Even with the high ratins, and great reviews, I wasn't too eager to read this one. It's just, well, it is YA angel book, how good can it be? So, I read the first chapter (I was curious) & loved it! So, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Oh Ee, why are you barely known (in fact, you might think "Oh Ee" is me crying out in pain but "Ee" is the author's last name) but your book is so much better than all the other dystopian novels I read this year? Unless the 2nd half is going to sink faster than the Titanic (yes..I get my cheesy point), this book will definitely be a favorite of mine!

This is NOT a cheesy YA paranormal. It is a dark, post-apocalyptic survival story that just happens to have a 17 year old main character. It is wonderful so far. Great writing.

Excellent so far. I love how dark, and gritty the post-apocalyptic world is.

Michelle, the Bookshelf Stalker That would be high "ratings" not high "ratins". LOL

message 2: by AH (new) - rated it 4 stars

AH Funny, as I read this, it never occurred to me that it was a young adult novel. The main character is 17, but that never made me think it was YA. It's just a novel with a 17 year old girl as a main character.

I really enjoyed this - it's pretty good for a debut novel.

That's very good to know. I like that the story itself doesn't end up coming across as YA!
