Theo’s chapters are okay, but Travis, Bee, and Calla are the most insufferable narrators I’ve ever read.

This book is a lot of fun

I don’t know why authors always make characters stick their tongues out at each other. Even when I was a kid, I don’t think I can recall ever seeing that in real life.

So far the writing is clichéd and expository. Hope it improves because this is boring.

Taglit book club is doing this one of Wednesday, and I cannot wait to see what my friend who has zero patience for Cassie has to say about this.

The way Murderbot feels about her helmet is the way I feel when I put sunglasses on: instant eye contact shield.

I don’t think I like this very much so far—not in love with the narrator. But it’s short and has high ratings so I may as well push through.

Of course we get a story about a famous roboticist, but because she’s a woman it’s about how she has a crush on a man who could never like her because she’s pushing forty.

Not sure why Cutie is presupposing that to begin with. What’s self-evident in that idea?

I’m not into robots, so I’m not very invested in this yet, but this is a pretty significant book in the sci-fi canon, so here we are.

Surprised to see a man named Saul Green on a list of people who went to an evangelical camp.

More than 3/4 though the book and we’ve encountered our first woman. I can see why a number of women gave this book two stars.

I’m really liking this so far.

If the branch is only six feet off the ground, I think Rachel could have reached up and set Tobias on the branch instead of having to throw him—I can read something that high, and I think Rachel’s taller than I am.

This is one of my least favorites in the series, but it’s Taglit book club tomorrow so I have to speed through it.

This reminds me a lot of Bruce Coville’s Rod Allbright series. I’m betting this was strong inspiration for it.

I haven’t read many horror books that rival how scary Hal is.

Clarke just put in a footnote citing where he got the stats for the Tycho crater.

I think it’s fun how much time these old sci-fi books expend talking about gravity.
