The narrator didn’t work for me. I got no real sense of distinction between characters, made worse when the men sound like what someone thinks a man sounds like. The story might be better in print but I can’t continue in audio.

I think I need to not read reviews of later books in the series. First, I was afraid Sam would give in to a certain person in this book and now I’m afraid of what I know is going to happen later. Getting invested in a book shouldn’t make me so anxious but that’s me.

This book is amazing. I love that “monsters”, and one of the biggest monsters of them all, are so loving. They’re home and they’re loved when no one else ever has.

This book has been in tears and I’m only 44 pages in.
