I've completed the first chapter were Michael Jones summarizes the initially amazing results of Operation Barbarossa and ending with Germany's inability to capture Moscow before the Russian winter closes around them.

The second chapter is focused on the combat leading up to and including the fight around Stalingrad. I hadn't known prior to reading Total War that Stalingrad was a Soviet war refugee center.

Work has managed to significantly interfere with my reading time as of late. I'm way behind on my reading goals for the year with a number of books languishing at various points. There appears to be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel though.... I just finished a biography of Benjamin Franklin which I'll be adding to my read list and have started book seven of James Reasoner's Civil War series.
