hey, a little progress!

It's still early, but I'm intrigued so far. I haven't read a good pirate book in years and this feels like it might be one. I'm looking forward to continuing it.

This was sold to me as not your typical young adult dystopian future. I was told that it seems like that at first but it changes. I expressed my doubts to a coworker and was told "it's a combination of Hunger Games and Ender's Game!" Maybe so but that didn't keep me interested. I'm not giving up yet, but I think I will soon. I hate giving up on books but there's just not enough time to read books you don't enjoy.

I know this book gets lots of praise but I'm just not feeling it. I guess it's well done for what it is, but it feels like any other young adult dystopian future so far. I hope that changes soon.

Almost there!

Man, this is a long book! But awfully good so far. I never thought I'd like anything by Stephen King, but after reading It and this one, I'm really looking into his other stuff.

Hey, this is pretty good. I find that some of these older novels don't quite catch my interest. But this one sure has. I'm really enjoying it even if really not much has happened so far. It's weird that I'm getting so near the ending and so far we've just been traveling and meeting people.
If I had known about this before starting the book, I may have just ignored it but I'm glad I went in knowing nothing.

I don't think I'm going to complete the challenge I set for myself :( This reading funk has been probably the worst I've ever had. But, I'm making quick progress on a book again finally thanks to it being an audiobook so maybe I'll catch right back up to where I should be.

Ugh, I'm in a two month's long reading funk...

I just now really started the book. It's nice to be back with some familiar characters and I'm excited to see how the series starts tying together.

Sometimes life gets in the way. I haven't read anything in a week. But now here I go again.

I haven't read a non-fantasy book in a LONG time. It's tough. I've loved everything by Scalzi that I've read so I'm sure I'll get into this one too, but it's just not catching me yet. I'll trudge on. For the record, I am enjoying this so far--it's just been easy to put down.

It's wonderful being back with these characters--even if I'm stressed out about whatever's coming!
