We both know what fun it can be to get right into a book and live there for a while, but falling out of a story and suddenly finding yourself in this world doesn't seem to be much fun at all.

Chapter 14 is mind blowing

I was thinking the plot line of slowly poisoning royalty by making them sick and feeding them “medicine” has been done a lot. Then I realized this book was published in 1882 so it’s probably one of the first to use this plot

I realize Myrthe doesn’t trust anybody after what she grew up with but this book would have a lot less unnecessary drama (and be a lot shorter) if she would just TELL people why she can’t give wishes

Reading for a book club. I tried to read this years ago when I was a kid and never got into it (which was rare for me at the time). So we'll see how it goes this time around...

Goodreads doesn't list an audiobook version for this book but that's what is available on Libby so it definitely exists
