I am such a sucker for books that center around food and consumption, and the early groundwork for connecting food to societal standards of women's bodies and how women take up space has me REALLY excited to keep reading.

VERY low stakes slice of life. Not the most gripping so far but the vibes are good

I'm convinced that Emily Henry made the FMC a librarian so when the MMC asks if audiobooks count as reading she can say "Of course they do!" and honestly I respect that.

The main character being a midwife and the vibes of this is reminding me of The Frozen River but lesbianly + with hints of folklore and something more magical to come. I'm liking it SO much.

I'm enjoying this but it's moving much slower for me than the first book did. Not sure why.
