Along every other bit of wall space were shelves filled with books. Book stacked on the floor. Books under the bed. Books along the top of the hearth. A tall pile of books had even replaced a missing leg on the table.

Same, Merlin. Same.

This is fun but the quest story line seems a bit dragged out. Every time they go somewhere they realize they went there for no reason and are sent somewhere else…

I love the mishmash of fairy tales in this story and all the well-known characters Hunter has encountered so far

Simon is the best. Gosh.

I'm really tired of the "let's sleep together and then immediately fight over something semi-ridiculous even though we are adults" trope because while I understand there needs to be /some/ conflict and things can't just be super happy after they get together and work out perfectly but this gets so old. At least, there was an attempt to talk things out before completely ignoring each other's feelings.

I never noticed that bit of foreshadowing right there...

I knew it… but I’m glad Emily found out this early in the story and this wasn’t used for an awkward interaction way too late in the book
