A little bit of trouble remembering everyone's relationship to each other. Also what happened in their past was a little confusing at first but a great pint of tension for later

Feel silly all worried about worldbuilding when this is ending up being just a smutfest. I'm not impressed with how this is a "retelling", it seems like the names are just pasted on any sort of gang-boss modern world. It's not really bad, but I don't really get it. I do like that Hades thinks he so big and bad but everyone adores him as king

I wish the world was being explored a bit more - I barely know what's going on and she's already in Hades...house? She crossed the river and suddenly we were in a house, I'm a little confused. And idk how at all this world works with people "becoming" the gods? Like what are these roles?

Pretty strange style of telling a story, I like the almost body horror element of ballet, definitely like black swan. The relationships are just so weird like no one normal acts like this and there's not really a reason why they're messed up sexually like they are

they are SO CUTE omg, I love the determination of both of them, the slight quirkiness of Taylor but its not obnoxious or "oh so special gurl" - but more of a real person. Magical realism with a huge family and I can't keep track of who is who AT ALL - I initially was going through the 1st few chapters like "oh like encanto!" but its boring, too many people, and i have no idea what is really going on. this is def one of those books where nothing happens. I usually hate when people say that, but really, nothing is happening. The actual baking competition is basically skipped over, only a few pages. The dad conversation are recycled over and over. Their relationship problems are barely problems

WHY does there have to be a villain in this story?? I hate that shit in romances, theres no need for another guy to be straight up evil for no reason. Still, I really like their banter and the sunshine/brooding dynamic. Wish there was a bit more explanation on why he likes her though, bc now it just seems like its one sided

The amount of description that goes into all the baking makes the sex scenes seem oddly out of place. IDK why, I feel like this should be more PG13 rated for some reason. Still, they are cute and have nice chemsitry

the apparent Best Romance Ever and im finally starting it, tho its probably just going to mildly better than the avg one. Maybe. so far its starting off with a literal sexual harassment and a woman so pathetic its just sad, so, idk so far

picks way up after N's death, now I feel like there are some actual stakes and things happening. The "mystery" about the dads past is so obvious Logan looks dumb to be shocked by the reveal

Kind of strange to spend that chunk on Vivian and Melvin, unless there's supposed to be a sequel to this. Also the "standup comedy" was really bad, he just talked about himself the whole time without any jokes, like a lecture

Very light romance, the biggest deal so far being "grief can be hard sometimes" and very heavy on the baking aspects. Not that that isn't amazing to read about.

Much more interesting now that the cop only has part of the POV, the teenager is fun how she thinks she's so smart and special, "not like other girls" type but not annoying lol

Pretty slow to pick up, feel like just now in the last few chapters things are actually happening. I could do without the magic stuff, this guy could just be haunted by ghosts and Jane is now wrapped into it. I'm think a 3.5 so far, maybe its gets really creepy in this 2nd half and makes up for the slow 1st half

I was into this until it became focused on the COP I don't want to read about cops ommmggg Kaur is a boring meanspirited character already. Clare isn't really anything outstanding, but she's got character and a cool mystery with this old author at least
