaps going to be sooner?

Hi Robert, When you decided to write a crime novel, had you any previous knowledge of policing and forensics? Did you decided to focus on South London because you had lived there? Loved "The Girl in the Ice" and am now reading "The Night Stalker".
Robert Bryndza Hi Sue, thanks for your question. I didn't have a huge knowledge of policing and forensics, but I did huge amounts of research, and I have also been lucky enough to work with former Chief Superintendent Graham Bartlett, who has advised me on police procedure, and has been kind enough to introduce me to other professionals in the UK Police force. Yes, I made South London the focus as I lived there for almost ten years. So pleased you are enjoying my books, thank you! Rob x

Thanks again for a great read !!!! Stayed up late and then did not turn out the lights. I found myself yelling at Erika; saying don't do that; get out of there !! No question but I am so looking forward to Erika coming back and I hope it wont be too long?

I dont a have a question, either! I have just three letters to say about this book: OMG. I devoured this book, I just could not stop reading it! What a plot, what a disclosure! I will definitely dive into the Nightstalker soon, although I am afraid of reading that and then be over with DCI Foster (yeah, I get attached to characters and I do have a post-reading depression) Lol! Is there a significant other in Erika's future? I've purchased and read both "The Girl in the Ice" and "The Night Stalker" and eagerly await the 3rd installment in the series hoping that she will find love and happiness. She's suffered enough hasn't she? C'mon Mr. Bryndza, she has to put up with so much crap at work and it doesn't seem like she will ever make Superintendent. Let her shed some sadness and have hope
