I’m not NOT enjoying this but can someone please tell me in what universe Iron Widow makes sense as a comp for this book 🤔 because there is zero female rage and also zero throuples so far so?????

Truly wondering how these two characters are going to fall in love in a believable way since at a third they haven’t even shown any sign of respect for each other or friendship or anything???? Starting to feel skeptical

There are way too many characters in this I have zero recollection of most of them 😭 who is professor deverra vs professor Grady 😭

Narrator herself referenced being desirous of solitude - pushing me as a reader away in the distance she creates? Context about her husband gives a reason why she joined the expedition but doesn’t make her more compelling

Writing personality is kinda stilted and not my favourite style but I like the sense of atmosphere that’s being created - very creepy even reading in the middle of the day in public on the subway - the descriptions are good at giving me a sense of peace

“He knew enough about himself to realize he was seeking something he had not yet found” I guess not?

Usually I love the trope used here but it just felt empty 😫 I’m also conflicted about whether or not I should feel chemistry between the two POV characters or not??

Enjoying this one a lot more than the first since there’s much more political drama - though I really question the logic behind not just overthrowing the warlord and trying for a democratic government???

the book gets -500000 stars compared to the movie because guerney’s perspective is dull and literally adds nothing to the story

ok this book isn’t BAD but the layout of the kingdoms and the general political plot is making me want to reread the queens thief instead 😫 the politics in this one just can’t compare

ok this started a little slow but when the building shows up 🤯🤯🤯

this may be one of the rare cases where I actually like the movie better than the book

so far my favourite thing is how we have all these exotic fantasy names and terms like THE MUAD’DIB and ARRAKIS and then we also have PAUL and JESSICA

This one has already made me laugh out loud several times so I have high hopes for the rest of it
