Lisa is on page 264 of 458 of Big Little Lies
This is really good and different because it's set in Australia. It was super cheap on Kindle too, thus disproving my theory that all cheap non-classics on Amazon are poor quality trash. I'm very pleased.

Just a quick, silly book to distract me while I figure out my next read.

Lisa is on page 260 of 291 of Without You, There Is No Us: My Time with the Sons of North Korea's Elite
This is an eye-opening account of what's going on in North Korea. It's way scarier than I imagined. It's the Cultural Revolution all over again, with dumber, more evil leaders.

YAY! I'm done. It was tough but I'm glad I read it. I had no clue about what went into the building of the canal and I feel just a bit more educated now.

Slowly, but surely. So much detail and so many names to remember!

OK so far. I wish it was a little more about food and more detailed.

Love this book. His writing is stellar, though there are some type-os, which is ironic. I think Kindle format is just not checked very well.

Hard to get past her comma splice filled sentences, and now she just spelled "every day" as one word when not used as an adjective - one of my biggest spelling pet peeves. But if I can look past the eccentric writing style, her magical-realism is unique and interesting. I'll keep at it.

Lisa is on page 120 of 276 of Beethoven's Hair: An Extraordinary Historical Odyssey and a Scientific Mystery Solved
Hard to tell what page, as I am reading it on a Kindle. I am at 40% and I have to say that it's pretty boring so far. A lot of history of marginal musicians and WWII. I'm not sure what I was expecting. This is for a book club so it was not my choice. Plus, one of the members ruined the mystery by telling us what they find out about his cause of death, which ruined the surprize for all of us.

It's just OK. I was influenced by all the negative reviews, and I do agree with most of them, but there are some good qualities to the book as well. At this point, I have to finish, since I've invested time & $!

Don't know what to think so far. She introduces a ton of characters right away and it's a bit confusing. So far, I don't really care about any of the characters. It's also weird for Rowling to write about sex, though I am going to keep an open mind.

I like it, but it's not what I thought it would be. I wanted more about the mechanics of his travels; instead he focuses on his feelings about the river.
