(1) On one hand, Harry should be less repetitive with spells. Petrificus Totalus over and over gets boring. On the other hand, if it works, why change?

A hooter is an old-fashioned horn with a spherical bulb on the end which pushes air through the horn when squeezed, making a hooting sound. The slang term ‘hooter’ came about due to the supposed resemblance of the female breast to this rubber bulb (and men’s desire to squeeze them). So, the same meaning, basically. :-)

I found the Weasley boys’ obsession with Ginny’s boyfriends to be both entertaining and frustrating (when I put myself in Ginny’s shoes). And the way Ginny deals with all the overprotective brothers also speaks loads about her character

I can also see how it can be annoying from her perspective.
I think part of it is that seemingly the entire family is nudging her and Harry to get together. She's not much better in that regard, actively conspiring with Molly to get Bill to dump Fleur for Tonks.
It's not really in the Weasley family DNA to have multiple girlfriends while at school: Arthur and Molly were a couple, Percy and Penelope, and Ron and Lavender. So having more than one partner must feel very odd to them, or at least contrary to what they're used to.
Part of me thinks the whole boyfriend thing is done to ultimately get Harry to notice her, which does work in the end.
