OKAY FINALLY!!!! This was DRAGGING there for the first 90 pages or so but I feel like a good foundation has been laid. High stakes, a likable protag (though mentioning how plain she is has already gotten old) and an interesting political landscape. I’m sucked in now!!!

I AM SO CONFUSED. Is the 2nd POV narrator Gideon? Is the Body Alecto or Gideon? Is Ortus dead or not? Why is Harrow only half a Lyctor? Where is Coronabeth??? WTF is the River?????

I have seen online that 3/4ths of this book is immensely confusing and to stick it out til the end and I will definitely do that but I’m CONFUSED.
