Even at times 2 speed this book is not finishing up fast enough :/

Ann Coulter is a bad writer, bad at being funny, and a liar to boot.

That meant that firms could not sell their assets to meet their operation expenses without taking huge and unnecessary losses: essentially this meant that even solvent firms had the real possibility of declining bankruptcy.

The author describes the actions of the Fed and Congress their attempt to stop the bleeding caused by the financial crisis, but I wouldn't necessarily call the major issue of the crisis one of a bleed-out.

I'd describe it more like a heart attack or a strangulation: Short term credit lines, the lifeblood of day to day operations at Americans largest firms essentially shut down at the same time as markets plunged

It's also important that Coulter give her opposition no voice in it's arguments and cast enough doubt and hatred of the opposition in herbreadets, that even when they hear the arguments of the left, they will consistently silo away those making the opposition arguments as liberial fools and safely ignore everything that they say.

Also pretty terrible.

Ann Coulter's style of argument is unbelievably simply: create an outrageous accusation, and endlessly pepper it throughout a rambling loosely connected narrative (essentially stream-of-conciousness writing). The point is to make it appear to readers that her stupid accusation is linked to many different connected points and is obviously true.

It's a means of spreading doubt and is especially terrible

I actually looked it up! On the corruption index, Russia is WAY more corrupt than Saudi Arabia.

It's weird that I even wanted to look something like this up.

Russia is less corrupt than Saudi Arabia? Really? That's why we should be friendly with a kleptocracy?

Ann is talking about the Torchlight parades at Charlottesville. She's saying that it was innocent.

She conveniently left out how they where chanting "JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US" and "BLOOD AND SOIL".

Jesus Christ, this is terrible :o

Lol, you know, Tucker Carlson kinda surprised me.

Ann Coulter does not. This is pure Facebook-grade conservative shitposting trash.

It's like someone took a collection of a ton of Breitbart comments and edited them into a full length book.

Yeeeeeeeash :/

Alrighty then! Let's start this experiment and test the theory: is Ann Coulter REALLY that bad?

Yeah, probably. But taking a look into the minds of the craziest conservatives had it's utility.

Might even be fun

Tucker is the one of the only conservative I've ever heard that actually thought wealth inequality was actually a problem.

This is weirdly refreshing.

I can certainly aggree with Philip Howard that more discretion, not less, migy be necessary to increase efficiency of government programs.

I'm pretty into discretion.

Author ignores how the use of the APA and "citizen hearings" are largly used and abused by powerful private Intrest groups and organizations to hobble new rules and regulations (delaying them for as long as possible and impossibly complicating them with endless legalize and appeals related hell).

How this cannot apply to government failure is beyond me: why he essentially endorses the process as is appalling.

"even libertarians accept that government must correct for these market impediments to public and merrit goods"

Have you ever met a "taxation is theft" libertarian? Do you really understand the mental process of Congressional Republicans?

They don't believe in public goods. They don't believe in externalities. They do not believe in the need of the federal government (really of any government) period.

The author states openly that he has no desire to talk about the problem of natural Monopolys or the governments immense need to regulate them, primary because the industry itself feels that it "would be better off un-regulated'.

I'm sure criminals feel that the industrys they Rob from, and feel they would be best suited unregulated by law enforcement.

I think we aught to respect their unbiased and sage advice...

The author literally indicts universial programs of failing one of the core goals he has set for successful government programs: that they are target efficient.

Universality is the central pillar of successful government programs: they must affect and benefit as many people as possible to truely be successful and get support.

To me being "target efficient" is a mark of failure not success
