What are the odds that the last book I read was about grim reapers and this book is also about grim reapers?

I don't normally read books with some of these elements/content, but I am very intrigued by the portal fantasy "otherworld" aspects.

Anne is so great. She always sees the best in people and she affects everybody around her in such positive ways.

Even though I know how everything turns out in the end, it is so painful to witness Anne turn Gilbert down and fall for Roy instead.

Like I'm so here for this story and the vibes, but I am not here for the back and forth pining between these two after they already kissed each other in book one. Like YES HE LIKES YOU, GURL. HAVE SOME CONFIDENCE. I know things have changed, but come on!
