I'm hoping this book doesnt make me hate Koontz. Velocity was amazing, the first chapter of The Taking pales in comparison. So far.

I like the pace so far. This is a book for a lazy summer afternoon when the entire house is quiet and there is not much else to do.

Of course. Now Maureen will turn into a vampire too? Because we dont have enough of those running around. This is just so many levels of lets-extend-this-until-the-reader-dies-of-boredom-and-exhaustion.

I like it so far. I guess. There is not enough grief about Max, though. A POV from Maryse or Isabelle specifically dealing with that would have been nice. Also, Simon is a vampire -- so regardless of whether Isabelle was halfway across the hall, he could have still caught up with her. Silly boy excuses.

Because my version of the book has over 3000 pages, my ebook tells me I am 20% done. My opinion might be biased now, after reading MANY critical reviews last night, but seriously, they make so much sense. There was this one amazing review that said something along the lines of refuting the 'realism' part in the books -- without rape scenes and incest, we wont be able to accept the story as realistic? More later.

I've gotten through most of the book. But I refuse to read another page. Childish writing, not to my liking, too cheesy, too predictable and too disappointing.

(I'm not really on pg 296, it wont let me enter X)

If only I wasn't a human being deprived of sleep, i could have this completed by tonight, but i just don't have it in me anymore. Love the developments so far. The wedding shall be a high point, I can tell. Cant wait. What I don't like is how it feels sort of one sided. Id love to have other peoples povs. And maybe even a sports letter from Collin? Im off.

Oh, yes. Finally something well written and interesting. This has a sort of Someone To Watch Over Me vibe, by Judith Mcnaught, more so in the suspense department rather than the romance one...but I don't want to speak too soon. I had a feeling about Silas, the slimeball. And I really appreciated the motor bike scene, and what followed closely after.

Definitely not Jennifer Crusie, but VERY WELL on her own. Not an author I'd be comparing to anyone anytime soon. She definitely holds her own. Love the brooding guy, especially love the girl, but what i love most of all? The gay friend. <3 So far, so good. Hooked.

I thought this was supposed to be Crusie like. This is depressing as all hell. I don't want to read this anymore. Not that it's not good -- its very good. Just that the love of her life is dead. And she's, naturally, sad about it. Which makes me sad about it. Crusie never makes me sad.

Ive been told this writer has a similar style to Crusie's. Let's hope that's atleast a little bit true.

Sort of had a feeling about Magnus. But then, you'd be blind to not be able to recognize the tension and awkwardness and obvious mismatching.
Wanted a Crusie-esque novel. Kinsella is so not my style. Her heroines are too dim. Makes me want to bang my head against a wall.

Maybe its just me, but I keep thinking that as I read more and more of Paulo Coelho's books, the standard keeps on dropping. After The Alchemist, and then Veronica Decides To Die, I'm not much enjoying this book. Its long and windy, and I have to actively concentrate on reading. Until further notice, I am pausing the reading of this book.
