I kept thinking that I couldn't find consistent real world examples of the constrained and unconstrained ideas. That was all cleared up in Part II where Mr. Sowell describes why this is and how he goes about categorizing various modes of thought.

To date this book has been an incredible journey. For myself "A Conflict Of Visions" has illustrated the use of mental maps. As a result it has enabled an understanding of the differing political views in our country today and more importantly why they differ - their root cause.
