I'm in ch. 3, she's not even on the trail yet and I'm already wincing. Four of the first five paragraphs of this chapter start with "I." Fourteen consecutive sentences in a row begin with "There was..." as she described the backpack contents. Did she not use an editor?Fine if this is a stylistic tool to create the sense of her drudging step-after-step progress on the trail, but we're in her motel, for crying out loud
